Thought I'd bring this back to the front page again since I recently got an email asking about
the lack of HS stories.

I have updated my photo website to reflect my new St Louis efforts. All photos from 2008 to

After six plus years of coverage, it's time for this boy to bid you goodbye. I'm moving to St
Louis in mid-August.
I'm in discussions with several individuals and a few organizations about the possibility of
continuing my efforts here to create 'soccer junkies' as Jeremy Alumbaugh described it a few years
ago.
Devon Newport (Glendale/SSC) With The Ball
Devon Newport (SLU/Glendale 2009/Springfield SC) along with Jordan Hoffman of the Missouri State
Bears are playing for a U23 national title on Sunday. The Scott Gallagher squad, coached by
CBC/Columbia College grad Matt Mueller, face the Carolina Railhawks in the 2011 USASA National Cup
Finals in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Sunday morning.
If the fan vote is any indication, the MLS All-Star team will be heavy on the stars when they take
on English Premier League champions Manchester United in the 2011 AT&T MLS All-Star Game on July 27
at Red Bull Arena.
The First XI also includes three players who have never been named to the MLS All-Star team.
Springfield SC 94/95 Boys at Region 2 Tournament by Duane Moses
The Springfield SC 94/95 Boys will play against the Cincinnati Crew Jr's at 10am today in the U16
Boys semifinals.
There are several other teams from Missouri who have reached the semifinals as well including
the U13 Boys Sporting KC Jr's, U18 Girls Scott Gallagher (Cline & Hatz), U16 Girls JB Marine Wipke,
U18 Girls KCFC Intensity (Groom, Clark and other Liberty Jay's), U15 Girls KCFC Futura Academy and
in the U17 Boys, Scott Gallagher will face Lou Fusz Popovic ensuring one Missouri team will reach
the Finals.
The final day of group stage and everyone is still in a position to advance. The photos are from
the win on Sunday, including the PK goal by Josh McCutcheon, and are provided by Duane Moses who's
son Dallas (Catholic) is a midfielder for SSC. The boys kick off at 8am this morning needing a tie
to advance.

Hatz and their teammates their first win of the group stage.

A pair of goals in the first half held up for the win in their first Regional game. Goals were
scored by Jakob Neidig (Ozark) from Dallas Moses (Catholic) free kick and by Evan Craig (Catholic)
from Mitch Moncada's (Catholic) assist.

Congratulations to Tim Noonan, chosen as the 2011 Missouri Referee of the Year. A single referee
is chosen in each state on an annual basis by the National Federation of State High School
Associations. Tim was chosen to represent Missouri. Congratulations and well deserved sir.
Jack Jewsbury in Springfield, MO 2006
Happy belated birthday to Jack Jewsbury who turned 30 yesterday (Wednesday April 13th). Captain of
the Portland Timbers, he'll lead them onto the national stage tonight when they play their first
home game at the newly christened JELD-WEN Field. Chicago (1-1-1) comes into the game after a loss
at Seattle on Saturday.

Head Coach, Evan Palmer earned his 300th win tonight as the Nixa Eagles won 6-0 over the
Parkview Vikings.
Coach Palmer, who played collegiately at Missouri State and is the only Coach the Eagles have
had, began his career with Nixa in 1995 when the Boys program got it's start.

Recent midfield signing Jack Jewsbury has been named the Timbers captain for the 2011 season,
the club announced today.
"Jack is a good leader and an experienced professional with nine years in MLS," said coach John
Spencer in the Timbers official press release.

women's soccer coach Janet Rayfield announced the hiring of Jeff Freeman as an assistant coach on
Wednesday, effective immediately.
