For as bad a stadium as The Swamp could be, Giants Stadium was the backdrop for a few of the most
outlandish goals you'll ever see. Mathis' marathon goal against Dallas, Woly's infamous upper 90
banger, and Youri Djorkaeff and Juan Pablo Angel's zero-angle game-winners were all set in that
soccer purgatory in East Rutherford.

Gregan'em (pronounced like the Southernism "Momma'nem"*) take the show on the road to Harrison for
the laying of the final piece of sodding sod. They're also joined by special guests Tab Ramos &
Ritchie Williams to talk stadia, New Jersey stuff and playoffs. They also prove that --standing
next to Ramos & Williams they are the tallest team of pundits in the American soccersphere.

the background; with apologies to Seattle fans, blue & green never looked so good together. And
most importantly get an earful of hot playoff talk from Greg, Jason, Shep & Shep's mustache.

On a cold and rainy night at the swamps of the Meadowlands, this was the final performance on
the soccer side at Giants Stadium. Yes the season has been lost since the middle of June, but that
doesn't mean the club can't try to play for pride and knock off Toronto FC from the playoffs.

Just in case you were thinking of brushing up on some of the local languages before heading to
South Africa for World Cup 2010, you should know that watching this clip is far cheaper than buying
Rosetta Stone: Afrikaans Edition. You'll never learn how to find a toilet or order a beer with this
but at the very least you'll still have money to buy the beer you can't order.

Here's a video of a couple of Brooklyn boys breaking one of my cardinal rules for New York
area-living: never cross two rivers in one trip. If you have to go from the BK to The Dirty Jersey
make a pit stop in the city for a drink, a meal or anything to break up the trip. I find that it
makes the journey less epic.

One week to go, and this is where we stand:
As the table stands now, this would be the playoff matchup –
WESTÂ
Los Angeles vs Seattle
Houston vs Chivas
EAST
Columbus vs  Colorado
Chicago vs Toronto
Remember, the first tie-breaker is head to head competition, not goal
difference.

No, I'm talking about Dietrich Mateschitz's millions laid out like a...well actually yeah, I guess
I am talking about that since he's kinda bankrolling this whole miracle along the Passaic. One of
the prettiest things I have seen in a stadium since Penelope Cruz last turned out in support of
Spain.

Check out this week's Physical Culture in the New York Times Style section; Jack Bell has co-opted
it for the soccer agenda and has put together a piece (with a slideshow) featuring RBNY rookie Nick
Zimmerman. The kid road tests a few boots from Under Armour, Concave, Joma, Lotto and Nomis.

Oh wow. It's like N'Sync became a new footie-themed boy band called the Backpass Boys. Obviously
Danleigh Borman is the Justin Timberlake of the bunch but when it comes to who is the Joey Fatone
I'm out of answers. You know what would make them really bump though? A posse cut remix by Youri
Djorkaeff featuring the ESC on hypeman duty.

They used to always say that the Home Depot Center was the jewel of Major League Soccer. I guess
sh*t done changed...or it will in March 2010 at least. To be fair though I think they are two
different animals that are each worthy of being a "diamond girl" in their own way and don't really
lend themselves to a side-by-side comparison.

The RBNY great remembers his time at Aston Villa and talks about his future in New York. He also
names Thierry Henry first when asked who was the best player he went up against in the EPL; more
fuel for the Henry-to-NYC speculation fire.

That's right folks, we come away from a daunting three-game in eight-day trip to the East Coast
with six points. PV, for one, was not satisfied with the haul. He told multiple reporters after the
game that he felt we should have taken all nine. Check out the notables below, with plenty on Josh
Wolff's latest tally and Kevin Hartman's exploits.

This past week it was officially announced that Vincenzo Bernardo had opted out of his contract
with Italian Serie A club Napoli and is now a free agent. For some weeks there has been speculation
that the New Jersey native, who joined Napoli's primavera squad in 2006, would be coming to Major
League Soccer; however, no MLS side has publically expressed a strong interest in signing the small
but talented Italian-American midfielder/striker.

I'm not exactly sure how interested anyone is in this but Panasonic are outfitting Red Bull Arena
with all of it's video screens and TV's. That's cool. I like to to watch TV and go to soccer games
so why not do both at the same time?
Perhaps Panasonic would like to become The Official Technology Partner of SF's House?

subject RUMOR:Osorio probably to last rest of season and a hitler vs nyrb video
im not sure if this information qualifies to be posted on your website but i have a friend who
works with the red bull company and he says that in austria, they will keep osorio until the end of
the season because it wont be "profitable" for the team to have a new coach late in the season
before they sack osorio from his position.

I'm pretty open-minded. Really I am. But there is something funny about Cleetus & Claudio doing an
infomercial for yoga. I mean Reyna I get because he is aged (pronounced "age-jed") and at this
point he was probably trying anything to keep his kneecap from exiting his skin and landing on the
Giants Stadium turf in the 76th minute.

I'm in Hoboken at the W Hotel for the Osorio-Arena-Beckham press conference so I'll be away for
most of the afternoon. Talk amongst yourselves while I sit here and pray that Grant Wahl -who is in
the house-- asks Becks at least one question (I love awkward moments).
UPDATE: Ten minutes in, it just got awkward.
