Peyton Manning wants to keep playing football. Even though he has a neck injury that has
required three surgeries, there's no quit in the quarterbacking legend. While the talk regarding
whether or not he'll play for the Indianapolis Colts will continue, one thing is for certain: he'll
play somewhere.
Stop me if you have had heard this story before. An Arsenal players original injury is
misdiagnosed and during his rehab, he gets injured again. This scenario almost cost Thomas
Vermaelen all of last season, and now it is happening to Jack Wilshere. Its like Groundhog Day all
over again.
Wilshere, whose original stress fracture injury was misdiagnosed, underwent surgery in the fall
and was expected to make his first appearance in an Arsenal shirt this season in the next few
weeks.
Having already confirmed to miss out the whole season due to a serious knee injury, Lucas Leiva
decided to return back in England for his rehabilitation process, leaving Brazil where he
previously received treatment.
Lucas revealed that his recovery process is right on schedule and getting back to Liverpool
would be much better for him since he can stay close with his teammates and also fans, who have
been very supportive during his tough times.
Norwich City have completed the signing of Jonny Howson from Leeds United. A fee was agreed last
week, but the Canaries have now confirmed the transfer after the midfielder completed his medical
at Carrow Road.
Those who assess in play betting strategy note how the signing is one of many Norwich have made
from outside of the Premier League as they build a strong squad to continue the success Paul
Lambert has already brought to the club.
Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has returned to the club to continue his rehabilitation from a
season-ending knee injury and hopes to begin gym work in four weeks' time.
The 25-year-old has spent the past six weeks in his native Brazil, where he underwent surgery to
repair the anterior cruciate ligament damage suffered in the Carling Cup quarter-final win at
Chelsea in November.
Very sad news for the U.S. WNT today as it was confirmed via an MRI that defender Ali Krieger
had in fact torn the MCL and ACL in her right night after being brutally tackled in the USA's
opening match win over the Dominican Republic.
We are happy to report that she is handling the situation extremely well and is sincerely
appreciative of the outpouring of support from fans across the world.
Welcome to The Yorkies' regular off-season rumour roundup - "The Rumoumeter". Too busy to keep your

are hot - and which ones have hit the back burner. Some of the rumours have weight - others little
more than whispers; we take their temperature with.
There has been one story that has cheered me up today about our beloved blues and that's
confirmation that Sam Hutchison has earned himself a new contract to the end of next season. Not
bad for someone who had to retire with injury a while ago!.
I posted on my blog before that Hutchison is an inspiration and this news confirms the case.
Out of the blue Chelsea defender Sam Hutchinson has signed a new one-and-a-half year contract at
Stamford Bridge despite retiring more than a year ago. The 22-year-old hung up his boots in August
2010 due to a knee injury. He had played four times for the Blues and had been singled out by Jose

After just four first team appearances for Chelsea, with three of those coming from the bench,
Sam Hutchinson decided to retire from football in 2010 after suffering a serious knee injury. This
was a tragic tale of a youngster, highy-rated by his former manager Jose Mourinho, who had to give
up his dream.
In the absence of real news, as the Interlull takes hold rather more quickly than we might have
liked, I am very grateful of the chance I got yesterday to visit Arsenal.
I took a CattleAir flight, was very kindly picked up and dropped off at the training ground by
Lewis Hamilton's driving instructor where I met Tom (from Arsenal).

Real Madrid sent a message of support to a former member of their number before their game
against Osasuna this weekend, turning out in 'Forza Cassano' shirts hours after the Milan forward
left hospital to begin his rehab from heart surgery...
A little bit 'touchy-feely' in execution, but the sentiment's coming from the right place.
Last summer I heard rumours that Paul Gascoigne was dead. Unlike the rest of the rubbish that
circulates the ether, sadly this had the ring of truth. He had been looking more pale and drawn
than ever and the stories more bizarre, if that were possible.
Gazza stopped being daft as a brush years ago but the nation kept on laughing.

Dyer is stretchered off in August after lasting six minutes against Bolton
He might not be the most likeable footballer around, but even the most hard-hearted of you is
sure to feel some sympathy for the plight of QPR's Kieron Dyer.
From the BBC: Steven Gerrard said earlier in September: "Since coming out of hospital my rehab has
gone really well. I'm really happy and positive again. My groin is as strong as it's ever been."
"My groin is tested when ... Continue reading →
Carlos Tevez: I went into rehab for depression and eating binge Sport People.co.uk.
Carlos Tevez just can't seem to keep himself out of the media these days and news of his
"binge eating" dilemma is just one more addition to the chaos surrounding his life at the
moment.
No longer a first choice at The Etihad Stadium, the Argentine striker is desperate to gain
favor with manager Roberto Mancini, with whom he has had a running battle of disagreements with
since the Italian took the managers job.
Steven Gerrard has welcomed the return of "top professional" Craig Bellamy to Liverpool FC and
backed him to make a big impact this season.
The Liverpool skipper was delighted with the deadline day swoop for the Welsh striker who completed
a free transfer from Manchester City.
Bellamy is back at the club he left four years ago and Gerrard is confident the 32-year-old will
prove to be a real asset for boss Kenny Dalglish.
Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard says he hopes to return for the Reds' September 18 clash
against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
The England international has not featured since March due to a groin injury. After surgery in
April, his recovery was further delayed by an infection which put him back in hospital in July and
ruled him out of Liverpool's first matches of the new campaign.
From the outside, it appears as if Oscar De La Hoya has it all. He's a boxing legend with a
flourishing business, good looks and a likeable personality. However, Oscar De La Hoya recently
admitted that he thought about suicide after hitting rock bottom in the last few years.
Oscar De La Hoya's rock bottom included alcohol and cocaine abuse.

