Paolo Di Canio has today been confirmed as the new Swindon Town manager. Here's a tribute to
him, taken directly from the Sabotage Times.
On the day Paolo Di Canio returns to English football as manager of Swindon Town, we look at the
goals, glory and insanity of one of football's cast-iron nutters.
Thanks to Football365 for this. What could, should, might and won't happen this summer...
100) Frederic Piquionne
A host of departures from Fratton Park will occur over the summer and near the front of the exodus
will be Piquionne. Where to? Anywhere in England but here.
Following the inspiration of the superb Zonal Marking and the discovery of this11, a tactical
analysis of United's adjustment after Rafael's red card with pretty diagrams and stuff...
This is how we described the adjustment in our post-match analysis...
Ferguson's reaction to going down to 10 contributed much to United's eventual defeat.
Fittingly considering the last article was about lazy journalism this is the first thing I've
written in a week. And even more aptly, it's not even mine, but lifted from the Guardian. But it's
a fantastic piece by Dr Sid Lowe, who you will be familiar with from the site and from Football
Weekly, the excellent Guardian Football Podcast.
Being as I barely update this site anymore, here are some more active/useful ones for you to
visit. You all know the newspaper sites, Football365, ESPN, etc for news and match reports and
stuff, but these you may not have heard of.
Goals/Highlights and Games
101GreatGoals - Updated incessantly with goals from all around the world.
This week there are a raft of Champions League, Premier League, and Football League game on TV.
A great site to keep track of where they are all being shown is Where's the Match - not only for
football either, you can track live games in all sports, and never miss one again. Although your
girlfriend will probably be pretty pissed off.
A reminder to those of you looking to buy football related books, DVDs, and games... visit our

For those of you not familiar with the Guardian's excellent football podcast, I urge you to give
it a try - you can listen online here, or subscribe via iTunes here (as soon as today's is up -
usually around 17.00). For those of who who are, take this as a reminder.
It's hosted by James Richardson (of late 90s Football Italia fame - the bald bloke) who is
excellent, and has regular guests including Barry Glendenning, Sean Ingle, Kevin McCarra, and
various members of the Guardian football staff home and abroad.
OK so this is a campaign by Freesat, let's get that out of the way. But it's good because you
can win Freesat HD boxes and blu-ray stuff and a 46 inch TV to watch the World Cup on. By answering
football trivia questions. The first set of which are up now

I never thought Nani would feature here, because he's shit. But today (and in fairness in the
last couple of games) he has actually looked good. And he capped those good performances with a
spectacular goal against Arsenal. Whether the finish was deliberate is debatable (actually it's
not, it wasn't) but the turn that beat two men out wide was genuine class.
They have all the goals from all the games in all the leagues I'm not sure how legal they are,
but a great resource. Bookmark them now and you'll never need miss a goal again.
Incidentally, what a day's football there has been Stoke dicking Arsenal, Scunny giving City a
bit of a run for their (bottomless pit of) money, and now a cracking Milan derby.
An excellent article by Guardian Sport/Football Weekly hero Barry Glendenning looks at the way
Fantasy Football corrupts your mind - the original can be found here:

Don't let this article cloud your mind in any way about the best game to play though - that is,
and always will be, by a street: http://fantasy.
Apologies for the lack of any Fantasy picks for the weekend just gone... to all of you sitting
atop of your mini-leagues after following our advice through the season I can only offer my
sincerest 'sorry'... fortunate, really, that there isn't anyone in that category. Let us attempt
redemption by pointing you the way of the excellent Fantasy Football Scout.

Pre-season friendlies and meaningless tournaments have begun, and teams are shaping up for the
new season. Man City have bought half a side, including four strikers, and don't look to have
stopped yet. The other big/rich sides have been less active - Zhirkov, Glen Johnson, and of course
Michael Owen the most notable.
In the absence of any meaningful football this summer (excluding a nod to the U21s) we'll focus
on the endless transfer sagas in the Premiership and beyond (don't forget Simon Cox). So far Garry
Barry has defected, without European football, to Man City - and Madrid have splashed out on
Kaka.
We're getting into the business end of the season - there are only thirteen Premier League games
remaining. In this article we do a quick run through the divisions, looking at the current leaders,
the likely challengers, and the odds for all involved. Your divisional yankee should be Man Utd,
Cardiff, Leicester and Rochdale if you can't be bothered to read on.
A nice little site we stumbled across get your hero/zero emblazoned on a t-shirt. They have Jan
Aage-Fjortoft...
We like it because it is different. And because of the staggering range of 'cult zeros' they
have. You can visit their site here all t-shirts can be customised by colour, wording, etc.
You know Mark Watson the comedian, who cant pronounce his 'r's. It's actually pretty good, and
quite amusing in places much funnier than anything I can/have do/done anyway. You can find it at
http://backofthenet.markwatsonthecomedian.com/.
I can't help but read it in his funny voice though.
Every so often we see a football site that draws a nod of admiration. The latest to elicit such
a response is the excellent Football Filter, an RSS based news and content aggregator.
http://footballfilter.com is the address - once there you can view football news categorised under
broadsheets, tabloids, blogs, podcasts, and more, and you can search by club.
Football Weekly is the Guardian's superb Football podcast. It is released every Monday, in an
edition that reviews the weekend's fixtures, plus a bonus edition every Thursday (Football Weekly
Extra) which previews them.
The anchor is James Richardson, of Football Italia and recently deceased Setanta fame, and he is
joined by various combinations of Guardian football correspondents, most often Barry Glendenning,
Sean Ingle, Sid Lowe, and other peripatetic guests.
