supporters and pun-lovers alike as The Reds officially announced the signing of Chilean
international defender Miguel Aceval today. The announcement concludes a signing-process that has
been rumoured since December but spent the last few days floating around MLS red-tape limbo.

The Philadelphia Union's preseason is starting to become more notable not for who is in camp but
for the attackers who are spending time in England.

Villa for the next 10 days.
Headline over on dcunited.com says...
DC hope international scouting yields signings soon
Smacks of magical thinking doesn't it? Go scouting, pray a bit, and check under the tree to see
what Santa Transfer Window has left you. Of course, I realize that headlines can often be
misleading, and perhaps I'm reading a bit too much into it.
Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish says he has been told by Liverpool counterpart Kenny Dalglish the
Reds are not interested in signing Darren Bent.
McLeish was speaking after watching his side reach the fourth round of the FA Cup with a 3-1
victory at Bristol Rovers.
England striker Bent, 27, who joined Villa from Sunderland a year ago, has been linked with a move
away, with Liverpool reportedly among the favourites, and he played in Saturday night's win at the
Memorial Stadium.

After two years of take, take, take, MirrorFootball has decided to give something back to the

In case you thought this list wasn't big enough, two more loaners to be added to the list.
Bjorn Helge Riise recently joined Portsmouth on loan until the November 7. And
turns out this fella named Richard Barroilhet joined Finnish club Vaasan
Palloseura until October 31 way back in August.

Arsene Wenger will be busy this summer in the transfer market, but when looks at bringing
players in he has to negotiate carefully as there is a small army of Arsenal players who were
scattered throughout Europe.
Of the players plying their trade, Pedro Botelho is the most likely player to
make the Arsenal first team squad this season.
Before the 2010 SLeague season kicked off there were many who felt that Gombak United stood a fair
chance of securing their first ever title. Coached by Australian Darren Stewart they were a side
brimming with attacking flair and defensive stability.
Within a few weeks of course the dream was well and truly splattered by the red tape of Singapore
officialdom.
In late 2006, when the then San Jose Earthquakes announced they were relocating to Houston, a city
that had never had a MLS franchise, the thinking was that it would be easier for the team to get a
stadium deal done in Houston than it would be to get one done in the San Jose area. It's taken over
four years, but all the necessary government votes, financing, and red tape has been handled so
that the Houston Dynamo will be able to break ground on Saturday February 5, 2011 at the stadium's
location on the east edge of downtown Houston.
The Chicago Fire have re-signed Dasan Robinson. Frank Klopas said:
"We value Dasan's commitment to the Fire and are very excited to have him back for his sixth
season with the club," said Fire Technical Director Frank Klopas. "Dasan is a hard working,
versatile defender who brings a keen understanding of the game and a strong defensive mindset to
our back line.
Will have to find some way to chip back into Wenger's good books
Let me start by saying that Jamie Redknapp is an idiot. He's father is a twitch, the son an
idiot. I'm sure somewhere last season or the season before, he was questioning the credibility of
Arsenal's defence. The same defence that had William Gallas.
