Los Angeles (AFP) – Defending champions Mexico couldn’t make their dominance pay dividends on Thursday as they were held to a frustrating scoreless draw by Jamaica in the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

In a rematch of the 2015 final won by Mexico, El Tri dominated possession but couldn’t get the ball into the net of Jamaican keeper Andre Blake.

Last night Brotherly Game published an article claiming that Salvadorian striker Rodolfo Zelaya was pictured in a team photo tweeted by the team.

Philadelphia Union technical director Chris Albright released the following statement this morning: "Contrary to unsubstantiated reports, Rodolfo Zelaya is not training with us at this time.

Rumored MLS target Rodolfo Zelaya was one of the 22 Salvadoran national team playerssuspended for participation in match fixing in 2010, including one game that the Salvadoran National Team played against D.C. United. United won that game 1-0 off of a goal by Adam Cristman. On Thursday, the world woke up to news match-fixing allegations. This time however, they hit much closer to home.

Late Wednesday night, the El Salvador Soccer Federation (FESFUT) released a statement on their website that said 22 players had been provisionally suspended from soccer-related activities for 30 days due to match-fixing allegations.
