It is great news that both Mikel Arteta and Thierry Henry are returning from injury this week, but

When Arsenal's first team are underperforming, Arsene Wenger has always been comforted by the fact
that he has had a plethora of promising youngsters ready to bring in and rejuvenate the team, but
even that may no longer be true. The Arsenal first-team may have lost three games in a row, but the
reserve side's [.
A couple photos of Michael Thomas. Sporting KC acquired the right of first refusal to Thomas
earlier today for a fourth round Supplemental Draft pick. Presumably he will be signed soon. Last
year Thomas trained with Sporting KC and even made an appearance in a reserve match as the often
seen but rarely named "Trialist 1".
Newcastle Reserves beat Wigan Reserves 3-1 at home this afternoon and Bognor Regis trialist Jason
Prior scored the last Newcastle goal on his Newcastle debut. Jason Prior scored a nice goal from
14 yeards out With Alan Pardew, John Carver and Steve Stone are in attendance the Reserves ran out

When the Carling Cup draw pitched Arsenal against Manchester City, Arsenal fans were already
anticipating a tough, nearly impossible to win match against the dominant team in the League at
present. Indeed, there is reason to believe so. The Manchester City squad is a very deep one with
immense quality – even players like Nigel [.

the afternoon levelled the game at the death [...]
The Euro 2012 play-offs are over and we now know all 16 teams who will be competing in Poland
and Ukraine next summer. Barring any injury issues, there will definitely be some Villa interest as
the Irish saw out their considerable advantage from the first leg against Estonia to book their
place in the finals with a 1-1 draw in Dublin.
In the final game of the year for Sporting KC, the Swope Park Rangers finished out the reserve
league season today at Swope Park against FC Dallas. The Rangers fell 5-3 to Dallas as Ruben Luna
scored 4 goals to help Dallas to the win. Luna opened the scoring in the 28th minute. Jeferson
equalized for the reserves in the 37th from the penalty spot after Soony Saad was fouled in the
box.
It's not just the Newcatsle first team that is doing so well this season. Patrick Nzuzi 19
year-old played at right back last night The win puts Newcastle 4 points clear of second placed
Sunderland in the Barclay's North Premier Reserve league, and they also have a game in hand, and
Newcastle Reserves have won five [.
No games won and no points on the table, this has been a dismal start to the season for Liverpool's
reserves team. Or, rather, that would be conclusion if you fail to look at the most significant
column, that for games played, the one that shows that this week's defeat at Newcastle was only
their second game of the season.
It's hard to know where Nile Ranger stands at the moment, and whether Newcastle will again try
to sell him in the next transfer window. Nile Ranger - does he have a future on Tyneside? But Nile
had a good game last night and scored two goals for the Reserves in their 3-2 win over Liverpool,
and he [.
The Swope Park Rangers fell in their reserve league game today against the Houston Dynamo 2-0 at

After each match the contributors to New England Soccer Today will rate the performances of
the New England Revolution players who made an appearance on a 1 to 10 scale (1 horrendous, 5
average, 10 perfection). This week Sean Donahue contributed ratings for the Revs Reserves 5-1 loss
to Columbus.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – Andrew Sousa gave the New England Revolution Reserves an early lead with a
well taken free kick, but the same defensive miscues that have plagued the first team doomed the
Reserves as the Columbus Crew stormed back to grab a 5-1 win on Sunday morning.
A young and deeply inexperienced Nottingham Forest side travelled to Belper Town on Wednesday to
face a Derby County team littered with experienced professionals. With the darkness of winter
closing in, and the soft rain moistening the lush, emerald green pitch, an atmospheric encounter
was expected and both sides duly delivered in quite some style [.
One of the many impressive youngsters at Newcastle is 19 year-old French central midfielder Mehdi
Abeid. Mehdi Abeid - in action at York This lad looks a star player of the future and we had
reported on Tuesday that he had joined up with the Algerian U23 side last week, but it seems in
the comments he has made to the [.

2-1 down in Dallas. From reports KC had a good run of play today controlling large portions of the
game, but couldn't capitalize on the chances. Dallas grabbed two goals in the first 16 minutes
through Ruben Luna and Bobby Warshaw.
It's not only the Newcastle first team that have made a good start to the season. Alan Pardew great
job at Newcastle so far so good Newcastle have 15 points from their first 7 Premier League games
and are sitting at 4th top of the table at the moment. But the Reserves side, managed [...]
John Carver was in charge of the Newcastle Reserves side last night in Lancashire, as a
strong second string Newcastle side easily beat Bolton 3-0. Alan Pardew - great credit to this
man but can it last? And as we reported earlier today Newcastle fielded a very strong side, and
they ended up very easy winners on the night.
Newcastle played a very strong Reserves side against Bolton last night and came away with a 3-0
win. Peter Lovenkrands in action last night And manager Alan Pardew traveled with the side

