Joel Glazer made the mistake of attributing lower ticket prices at Tampa Bay Bucs to listening
to the fans complaints a couple of weeks ago.
"We have spent a lot of time listening to fans at a time when our team is thriving and our
economy is not," said Joel Glazer. "As a result, we are now offering several pricing
changes in response to our community's needs.
Lee Sharpe has joined the green and gold campaign to be part of fans' bid to to get rid of the
Glazers. Unlike David Beckham, who denied all understanding of what the colours represented after
wearing the scarf after our Champions League game against AC Milan last season, Sharpe is happy to
put his name behind the campaign.
A respected sports-business analyst, Sport+Markt, has claimed that the green and gold campaign
has made a significant impact on the revenue of the Glazers'.
"Our data show the club has lost retail revenue from the year 2009 to 2010 by around
10%," said Dr Peter Rohlmann, the report's author.
Atlético Madrid fans have adopted green and gold scarves in protest against chief executive
Miguel Angel Gil Marin and president Enrique Cerezo.
They initially used blue and white scarves, the colours of their first kit, but felt like these
weren't different enough from their current colours which differs only by having additional
red.
