Freestyle in Rio
If my imagination could expand just a little bit more, then this video is everything I would
expect from a Brazilian freestyle futebol video. Beautiful Brazilian scenery and skills filled with
high swank to spare. There are incomprehensible skills that simply give off an abstract aura of
athleticism.

QPR get twitchy...
It has been confirmed that QPR have blinked first and made the first move in the race to snafu
Chris Samba from Blackburn, lodging a £5 million bid for the collosal centre-half.
Uh-oh Adriano, what have you gotten yourself into this time? It seems
trouble never stops following the Corinthians player, who has sadly fallen out of favour with many
Brazilian fans because of his attitude. This time, however, the circumstances are in his
favour.
Found Kicking Around in Copacabana: The Kings of Convenience
The Kings of Convenience, one of our most beloved bands, have been touring South America these
past few weeks. Their latest stop was Brazil, more specifically Rio de Janeiro.
How the Daily Mirror and Premier League stars have given hope to this boy from the slums
of Brazil
No one needs much of an excuse to make an excursion to Rio de Janeiro – so when I was in
Brazil a few years ago for the Grand Prix, I took a trip to see a friend of mine who lives
there.
World Cup season has officially started with teams throwing in their hats to get a chance at a
series of qualifying rounds for the mundial in Brazil. However, as footballers fight for a
chance to compete and fans slowly build their savings accounts for the trip in 2014, many of
Brazil's host cities have yet to prepare for the incredible horde preparing to descend on them.
Universidad de Chile made club history last night by reaching their first ever continental final
in South America. The Chilean champions defeated Brazilian giants Vasco da Gama in last night's
Copa Sudamericana semi-final 2nd leg by two goals to nil and, thus, went through 3-1 on
aggregate.
Gustavo Canales and Eduardo Vargas were on hand to score the goals for Universidad who became
the first Chilean team to reach a major final of a South American club competition since Colo Colo
played in the final of the Sudamericana in 2006.
You know you love football. You love watching the players racing across the field with the smell
of cut grass setting fire to your team spirit. You sit at the edge of your seat when the players
get the ball down the field, avoiding the opposing team as one good whack against the ball with a
head or foot sends the ball past the goalie.

With the World Cup being played in Rio de Janeiro it gives soccer fans an excuse to look back on
the rich tradition of football in Brazil and the great players that have played for the
country.
There is no other player who has impacted the game quite like Pele. Over the course of his career
Pele led Brazil to three World Cup titles, winning his first championship at the tender age of
17.

The first half of the Brazilian Championship came to a close this weekend with a number of local
derbies highlighting the schedule. It's all part of a strategy to avoid teams fielding
second-string lineups in the final round of the competition, and the most fascinating matchup took
place on Sunday between Santos and Sao Paulo.
The Campeonato Brasileiro has reached the halfway stage and it once again is proving to be a
tightly fought contest with six teams at the top of the standings separated by just five
points.
Corinthians currently lead the way with 37 points from 19 games but they have already lost four
games this season including yesterday's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Palmeiras who, as a result of
the victory, maintained their sixth placed position and are not far behind the league leaders.

RIO DE JANEIRO (O REPÓRTER) - Ainda no inÃcio das Eliminatórias para a Copa do

Ronaldinho confirmed his good form by scoring a goal and helping set up another, but Flamengo was
held to a 2-2 draw by Internacional on Sunday thanks to the brilliance of Leandro Damiao. The
Internacional hitman is one of the rising stars of Brazilian soccer and was recently called up to
the national team along with Ronaldinho for the upcoming friendly against Ghana in London.

The last unbeaten in the Brazilian Championship fell on Thursday night, as Flamengo was thrashed
at home by Atletico Goianiense. Next up is a high-profile clash with Internacional on Sunday (3
p.m.), one that Wanderley Luxemburgo hopes will represent a return to normalcy for the Rio de
Janeiro giants, who suffered only their second defeat of the year and are three points behind
Corinthians.

No country has been more irritated by the emergence of Spain in recent years than Brazil, which
always took for granted being the main attraction at every tournament and the great purveyor of The
Beautiful Game. A quarterfinal clash at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup might not seem like much, but
Brazilians hope Sunday's triumph over Spain in penalty kicks was a small step towards putting their
universe back in order.
Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas is one of the four major football clubs in Rio de Janeiro along with
Flamengo, Fluminense and Vasco da Gama. Botafogo FR currently campaigns in the top tier of

The recent World Cup draw didn't receive nearly as much attention in Brazil as one might expect
thanks in large part to a spectacular game that same week between Flamengo and Santos, which
dominated the headlines. Flamengo came from three goals down to claim a 5-4 victory, and the two
star attractions didn't disappoint, as Ronaldinho and Neymar carried their respective teams.

The qualifying draw for World Cup 2014 was held in Rio de Janeiro yesterday. I think England has to
be the biggest beneficiary of the draw as they avoided Europe's top teams. England have been placed
in Group H against Montenegro, Ukraine, Poland, Moldova and San Marino. The toughest group is
probably Group I where Spain, France, Belarus, Georgia and Finland will battle it out.