For the Newcastle Reserves team tonight both Davide Santon and Nile Ranger made starts for the
side, and Newcastle came through 5-3 winners, after going ahead 3-0 after only 22 minutes. David

days after that game he complained of a sore [.
Arsenal hosted Blackburn on Tuesday night in what was a frustrating night for both sides. The team
sheet included last weeks debutants Aneke, Ozyakup and Ryo (who is still short of fitness)! Neil
Banfield decided to try last weeks unused sub Nico Yennaris in an unfamiliar central midfield spot,
with under 18's Monakana, Ansah and [.
It may not make up for the loss last night between the first teams, but the Swope Park Rangers earn
a bit of revenge today defeating the Salt Lake reserves 1-0 thanks to an 88th minute penalty by
Davy Arnaud. Both teams created some chances in the first half, the best was probably CJ Sapong
hitting the post.
A very important part of the Newcastle squad this season is the youngsters, who can hopefully fill
out the squad and do well when they are given their chance in the first team. John Carver -
impressed with Newcastle youngsters Yesterday afternoon the young Newcastle Reserves side with
veteran goalkeeper Steve Harper getting a run-out, [.
If you were trying to figure out a way to make it from LIVESTRONG Sporting Park to Swope Park for
the reserve game against the Houston Dynamo, you can stop your planning. Today the team announced
that the Swope Park Rangers game against the Dynamo has been moved totally from this Saturday. The
game will now be played on Tuesday October 18th.
This coming Saturday was supposed to see a double header at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park between
Sporting KC and the Houston Dynamo with the reserves set to follow the first team. That plan has
now changed, likely due to the deteriorating conditions of the playing field at LIVESTRONG Sporting
Park. The reserve game will now be taking place at the club's training facility at Swope Park.

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution first team has struggled mightily over the past
month to hold on to leads and the reserves looked destined to follow suit on Friday morning against
Toronto FC after the visitors erased the Revs 1-0, 67th minute lead just seven minutes later.
Highlights from the NextGen Series will more than likely be a little thin on the ground and will
rely heavily on the participating clubs' own media departments. Fortunately, Ajax TV have done a
good job of putting together this video from our 2-0 loss in Amsterdam in the opening game last
week.
Of course, there might be a little bias in the edit, but this seems a fair reflection of the
game from as much as I could gather.
A Newcastle Reserve side beat Gateshead Reserves 5-0 at Darsley Park in Benton yesterday afternoon.
Daniel-Situ-Buyente on trial at Newcastle And Newcastle took the chance of giving some top
youngsters a game as Haris Vuckic, Shane Ferguson, Sylvain Marveaux, Nile Ranger and Mehdi Abeid
all played some part in the game.
It's being billed as the "Champions League of youth football", which is probably a massive
overstatement, but the NextGen Series is an interesting competition nevertheless. We're one of 16
teams across Europe taking part in this new Under-19 championship which kicked off with a handful
of games this evening, including our own Young Lions going down 2-0 to Ajax at their youth training
camp, De Toekomst Dutch for "The Future".
The Swope Park Rangers, Sporting KC's reserve side, moved their record in the reserve league this
year to 2-2-2 with a 1-0 win over the Colorado Rapids today at the Swope Park training complex. An
early goal by Soony Saad was the lone tally in the game. Both teams had some good chances, in a
game that was delayed for a period of time due to lightning.
Arsenal lost todays last pre-season friendly against Benfica and Arsene Wenger thinks that the
reason they were defeated was because we were missing key players. Okay, so lets have a look at the
team that played: Szczesny, Sagna, Vermaelen, Rosicky, Van Persie, Ramsey, Song, Djourou, Gervinho,
Arshavin, Gibbs Subs: Fabianski, Squillaci, Jenkinson, Chamakh, Traore, Frimpong, [.

Newcastle United's Reserve team were 2-0 down but showed good spririt in coming through to win the
game against FC Utrect by 3-2, and all 5 goals were scored in the last 31 minutes of the game. Joey
Barton hits Newcastle's first goal after 75 minutes This was the second friendly of their Dutch

The Swope Park Rangers fell in a reserve league game today out at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park to the
Chicago Fire. With Sporting KC set to take on Newcastle tomorrow, and a game against Toronto this
weekend, KC's lineup saw them field only six players that are actually on KC's roster. The other 5
starters, and all 5 substitutions were either trialists or Juniors players.
It would have been very hard while Joey Barton was at Manchester City or in his first couple of
years at Newcastle, to call him a shining example to the youngsters. Joey Barton now a good role
model for the bairns nice haircut too! But that's what Reserve team manager Peter Beardsley has
