With both Euro 2012 and the Olympics getting underway this summer, it is perhaps no surprise
that speculation has been rife over who will make it into Fabio Capello's final squad for Poland
and Ukraine, and who is in line for a call up for Stuart Pearce's Olympic Team GB squad and the
Euro 2012 betting odds for one youngster in particular have just dramatically
shortened.
Alex Oxlade Chamberlain
Alex made his big move to Arsenal in the summer for a massive £15million. The England U21
international has been outstanding when he has featured this season and will have a big part to
play in the second half of the season. At the start of December Wenger tipped Chamberlain to make
the England 2012 squad for the summer tournament which could him play more and more in the second
half of the season.

Browsing through the Everton forums finds a lot of uneasy fans worried about thier injury hit side
up against us on Wednesday night. Jagielka, Cahill, Osman, Rodwell, Hibbert and Coleman are all
doubts, but Fellaini and Drenthe both came through their previous match unscathed and should
feature.
They point out that the key to them winning this fixture will be controlling our midfield, a task
that is made infinitely easier if Parker and Sandro are both out.

So the Premier League season is finally here, it's Tottenham Hotspur's opening game versus
Everton..........
That's how the preview for this one should have started, but the unfortunate and unseemly
rioting of early August put paid to Spurs opening fixture. Now this is the game in hand it's vital
that Spurs get maximum points if they want to be taken seriously as title challengers.
According to
The Guardian this morning, Josh McEachran has been told by Chelsea that he CAN
leave the club on loan in January to "further his development".
I asked the question the other day about McEachran as we were linked with a £20m move for Jack
Rodwell. I asked
why we would want to make a move for Rodwell when we have McEachran warming
our bench weekly?

Would you believe it!!!
Sometimes in life, you realise there are things you only realise you can't live without once
it's gone. For me today, the realisation is one to do with computer. My laptop died on me today and
suddenly there's a huge void in my life. Luckily, I've managed to borrow one but I'm sure that's
not what you want to read.

Earlier in the season, Liverpool legends Graeme Souness and Ray Houghton expressed concern about
Luis Suarez's tendency to go down too easily, and John Aldridge has now joined them in highlighting
this unfortunate aspect of the Uruguayan's game.
During the 2-0 victory against Everton in October, Suarez was fouled by Jack Rodwell, and his
reaction played a part in the Everton player being sent off (the red card was subsequently
rescinded).
May have seen this on a FOF post a few weeks back, but worth re-sharing in light of Saturday's
draw:
Fulham have conceded a joint-league high 33% of their goals in the final 15 minutes of games
this season.
Not sure who we were tied with, but we're probably #1 after Saturday as so far this season we've
conceded 6 goals in the final 15 minutes of games.
Having just defeated the World Cup holders, Spain, and then Sweden, their bete noire (Sweden
were undefeated against England for almost half a century, until Tuesday evening), England have
gone nine matches without defeat. Fortunes are good, expectations are up, possibilities are
endless. England beat Spain without Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry and Steven Gerrard and
then they beat Sweden with Bobby Zamora, Stewart Downing and Theo Walcott in attack and Jack
Rodwell and Phil Jones in midfield.
By Chris Wright
Not that it really mattered, but England broke a 43-year hoodoo by beating Sweden for the first
time in 13 games at a sparsely-populated Wembley last night, with the narrow victory also affording
them their first defeat-less calendar year since 1994.
Kyle Walker started his first game for England at Wembley last night and arguably sealed the
second man of the match award for Tottenham players in two international games.
After Scott Parker shone against the Spaniards, Walker adopted that old footballing cliché of
showing ‘maturity beyond his years' as he battles for a place in the squad and maybe even a
starting berth at Euro 2012.
England manager Fabio Capello revealed he had ‘found what he was looking for' after victories
over Spain and Sweden.
The Three Lions defied the football betting on Saturday to overcome European and World Champions
Spain, with Frank Lampard grabbing the only goal.
Then on Tuesday Gareth Barry's header deflected in off Celtic defender Daniel Majstorovic to give
England their first win over Sweden since 1968.
1. 1-0 to the Eng-ger-land. Who said the defensive approach was just for the Spain game? Jack
Rodwell, Gareth Barry and Phil Jones in midfield. Now if we could just replace Theo Walcott and
Stewart Downing with Scott Parker and Lee Cattermole to add a bit more stability. 2. Hopefully the
goal will be given [.

What about that then, eh? What can we say? Taken in isolation, two evenish teams played
out an entertainingish game which was ultimately decided by the two centre-forwards: ours missed,
theirs didn't. But there's so much more to it than that, isn't there?
Everton scored in the second minute, Royston Drenthe smashing home from 'downtown' with a

Jamie Carragher has seen it all before as he prepares to celebrate his 677th Liverpool appearance
– against the old enemy Manchester United on Saturday.
And despite past bitter clashes Carragher doesn't see the eagerly anticipated game as the Kop
calendar's most explosive.
That's despite flashpoints such as his tackle on Nani last season which sparked some ugly scenes.
Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has praised team-mate Luis Suarez and said he would not swap him
for any other striker in England.
Manchester City forwards Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko have eight and six goals respectively in the
Premier League, whilst Manchester United forward Wayne Rooney is the league's top goalscorer on
nine goals.
Everton 0-2 Liverpool: Reds take advantage of referee's mistake
Liverpool ran out 2-0 winners in the 216th Merseyside Derby, in a game overshadowed by a
shocking decision by referee Martin Atkinson. When Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell clearly won the
ball in a 23rd minute challenge with Luis Suarez, Atkinson surprised the 39,000 crowd at a
sun-baked Goodison Park, by brandishing a straight red for the talented youngster.
In the wake of Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell having his controversial red card against Liverpool
rescinded by the FA, In The Stands looks back to a few horrific tackles and leg-breaks which have
left us almost in tears. Who said football was a game for pansies and show-ponies? The dangers of
