Graham Poll was quick to speak about Howard Webb's decision to award a penalty to Manchester United when the club was 2-0 down against Tottenham Hotspur.

Of course Manchester United were fortunate to be awarded a penalty by Howard Webb - even at full speed it appeared clear that Heurelho Gomes played the ball away from Michael Carrick's feet.

Just a quick piece of news that I've just heard. In the aftermath of Darren Fletcher's red card, it seemed like there was little hope that he'd feature in Rome on 27 May. But yesterday, UEFA secretary David Taylor offered some hope, basically saying that if United offered an appeal on the grounds of exceptional circumstances, UEFA could pass it onto a disciplinary committee.

Darren Fletcher will miss the Champions League Final in Rome no matter what after being sent off in Tuesday's semi-final victory over Arsenal.

It was reported after the game that the Scot would be unable to appeal the decision but a possible silver lining would be the referee's match report.

Manchester United beat Spurs 5-2 the weekend before last after going 2-0 down at home. United's opening game from a penalty, which Michael Carrick won as he burst in to the box. Carrick tried to round the goalkeeper, before Gomes hurtled out touching the ball momentarily before he took out Carrick.

When ABUs talk about our win in the Nou Camp in 1999, they will refer to it as "lucky", thank to the two winning goals we scored, without any luck, in injury time.
