At last the 'maybe' penalty goes our way and Van Dijk steals the first half from Adelaide. Reinaldo, Van Dijk and Nichols where way too strong for Adelaide's defence. Reinaldo and Van Dijk's
one touch passing was fantastic to watch. We need to see more of this at home. Mitch scored a
cracker that hit the bar, bounced in - behind the line, then out. Click to continue reading...
The two Brazilian clubs still in the Copa Sudamericana did not start well the quarter-finals of
Copa Sudamericana. Botafogo and Fluminense will have a lot of work if they plan to advance to the
semis. Botafogo visited Cerro Porteno in Paraguay and lost 2-1. Reinaldo scored for Bota, but if
the club from Rio wants to advance, it must win at Maracana.
The 28th round of Brasileirao was big obstacle for the leaders of the tournament. Palmeiras, Sao
Paulo, Goias and Atletico-MG failed to win. The only side rubbing its hand and smiling is Inter, as
it pocketed 3 points.
On Thursday, Palmeiras received Avai at home knowing that on the day before Sao Paulo had failed
to win.
THE 'Football Gods' have a sense of humour, eh? Yesterday's game against Brisbane was possibly one of Perth's worst performances this season and
yet they managed to win 4-2. That's football, folks. Brisbane, admittedly, were nowhere near full strength, though they had a intimidating front three
of Henrique, Reinaldo and Sergio Van Dijk. Click to continue reading...

Her team may be at the bottom of the Brasileirao table but Sport Club's Wanessa
Matos is this year's newly elected Musa do Brasileirão after
winning 55% of the votes! The annual "beauty pageant" is held alongside the Brasileirao and every
team in the league submits their own beauty queen.
Okay I know its been a long time since we gave you a Brasileirao Wrap, but we'll be on top of it
from now till the end of the season. On Sunday, São Paulo's 9-game unbeaten streak and 7-game winning streak came to an end
dramatically. Paulo Baier's header in the 86th minute beat a late charging Rogerio Ceni to give
Furacão the win. Click to continue reading...
Placar magazine, the most traditional and popular soccer magazine in Brazil, put together in its
June issue a ranking with the biggest salaries in Brazilian football. The leader? Ronaldo,
obviously. And as a reminder: Nowadays, US$1 = R$2.05.
New strip out today, made local ABC TV - Sergio and Reinaldo as models. Orange home shirt with
maroon shoulder tops. OK, where do I get one. Lots of interest in the Celtic game. Expect a sell out. And on that Miron is saying why isn't State Govt paying for Fulham game. Old spinner Miron is
missing the point. Click to continue reading...

County and QPR. Click to continue reading...
Moore, McKay and Miller (new record 4 in 4). Sep ups by Van Dijk and Reinaldo. Some poor defence from Roar - good keeping Reddy. Click to continue reading...
The Roar off season focus on attack and neglect of defence has come to roost. A-League teams are
usually built from the defence forward. After two games of domination and no result, the Roar either had to show their striking talent has
teeth or face the consequences of an off night. The Central Coast defence was a solid wall. Click to continue reading...
Can't wait to see Melbourne and Sydney playing at home this weekend. Both of the big city clubs
have shown they have enough talent and money to keep me awake this year... Melbourne might have the luxury of leaving Archie Thompson on the bench. Wow! And Sydney still have John Aloisi to come in. Click to continue reading...

It must really be painful these days to be a Rapids supporter. From fights with security to
confrontations with Fernando Clavijo himself. Now it appears that for the 2nd time this year the
Rapids will miss their transfer target. Before they were outbid by Korean K-League side Busan. This
time they can't sign the 24 year old Brazilian due to the MLS salary cap. Click to continue reading...
Well Frank is saying Sergio (or Sergiho as the Australian calls him) plus Tim plus Reinaldo equals
trouble. I certainly hope so. Maybe this is why the Charlie Miller thing was wavering? Can the Roar
buy Charlie as well - the fabled 'playmaker'? (Could it be that we get Charlie too?) In a way I am not surprised to see the big guy back. Click to continue reading...
The Colorado Rapids have signed Brazilian midfielder, Bruno Guarda, through the
league's lottery system. Guarda will take the roster position of the unfortunate Justin
Hughes who has been placed on the season-ending injury list. Get better soon Justin! The

The FFA has run smack into a quandary. Target fostering the game at home by: a. Making each game attract as big an audience as possible or b. I have my Palmeiras tickets for Saturday 12 July. Palmeiras are from São Paulo. Their team for
the Lang Park match is may include Juninho. Yep the Sydney FC Juninho. In the past their team has
included: Denilson, Marcos, Rivaldo, Roberto Carlos and Cafu. It promises to be a very exciting
game and well worth the $20 (father-son) general entry. Click to continue reading...
Thanks to FC Rocky for putting together all the gains and losses in players the Rapids have had the
last couple of days. The 3rd was an MLS roster deadline so it was the usual time in the spring to
cut players.
Yesterday, March 4th, the MLS held a waiver draft for those players that were cut. Brandon
Prideaux was picked up by the Chicago Fire [Red Card on Prideaux, here]
Of note the Rapids also signed a Brazilian player they were pursuing.
Tough break for Colorado Rapids fans, Queensland Roar striker Reinaldo announced that he was not
signing with the MLS club yesterday. Instead he will sign with Korean K-League side Busan I'Park. A
deal was in place for the 23-year-old striker to join the Rapids this week but the Korean side came
in with a late proposal [. Click to continue reading...
Rating: 5 (Very good) An update on the A-League's Reinaldo coming to MLS. Reports out of Australia have linked the 23 year old Brazilian striker to an imminent move to the
Colorado rapids. Reinaldo Elias da Costa currently plays his football for the Australian A-League
side Queensland Roar and had previously been linked by us and others to Real Salt Lake. Click to continue reading...
As you may have heard, the Colorado Rapids are pursuing Reinaldo (Reinaldo Elias da Costa). He's a
6'4" left-footed 23 year-old striker that started to show what he was capable of doing in scoring 9
goals for the Queensland Roar in the Australia's A-League this last year (remember, their summer
season just ended; they're on Earth's rear end). Click to continue reading...
Figuring they had shot their wad for several years when they signed Christian Gomez, word that the
Colorado Rapids slapped a discovery claim on some Brazilian cat named Reinaldo surprised me a
little.  "Ambition" and "Colorado Rapids" appear in about as many sentences as "spendthrift" and
"New England Revolution. Click to continue reading...
Real Salt Lake are hoping to do in 2008 what DC United did in 2007 and grab a quality Brazilian
from Australia's A-League. The player Real has in mind is Queensland Roar's striker Reinaldo. Reinaldo has been with the club for a little over two season, but really only came into his own
over the second half of the current campaign. Click to continue reading...
The Dynamo arrived in Hawaii over the weekend in preparation for the Pan-Pacific Championship this

What could very well be a good find for FC Dallas, word has it today that the club is looking very
heavily in signing Chilean forward Reinaldo Navia. Sources around Dallas tell me the club is indeed
looking at the 29-year-old striker, who is currently with Argentina's Racing Club, to fill the
scoring void now that [. Click to continue reading...
Rating: 4 (Good) Reports out of Australia have linked the 23 year old Brazilian striker to the Utah club. Reinaldo
