The Germans are renown for being pretty darn good at everything. And we all know they are. One
of the many things on their "the things we're better than you at" list, just below "penalties", is
"producing world-class goalkeepers". You've just got to look at past players such as Oliver Kahn,
Andreas Kopke or Sepp Maier to justify this point.

This will not be an Arsenal related post. It's the Interlull and while there's been sufficient
topic of discussion to go about, I felt it would be nice to take a break and write about other
things for a change. Was suggested this wonderful site by WengerBoy1 on twitter and there's some
wonderful statistics on there.
Tomorrow sees the Arsenal step on the Stade Velodrome and take on the mighty Olympique
Marseille, for what is due to be an exciting clash for 1st place in Group F. With Olympiakos
winless and Dortmund disappointing, the Arsenal-Marseille clashes will likely dictate the final
standings of our group, so it's important to go and get a result out there tomorrow.
It's finally here, the Champions League, of course! And just a few hours
before kickoff, here's a really innovative ad by Heineken, featuring some great footballers in the
setting of an Opera house. The Champions League theme song itself goes off into its own opera

Seeing as though they're sponsoring this year's competition, this here is Heineken's new
'Legendary Football' Champions League viral campaign starring Clarence Seedorf, Ruud van
Nistelrooy, Patrick Vieira, Gigi Buffon and Rene Adler and if any of it makes sense to you then you
truly are a better man than I.
Complete memory loss.
Albeit involuntary and unfortunate in case of Leverkusen's goalkeeper Fabian Giefer. Giefer had
a game to forget anyway, after accidentally setting up Sami Allagui for Mainz's first goal in his
team's 2-0 defeat on Sunday. Late in the game he then suffered a concussion after colliding with
Mainz's Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting.
U.S. national team goalkeeper David Yelldell has reason to celebrate.
Yelldell has been named the starting goalkeeper for Bayer Leverkusen in the absence of incumbent
Rene Adler, who is recovering from offseason knee surgery. Yelldell beat out Fabian Giefer and will
start Leverkusen's season opener against Mainz on August 7.
Carlos Tevez could be returning to Corinthians.
According to reports out of England, the Brazilian power has made Manchester City a £35 million
offer for the Argentine forward, who played there from 2004-2006 prior to joining the Premier
League.
Tevez' departure from Manchester City seems to be a certainty, but a major team in Europe was
expected to be his next destination.
Less than four months after making his U.S. national team debut, German-born goalkeeper David
Yelldell has made the jump from Bundesliga 2 to the German Bundelisa after signing with Bayer
Leverkusen.
Yelldell enjoyed a strong campaign with Bundesliga 2 side MSV Duisburg, helping the club reach
the German Cup finals last season.
Was it a bird? Was it a plane? German NT keeper Rene Adler has no clue what just flattened him, but
the herd of rampaging and appallingly shallow Kickette Soldier Girls he sees heading towards Mario
Gomez and Mesut Ozil may provide some pointers.
English speaking BVB fans are on cloud nine. Their German speaking counterparts are on cloud
seven. But maybe there's a way to bring the two together for the big party on May 14th. Roman
Weidenfeller will volunteer as a translator. A 2-0 victory over Nuremberg clinched Dortmund's
seventh German championship and the first title after nine years, thanks to Leverkusen doing, what
Leverkusen does best.
DORTMUND, Germany — Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer produced an outstanding performance on Friday
to earn his side Schalke 04 a point after a goalless draw at Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund.
With Germany set to face Italy in a friendly here at Dortmund's Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday,
Neuer boosted his chances of facing the Italians [.
Manchester United: The search for a new number one begins is a post from: Just Football
With news of Edwin van der Sar's impending end of season retirement,
Manchester United and Sir Alex Ferguson now have the huge task of replacing the
big Dutchman. Of course at the age of 40, the news has come as no shock, but there were no doubt
many, including Sir Alex himself, hoping that Van der Sar would stick around for just one more
season.
Bundesliga 2010/11 Team of the 'Hinrunde' is a post from: Just Football
With the Bundesliga season recently getting back underway, rejuvenated after a
healthy 4-week winter break, we thought it about time to take a look back at the first half of the
season ('die Hinrunde') and pick out a team of the league's best performers.
Edwin van der Sar has made it official. He will be retiring at the end of the season. Which
leads to the big question, who replaces him?
The last time United went through this was when Peter Schmeichel left and that was not pretty as
United really struggled for years to replace Schmeichel and it wasn't until Van der Sar was signed
that United got some stability at that position.

DORTMUND, Germany — Borussia Dortmund extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to 13
points on Friday, blitzing second-placed Bayer Leverkusen with three goals in just six minutes for
a 3-1 win at home. Having already begun 2011 with a ten-point lead, Dortmund hit second-half goals
in quick succession from teenager Mario Goetze [.
Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Rene Adler has revealed that as a kid he had Manchester United
posters all over his bedroom walls.
The club revealed earlier this season that the goalie has a special clause in his contract which
specifies that if Manchester United offer the asking price, they have to sell him, so intent is he
to his dream of being a United player.
With rumours Edwin van der Sar will retire at the end of the season, Sir Alex Ferguson is
looking to stock up on decent keepers in a bid to find a suitable replacement. Anders Lindegaard
has already joined from Aaeslund in Norway and Bayer Leverkusen stopper Rene Adler is the latest
name linked to the club.
Manchester United's dire needs for a new quality goal keeper to replace the aging Edwin Van Der
Sar, has attracted many suitors as the latest news revealed that one of Germany's young talented
keeper, Rene Adler, reportedly is eying a move to Old Trafford.
The Bayern Leverkusen's goalie said that despite still respecting his current club, the keeper
does have another ambition which one of them is replacing Peter Schemeichel's legacy at United.
