In the 15th round, Palmeiras finally reached the top of Campeonato Brasileiro. In the debut of
coach Muricy Ramalho, the new leader beat Fluminense 1-0. Diego Souza, one of the best in the
league, scored the only goal. Fluminense, on the other hand, seats on the 19th spot. The club has
not had a victory in 10 matches, which means that Renato Gaucho has not won yet in his return.

Grêmio trounce Corinthians
Mano Menezes' return to the estádio OlÃmpico ended in a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Grêmio.
Corinthians were blown away in the first-half, conceding three goals and having Jean sent off for
two yellow cards. Grêmio's tight marking and pacey attacks, meant there was no space or time for
any of Corinthians creative players.

São Paulo have wasted no time in replacing Muricy Ramalho and have announced the arrival of
Ricardo Gomes.
The 44-year-old coach was most recently with Monaco but has experience with Brazil's Olympic
team and clubs such as PSG, Bordeaux, Flamengo and Fluminense.

Freddy Adu finally made a start for AS Monaco, putting in a solid effort in a League Cup match
against Paris Saint-Germain. Unfortunately, Monaco fell to the resurgent PSG 1-0 on a 36th minute
goal by Fabrice Pancrate. Adu was replaced in the 70th by Park Ju-Young who was also unable to
produce an equalizer.