Stars midfielder Ely Allen went down with what looked to be a serious injury in the July 9th
game against the Carolina RailHawks. The former LA Galaxy player went down in a heap on a
non-contact play which is always worrisome.

We were all disappointed when Sam Ricketts ruptured his Achilles last February. It's no secret
that our squad has the depth of a kiddie pool, and Ricketts was starting to look quite good as
well. Well that was four months ago, and while Sam has made a lot of progress, thanks to an
interview with the official site, it's clear he still has a long way to go.
We all must find ways to entertain ourselves in the offseason. Some turn to other sports, pick
up crochet, or run a footy academy in Iceland. Other's such as the ever entertaining Stuart Holden,
turn to American soccer to fill their time. While working on his rehab in America, Stu took
sometime to support his home league and attended the Philadelphia Union-Sporting Kansas City
match.
Stuart Holden confirmed, through Twitter, today that he will attend the Philadelphia Union's
June 22 game against Sporting Kansas City after persuasion from Union fans. He tweeted the
following to @Jersha (who you may recognize from Sons of Ben and 'Stache Bash related posts on the
Brotherly Game):
@Jersha haha I will be there on 22nd!

Chivas USA may be looking to develop the best youth program in MLS, but plans for a potential
"All-Southern California" Chivas USA appear to be overblown.
Following a pair of recent reports that have come out in the last week stating that the
Rojiblancos are intending to field an "All-SoCal" team, General Manager Jose Domene clairified the
statements in an interview with MLSsoccer.
Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard is determined not to allow the fear of injury change his style
next season.
The England midfielder has been out since March after an operation on a groin problem with which he
had been struggling for most of the season.
But although he turns 31 next Monday, Gerrard has no plans yet to adapt his all-action game in
order to make things easier on his body.
Over the weekend, we said signs indicated that Oscar De La Hoya was having marriage problems. We
used Oscar De La Hoya's Twitter account as evidence. Well, it turns out we were right! TMZ is
reporting that cocaine use by the boxing legend led to him to marital infidelity. As a result,
Oscar De La Hoya checked into rehab.
ROME — Brazil forward Alexandre Pato will miss the Copa America after injuring his right shoulder
in AC Milan's final match of the Serie A season. Pato was carried off on a stretcher in the 71st
minute of Sunday's 0-0 draw with Udinese. Milan physician Maurizio Gevi told Italy's Sky TV that

Positive news arrives from Liverpool camp as the club's talismanic captain, Steven Gerrard,
reportedly could return back into the pitch for the Reds upcoming league game against West Bromwich
Albiom this Saturday.
That possibility was revealed by the player himself who stated that his condition is getting
better and should things went well, Gerrard believes he can already take part in the next league
game although starting might not be the first option.
Steven Gerrard is hoping to make his return from a groin injury in Liverpool's next game against
West Bromwich Albion.
The midfielder underwent a groin operation earlier in March and was initially expected to be
sidelined for a month.
The injury forced Gerrard to miss England's Euro 2012 qualifying win over Wales on Saturday, but he
is ahead of schedule in his recovery.
There is a myriad of good highlights of his game against Columbus, in which he scored twice, as
well as some of his rehab... but this one is a quality one.Video: 723footballfilms

Rennes midfielder Sylvain Marveaux has denied reports that he has agreed a deal to move to the
Premier League with Liverpool in the summer.
Marveaux, a former France Under 21 international, is out of contract with the surprise package of
Ligue 1 at the end of the current campaign and was quoted in The People as claiming to be close to
a move to Anfield.
According to the Express and Star, Wolverhampton boss Mick
McCarthy admitted that he wants midfielder Jamie O'Hara, who is on loan
from Tottenham, at the club for a long time. McCarthy said,
"He has already made a difference to us and it's great to have him around the place as well as
in the team," said McCarthy .
Three players are missing from Arizona right now for the final part of the team's preseason
training, Teal Bunbury, Ryan Smith, and Konrad Warzycha were all left behind as the team departed.
Bunbury was expected, Smith is disappointing, and Warzycha is surprising.
Bunbury's absence was expected after his dislocated elbow.

On a windswept day in Arizona after another preseason training session, Steve Zakuani
reminisced.
"I remember my first year when I came in, we went down to Ventura (Calif.)," Zakuani said.
The injury that forced American defender Oguchi Onyewu to leave Wednesday's FC Twente match
against PSV Eindhoven has turned out to not be serious.
According to SBI's Avi Creditor, who spoke to Onyewu on Thursday, Onyewu suffered a muscle
injury in his rib cage that will require some rest and rehab, but he isn't expected to be sidelined
for an extended period of time.
U.S. goalkeeper Hope Solo is back in WNT training camp for the first time since undergoing major
shoulder surgery last September. She's not diving or taking part in any drills, but she is doing
quite a bit of rehab, doing some handling and lots of kicking. Sore she is, but also very happy to
be back training.
