Just how much can you discuss the same thing, day after day? Well to be fair, we've given it a good
go but rather than rant on about the off-field stuff, I thought it might be time to reflect on the
on-field matters at Newcastle United. We're almost a third of the way through our [...]

Today started in a very confused fashion, that tends to happen when someone messes with all the
clocks in my house. It makes it worse when you forget one and then have to check BBC News for what
time it actually is. That didn't happen to me off course, I only put my clock forward three weeks
early.

Wolves will host Aston Villa this week at the Molineux this Saturday on ESPN2 (for all of you US

match-up will aim to please a near-capacity crowd that will be flooding into the Molineux.

This is absolutely ridiculous. As a Middlesbrough resident (But not a fan) I know how completely
fucking fair weather the fans there are.

Well done, Rafa. No, I really mean it! After Liverpool's defeat to Sunderland, the stage was set
for another Rafa rant about the injustices of the game, something that the media would've
lapped-up. Instead, Rafa said all the right things, and for that he should be applauded.
According to the rules, the ‘Beach-ball' goal should have been disallowed; Rafa could've seized
upon this as an opportunity to paper over the cracks and make excuses for the team.

Man United manager
Sir Alex Ferguson has been charged with improper conduct by the
Football Association for his rant after United's 2-2 draw with
Sunderland three weeks ago.
Sir Alex had questioned the referee's fitness.

Three weeks ago,
Man United manager
Sir Alex Ferguson made a few comments on referee
Alan Wiley's fitness. It now looks like the
FA could charge Ferguson and give him a five
match touchline ban.
Sir Alex said that Wiley was ‘unfit' and referees in England aren't as fit as foreign referee's.

I can see us beating them 0-2 tomorrow, plain and simple.
Let's face it, with the mess that they were (still are) in, Paul Hart had no choice but to bring in
Championship players. Championship players normally end up in the Championship.
O'Hara, who's been solid for them this season, won't be in the side, whilst King (who Patrick
Barclay of the Times called the best centre-half in Britain) should be back.

Each international break brings with it a massive lull at every major club. Unless you're Pompey
and are announcing a new owner at the club or red nose defending his recent rant, the week is
probably nothing to sneeze at.
But of course, there is some news coming out of Anfield this week. Namely, that Fernando Torres
could be injured again, and that the club could be welcoming another set of owners to the
table.

10 things I hate about Arsenal
OK, during this International break and before the news of goings on in the Boardroom, I thought
that I would have a light hearted rant. As Arsenal fans we are long suffering and this rant is
mainly aimed at those of us who attend the Emirates. I find myself incredibly frustrated at times
and I thought that I would share these with you.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson's recent rant on referee Alan Wiley has forced the FA to
question Fergie. He branded the ref 'unfit' and Ferguson's personal attack was so harsh that it
left referee Alan Wiley questioning whether he ought to walk away from football. But a review of
the ProZone match data - the tool top players and officials use to analyse their displays - shows

When Keegan left Newcastle back in September, it was expected the club would have to make a
pay-out of around the £9m mark, hard enough to take. However, this morning The Daily Star are
reporting that Keegan's lawyers are claiming for loss of potential future earnings, claiming the
whole episode has damaged his future employment prospects.

Arsenal Striker Eduardo: Heading for the Olympics?
If he's not, he damn well should be.
I despise people who dive in matches, so much so that I'd happily shout abuse at one of my own
team who decided to take a tumble, and have before resorted to shouting 'Get up you nonce' at them
down the pub.

When the Carling Cup Round 3 draw was first made, it was very difficult to
imagine West Bromwich Albion providing much of a competition to
Arsenal at The Emirates. Granted, Arsene Wenger
uses the competition to provide some first-team action to his reserves, but even those teenagers
usually prove to be a handful for the opponents.

Major League Soccer will not play league matches during the two-week group stage of next
summer's World Cup in South Africa.
Okay, fine. If teams are going to be without star players, and if you believe (as I do) that
MLS' product suffers by comparison when you watch high-level international play and then watch an
MLS match, not a bad move.

PFA chief Gordon Taylor has urged football fans, pundits, and the FA to put a stop to the lynch
mob mentality that is surrounding Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor. The targetman stirred
up controversy over the weekend by first stamping on Robin van Persie's face before scoring a goal
and sprinting the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the angry Gunners fans.

Pardon the overly extreme headline and this will be a short one, I promise but it's things like
these that rub bloggers or independent reporters the wrong way. You would expect the mainstream
media to follow basic journalistic etiquette; if it's a quote you attribute the source, or give
credit where it's due.

When you're working with young defenders, it's important that they grasp a key idea: there's
no particular shame in it if the guy you're responsible for is faster than you. Happens all the
time. The only thing to be ashamed of is not recognizing that fact and compensating for it
positionally instead of letting yourself get into a foot race with a player who you know good and
well can burn you.

Goodplaya: Wenger chants smear everything United say they stand for rant.
As Mike Dean and his assistant will well know, for 13 years Arsene Wenger has had to endure
thousands upon thousands of people sing at him "sit down you paedophile" every time he stands up at
Old Trafford. Presumably even the majority of Spurs and Chelsea fans think it beyond the pale
because despite the tune being around for years, the only place you ever heard it song with any
great gusto is Old Trafford.

A great majority of the football world has grown used to laughing off Arsene
Wenger's dramatic remarks over major incidents in recent years. This is precisely why the

Officiating in modern day football has already received its fair share of flak. Of course,
whenever a certain team is at the receiving end of harsh refereeing decisions, its passionate fans
jump at the opportunity to hit back at the match officials with great force. In this article,
however, I will not go ahead with the oft-repeated idea of accusing the referees of lacking the
ability to call big games without the heavily proposed use of technology.

There isn't a great deal happening in the wonderful world of Arsenal Football Club per se but

seems to be revolving around the Portsmouth Game (Rightly So).

Joe Kinnear's funny press conference rant was prompted by criticism written by The
Mirror's Simon Bird. "Which one of you is Simon Bird?" Kinnear asked. "Me," Bird replied.

I'd say Kinnear is spot on.
The 'article' Bird wrote this week was discussed on RoM following Michael Owen's refusal to
speak to the press after his first goal for Manchester United.

Thanks to the fantastic Dirty Tackle for this. Really not sure he deserves a
red card for the little push he gives an opponent but for the foul mouthed rant he totally warrants
some kind of punishment, perhaps he can serve as a referee for a week then he can shout "You

Since the theme on Fridays is irrational anger, I figured this would fit nicely. Pretty sure he
shoved that guy in slow motion, and the rant aimed at the referee following the red card is pretty
fantastic. Especially the way he changes vocal inflection when asking the same question
repeatedly.
