Manchester United - Liverpool 7:30am - ESPN2 A highlight game based on reputation rather than the
Premier League table. Liverpool are 7th, 14 points behind second-place Manchester United with both
clubs on 24 games played.
Park Ji-Sung made his 200th appearance for United last weekend in our 3-3 draw with Chelsea.
When Park joined United for £2m in 2005 several people claimed it was just to appeal to the
Asian market in order to sell more shirts. Those people obviously didn't watch him play for PSV
against AC Milan in the Champions League a few months before we bought him.
The world's most over rated striker receives a three match ban for slapping Napoli's Salvatore
Aronica. To be fair Aronica also indulged in some extra-curricular activities against Antonio
Nocerino but Ibra's was a reputation call. He will miss crucial matches against Udinese and
Juventus.
By Benjamin Leinwand and Chris AndersonPrior to the start of the 2011 season, Major League Soccer teamed up with the Castrol Index to
deliver a more statistically advanced version of the match day player ratings. According to the
creators, "the Castrol Index objectively analyses player performance, tracking every move on the
field and assessing whether it has a positive or negative impact on a team's ability to score or
concede a goal.
When Arsenal collapse in comical style, such as from 4-0 up to draw 4-4 with Newcastle last
season, or conceding a goal seconds after equalising in the 3-2 defeat to Swansea, it feels
fashionable to say "only Arsenal could have lost a game like that".
And there's something to it, to be fair, our defence has generally been the worst in the top
four over the years, and we have a poor record in points lost from winning positions.
Liverpool's Raheem Sterling is building up a very positive reputation in the club's youth set-up,
with Ian Rush recently describing him as 'very similar to Michael Owen'. Former Liverpool
midfielder Jamie Redknapp is also a big fan of youngster, and hopes that he'll get a chance in the
first team sooner rather than later.

Here's Chelsea's latest acquisition, promising young Belgian winger Kevin De Bruyne (who
definitely has a whiff of the 'The Sherminator' about him), holding his new
uniform aloft for the cameras at Cobham after signing from Genk for £6.7 million earlier
today.
Kickettes, do you recall the veiled threat we (and many, many other members of the media)
received from legal firm, Schillings, on behalf of their clients, the Gerrards, requesting privacy
from the paps whilst out with their kids?
If not, read about it here.
Well recently, and as we rightly predicted, Lourdes made her grand entrance into the public
world via the same pages that pay Alex for her brainless ramblings, which OK!
If you had asked any Stevenage supporter a couple of weeks ago who Gary Smith is, the majority
would have replied 'Who?' It would have been a justified reaction because until his name began to
be linked with the vacant managerial position, Gary Smith's reputation within this country was,
well, non-existent.
On the weekend just past the Spanish daily newspaper, Marca, released what they claimed to be an
exclusive. The newspapers football journalists had found out that Jose Mourinho, the Real Madrid
coach, was dissatisfied with the level of hostility targeted in his direction and believing that
his work was not recieving the plaudits he felt it welcomed he was going to leave his position at
the end of the current season.
Westley worked his way up from a youngster in the organisation, his reputation for a great work
ethic showed from an early age. Rarely unable to work through illness or injury, he established
himself as a key member of the staff over many years. Always modest, and never one of the shining
stars he was the kind of solid and dependable team members that any organisation depends upon [.

The name of Mauro Zarate has featured before in these pages but stories are gathering momentum
today over a proposed loan move for the striker who is already playing on loan at Inter after
failing to nail down a regular slot at parent club Lazio.
The player's agent is certainly talking up the possibility of a move this month.
Remember Yuri Zhirkov? The man with a big reputation as one of the upcoming stars of European
football joined Chelsea for a fee of around £18m in 2009 and being honest, did little really to
cement his place in the team or force his way in. I think we could realistically, count on one hand
the amount of games he played well in for Chelsea.
Neil Warnock says he lost his Queens Park Rangers job as his reputation was "slowly poisoned" by
critics both inside and outside the club. He claimed a "lack of football experience" in the
hierarchy left QPR open to "manipulative" people.
The 63-year-old said he was unhappy fans and players were able to talk to owner Tony Fernandes
through Twitter.

