My post-match report on the Red Bulls-Galaxy game for MLSnet.com, from the New York
point-of-view.
Juan Carlos Osorio called the three points "massive" but the way in which they got them
speaks volumes. Not only did they put the clamps down on Landon Donovan and David Beckham, the
Bulls showed quite a bit of character after Alan Gordon's equalizer.
(Summary is not available.)
Marc DeGrandpre left the managing directors position vacant. And after a six
month search, plus a visit from the Salzburg ownership, the Red Bulls have a new face manning the
ship.
Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Erik Stover.
Taking a look at his "resume," there are definitely pro's and con's to the hire.
Just got back from downstairs. I had the chance to talk to Dave van den Bergh and asked him what
David Beckham said to him when the Galaxy captain barked at a fallen van den Bergh in the second
half. He smiled and said "I, uh, I don't know".
After our chat as he walked away, he turned around, smiled and said "I won't repeat that.
Here is audio of Juan Carlos Osorio and Juan Pablo Angel at the press conference following the New
York Red Bulls' 2-1 win over the Galaxy on Saturday.
Primero hablan en espanol pero tambien contestan unas preguntas en ingles.
Before we get off to yet another rant, I present to you the RB OFFSIDE TOP 10!
The Top Ten Excuses for Being Pwnd by the Chicago Fire:
#10 - It was hot out - and everyone knows Red Bulls hate heat
#9 - The field turf in Giants Stadium cooked most of the rubber off our players cleats.
Ahhhh another thursday night means another edition of MLS Primetime Thursdays, with this weeks
matchup taking place up in Maple Syrup-Ville as the Red Bulls take on Toronto FC. It should be a
good matchup as Toronto isn't the example of soccer futility anymore and the Red Bulls have been
playing pretty decent the last couple games.
Hey everyone. Its been a busy news day:
+ Eric Brunner, our 2nd round pick and first pick in the 2008 draft, has
decided to forgo the meager amount of money that befits a developmental player and will begin
exploring options in "USL and Europe" according to his agent (SBI has the scoop).
3 - LD with a shot, but Conway with a diving save
4 - Alan Gordon! It looked like a goal, but it's called back for offsides. Too late for the
confetti guys, though, who already cut loose.
6 - Sean Franklin with a sliding tackle stops an NY attack.
9 - NY is actually having the better of possession, though LA has had better chances.
Audio of my little chat with New York's Danleigh Borman following Saturday's 2-1 win over the
Galaxy.
Hey y'all.
Before anything, I would like to address this major issue: I HATE ALLERGIES. Last year was the
first year I had ever gotten em, and I hate it even more this year. Absolutely hate.
But on the bright side - I did catch 6 bluefish and a striper this week. So spring is good for
something.
Well, Chad Barrett already scored, but I was having brunch.
31 - Announcers talking about Juan Pablo Angel's back problem.
33 - Usually I harp on English announcers for not talking about the game, but this time, the
Spanish-speaking ones have gone off on a long tangent about FC Dallas firing Steve Morrow.
So my prediction was only half right.
The Bulls take one away from the surging Maple Leafs, with a well earned point on the road. They
really did well in keeping possession and putting on pressure - but the finishing was completely
ghost.
MAN OF THE MATCH
Seth Stammler impressed me tonite.
Welcome back.
So while I was conducting this interview, there were kids sitting all around, doing homework,
reading, minding their own business, and sporting their local Colleges gear.
The guy pictured here with Freeman? Well, meet Morris.. As I was conducting the interview,
Morris was deep into some textbook and papers.

This is a cool little spot running on MSG promoting the LA game, featuring Beckovan. Remember,
the game is on 10:30pm Saturday, and Running with the Bulls is on at 10. Only on MSG.
Thanks to Iced Media for the hook up.
I got the chance to talk to Danleigh Borman about his goal. I asked him, somewhat jokingly, if he
would become the Red Bulls' new offensive weapon now that he scored a goal.
"I just hope to play again the next game, you know."
Juan Pablo Angel scored in the 78th minute to give the New York Red Bulls a 2-1 victory over the
Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night. The goal came just one minute after Alan Gordon had tied the
game. Borman added his first goal for the Red Bulls, who extended their unbeaten streak to four
games.
David Beckham received his first yellow card in the season after he collided with van den Bergh.

The Red Bulls have never found the ugly win - even when they were known as the Metrostars.
Juan Carlos Osorio is bucking that trend.
Surviving what seemed to be a none stop second half onslaught, the Red Bulls take a crucial
victory on the road against the Beckham/Donovan led Galaxy, earning an important three points, and
now going undefeated in their last four games.
First off, good looks to "BriGuy" for this find on the Red
Bulls Reader.
You have to love Danes flip into nothingness - but more needs to be shown of that spectacular
goal celebration.

So here we are, the final part of this trilogy. What have I learned so far? Well, Hunter
is a straight shooter who isnt shy about giving an opinion - a refreshing change from the cookie
cutter responses athletes usually give to dance around questions. I mean, how many times can you
hear "Well, I do it for the team" or "The only thing that matters is
winning"?
So I walked into my building today to get to my apartment. I head upstairs and the dog is going
nuts - its been like 8 hours since I walked him last. But there is a problem - Boca v.
Atlas was already started, in the Copa Libertadores quarterfinals. As the
whining reached a fever pitch, I swung open the door, and "Dexter" ran out to the
hallway.
