Former NFL wide receiver Plaxico Burress surrendered to authorities on Tuesday to serve a two-year prison sentence on a weapons charge, the Manhattan District Attorney's office said.

Burress had been one of NFL's most high profile players with many of his games attracting those who are keen on online betting.