"Re-Tweet this son you're f****n' s**t"
Hell hath no fury than a spurned football manager, particularly if it's Neil Warnock. The ex-QPR
boss, who tends to divide opinion (people either strongly dislike him or hate him), has hit out at
the influence of critics and players on owner Tony Fernandes, claiming that his own reputation was
"slowly poisoned" by outside forces with Twitter playing a key role in his downfall.
The Thai FA have more front than Brighton beach. A couple of years ago they promised to support
England's World Cup bid and in return England agreed to their request to play a friendly in Bangkok
earlier this year.
The Thais reneged on their promise and England, perhaps not surprisingly, cancelled their proposed
trip to Bangkok.
Liverpool's soon to be confirmed signing Joao Carlos Teixeira has quiet the reputation to uphold
after comming through Sporting Lisbon's talented academy which has produced stars such as
Christiano Ronaldo, Nani and Luis Figo.
He has already shown he can score infront of the kop after scoring against Liverpool in the
NextGen series game.
City now signing United players for oddjobs Those who felt that Owen Hargreaves would never be able
to hold down a regular place in the Manchester City team can feel some what vindicated by the news
that he's to be employed as a pitchside cameraman by the club. As if to reinforce his reputation

Lots of websites are going 'black' today, Wikipedia for example, to protest against proposed new
laws in the USA which will make everyone have to connect to the internet through AOL with all their
family filters turned on.
I was considering going black to bemoan our transfer policy, general crapness, toilet queues at
the stadium and 'The Wonder of You'.

Morning all, the dust has begun to settle a bit after Sunday's game against Swansea. We now have
a week to take stock, regroup and prepare ourselves for the game against United on Sunday.
A lot has been said about the litany of injuries we've suffered, meaning players are being
played out of position which affects our normal game and so on.
Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre insists any perception that Liverpool's handling of the Luis
Suarez affair means they take a soft stance on racism is "totally and utterly rubbish".
The Reds have come in for criticism in recent weeks for the way they have behaved during Luis
Suarez's unsuccessful defence against allegations he racially abused Manchester United's Patrice
Evra.
Ravel Morrison's bad boy reputation is such that Sir Alex Ferguson is currently considering
offloading one of the hottest talents to come through the Manchester United academy. Perhaps in a
last-ditch attempt to prove he is growing-up, Morrison has shown that he does not like to see
condiments being wasted and is determined to finish [.
The Philadelphia Union select Greg Jordan with the 32nd overall pick in the 2012 MLS
SuperDraft.
Jordan is a defensive type of midfielder, making him the fourth player on the Union that can
play in a central defensive midfield role (Brian Carroll, Gabriel Gomez and Amobi Okugo, as well).
He is a good passer of the ball and works hard throughout the midfield, a lot like Carroll.

With the 13th pick in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, the Philadelphia Union selected UCLA striker
Chandler Hoffman. The Hoff had 29 goals and 9 assists in three collegiate seasons, including an
astounding 18 goals and 6 assists in 2011.
An impressive combine performance didn't help Hoffman, who dropped much further than
expected.

The Ajax Experience x Sid Lee Architecture
Aside from my unwillingness to experience an angry pre-match speech from Frank de Boer, the new
Ajax Experience museum is one of the freshest things I've seen.
The city is completely related to its club: Amsterdam is Ajax, Ajax is Amsterdam.
Liverpool are now concentrating their efforts on financing a new stadium in Stanley Park, where
they have planning permission, rather than redevelop Anfield.
American owners Fenway Sports Group had been keen to renovate the current ground like they did at

Mirror: Why the FA's record means they can't be smug about Suarez and
racism
Having been immersed in the goings-on at Anfield and the Old Bailey over the past few weeks, it
feels as though the only word left in our vocabulary is "racism." Thankfully, if reluctantly,
Liverpool decided against appealing Luis Suarez's ban, choosing to lay aside their grievances and
limit further damage to the club's reputation.
If there was ever the slimmest chance that NB52 would return to Arsenal after his loan period at
Sunderland...er, not now surely? Check this out from today's Newcastle Chronicle
Admittedly it was back in September but it is still a new revaltion and yet another indiscretion
for a player who is doing his best to earn a reputation as a bit of a boy.

John Terry may sue Indian government, should probably focus on more important things...
As if sleeping around and shouting racist slurs weren't bad enough for John Terry's
reputation, it appears the Indian government has been using a blurred image of Terry for

Liverpool's blind loyalty to Luis Suárez leaves no room for contrition
Liverpool looked to have seen the light in not appealing against the verdict but club and player
still refuse to accept they are in the wrong At last Liverpool have seen sense. At least that was
the initial reaction when news broke that the club would not be appealing against the eight-match
ban and £40,000 fine imposed on Luis Suárez for racially abusing Patrice Evra.

this decision included further criticism of the FA and its panel but the club said it was for the
best that they did not appeal.
