If he's going to do it, it will have to be announced prior to the Democratic convention, set for
September 3, 2012. More than likely, it would get leaked to the press or be part of the campaign by
July. So, there's still time for President Obama to think it through.
For some time, Texas has been considered untouchable for Republicans. Major elections have been
owned by them. Texas has voted Republican for President, Governor and Senators for years.
But, Rick Perry is pushing hard to give Democrats a chance in these next elections by acting like a
person confounded by his beliefs, tongue-twisted with his verbal skills and unaware of the impact
of his actions.

interesting story about our little soccer rivalry we have brewing here in the Pacific Northwest. I
really want to believe that it's a genius piece of satire. But something tells me I'm giving the
author too much credit.
The rant is a bit unbalanced, and I doubt I'd sign my own name under it, but it's a perspective
that hasn't gotten a lot of airplay in the last week, so here you go. Via Feministing:
Go ahead, Obama has effectively told his troops in the Senate and the House: Keep
going, dear friends Harry Reid AND John Boehner, continue the war on the uninsured, the homeless,
the mortgage-foreclosed, Latino migrants, Muslim migrants, GLBT folks, sexually active
women.

Now, a group of House Republicans is launching a new stealth attack against union workers. GOP
Reps. Jim Jordan (OH), Tim Scott (SC), Scott Garrett (NJ), Dan Burton (IN), and Louie Gohmert (TX)
have introduced H.R. 1135, which states that it is designed to "provide information on total
spending on means-tested welfare programs, to provide additional work requirements, and to provide
an overall spending limit on means-tested welfare programs.
