With a new void in his midfield, Arsene Wenger may turn yet again to another rising French star
to try and bolster his club.
Arsenal's interest in Stade Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila has reportedly been rekindled as the
close of the summer transfer window nears. If M'Vila were to sign with Arsenal, he would join a
group of young Frenchmen to sign with the club over the last few years that includes Samir Nasri,
Gael Clichy, Abou Diaby and most recently Olivier Giroud.
Joey Barton welcomes Gervinho to life in the Premier League with an embrace
Us Arsenal fans have been approaching the beginning of this new campaign with a sense of dread.
On the field, the team fell of a cliff last spring in quick sucession, they handed the Carling Cup
to Birmingham in the waning minutes; got eliminated from the Champions League yet again by nemesis
Barcelona, and fell from within striking distance of the top of the Premier League to barely
hanging on to a Champions League spot.
Alex Morgan is a the US Women's National Team rising star on and off the field. She is the most
marketable women's soccer player and has already signed sponsorships with major brands.
After coming off a dominant run through CONCACAF Olympic qualifying, the U.S. women's national
team had its hands full Saturday night with New Zealand before rising star Alex Morgan came to the
rescue.
Morgan scored in the 88th minute and again in stoppage time to help the U.
Having already qualified for the 2012 Summer Olympics by winning Friday's game versus Costa
Rica, the USWNT's win over Canada in the Olympic Qualifying Tournament was the icing on the cake.
The Canadian side came into tonight's match with a lot of confidence, but when it came time to
perform, fell quite short.

rising star who had been playing for Crewe Alexandria (League One side) and played for England
Youth Squads.
As noted in the first helping of the TSG Barclay's Premier League
preview, last year saw at least nine teams threatened by relegation entering April, so we're taking
liberties in suggesting that the following five teams will be unequivocally safe.
What has been expected for years was confirmed on Wednesday.
After a Swiss court ordered that FIFA could make the documents detailing business withÂ
marketing partner ISL public, the world's governing body of soccer did so, outing some of the
biggest names in the organization for taking kickbacks.
These days it's rare for Lionel Messi to accomplish something he has yet to already do, but he
was able to cross another item off his career bucket list on Wednesday.
The Barcelona catalyst and reigning Ballon d'Or winner scored his first career hat trick for
his country, tallying all of Argentina's goals -- including two late ones -- in a 3-1 victory over
Switzerland in Bern.
Manchester United aren't just a successful football club. From a wider perspective, they've
sculpted themselves into a global brand since the 90s, equipped with an enviable, astronomically
large fan base. According to Forbes, they're listed as one of the most valuable sports clubs in the
world.
Now a rising star pundit on Sky, former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has tabbed his Team
of the Season with a familiar name in the side. Below, he explains why the Texas Tornado is his
choice over some big names on the left. - Greg Seltzer
While Everton might be a mess, when it comes to come money, they do have something to smile about:
Ross Barkley. Everton's rising star Barkley is the best come out of their academy since Rooney.
Over the last couple of years, Everton's academy has produced a ton of talent over the last couple
of years and is starting to look like the West Ham Academy that produced so many great players in
the '90's.
It's been a longer layoff than I would have liked, but I'm back with the Musket Rounds. Despite
the fact that we've gone something like four or five days (including the weekend) without a link
roundup, I don't actually have too much for you today. But the news that's here is quite juicy, if
I say so myself.
Russia was one of the more impressive teams from the first wave of matches at Euro 2012, posting
four goals on the Czech Republic, including two by rising star Alan Dzagoev. The Russians' quest to
take a giant step out of Group A and toward the knockout round gets a bit tricker on Tuesday.
Slavek and Slavko (TSG is not sure yet which one is which) welcome you to the Euros
It's Euro time! You didn't think we here at TSG were going to let this competition slide thru
the cracks did you? Some of us here at TSG, need as many excuses as possible to post pictures of
handsome Franck Ribery.
The chase for Club Tijuana forward Joe Benny Corona just got a bit more interesting.Â
Corona has been called up by Mexico's Under-22 side for a pair of matches against Chile's
Under-22s. Corona is joined on the roster by another California native, Chivas de Guadalajara left
back Miguel Angel Ponce.
Sometimes, the Kansas City Royals actually spend money. They did so on Friday when they gave
Alex Gordon a $37.5 million contract over the next four seasons. Gordan is one of the best players
on the Royals and was one of the best hitters in the American League last season.
The contract calls for Gordan to make $6 million this year and then $9 million next year.

the 2011-12 season before signing a five year deal with the current German champions Dortmund for a
transfer fee of 17,5 million Euros.
Gems of the Lower Leagues: Matt Phillips is a post from: Just Football
It has taken less than a season for wingerMatt Phillipsto graduate from the periphery ofBlackpool's first-team
squad, to being one of the hottest prospects outside the Premier League.
Apparently, the best player in the world debate is fat from over judging from the recent
comments made by Argentine football legend Diego Maradona. The Al Wasl coach claims that old age is
starting to affect Pele's Judgement.
Now, it is starting to get amusing watching these fromer greats tearing into each other verbally
concerning the best player in the world so to end this debate once and for all (however impossible
that may be), we are asking for your opinion.

number of clubs including Arseanl who had shown an interest in him early last month.
Surprisingly, the reason why Schweinsteiger is opposed to Reus's move is because Reus is a
direct rival for his position in the team.

By Andrew Villegas Yeoman Dwayne De Rosario has one goal every 173 minutes this year. Sebastien Le
Toux has one every 270. Rising Star Brek Shea? One every 241 minutes. And Charlie Davies, that
death-defying, on-loan, one-time USMNT'er? He's scored one goal every 137 minutes, better than them
all. Yet, there Davies is every week, [.

While at the U.S. training camp Brek explained to the Miami Herald's Michelle Kaufman why he chose
soccer over football:
"Football was too much yelling, too strict, and soccer gave me more freedom and ability to
express myself.

two days.
We spoke with Stuart in this exclusive Q&A about his feelings about the return, his performance,
and his conversation with U.
When it was discovered today that Bobby Rhine passed unexpectedly of a heart attack, it hit the
greater MLS community fairly hard. Rhine had played 10 years with Dallas and just recently entered
the broadcasting field as a rapidly rising star. Fans in Dallas are holding a memorial this
evening. His family is asking for donations made in his name to the FC Dallas foundation.
Recently I've been spending some time analyzing designated players around the league. The
results of DPs on the field have been a mixed bag despite the immense amount of attention they
receive when they enter the league. Some are consistently in the pack of the best players in MLS.
Others barely see the field.
