...well that's according to our favourite newspaper the Daily Mail anyway!. Being a Chelsea fan,
hardly a day goes by without reading a ridiculous headline from this lot as they look to fill their
pages and websites with headlines to grab peoples attention with little basis for the story!.
In this instance, they claim the following:
Chelsea face a battle to keep Daniel Sturridge after Arsenal took significant steps
towards a shock summer swoop.
I wondered being honest, how long it would take until we heard from either Nico Anelka or Alex
after their departures from Chelsea back in last month's transfer window and it hasn't taken
long.
The Sun over here in the UK leads with an interview Anelka has given about the end of his Chelsea
career and claims he was left to rot with the reserves.
It looks like the forecast is clearing up in London. That still doesn't mean we'll play, but
it's enough reason to have a rant at least.

How bad was Wolves' 3-0 home loss to Liverpool on Tuesday? Andy Carroll scored the match's
opening goal. That's how bad. It was his first league goal since October. Liverpool scored two more
second half goals to leave Wolves with 18 points from 23 matches and slumped over at 19th in the
table.
One thing I have noticed in recent weeks is the lack of real chances we are creating for ourselves.
The thing is, because of this happening, the likes of Danny Sturridge (as he demonstrated
yesterday) have taken a selfish approach to his game and is shooting whenever he gets the ball in
or around the box rather then lift his head up and look for a killer pass or to create a chance for
someone else.
I watched the game and come away from it thinking "Good performance" and "Good result, we're
through!" and being honest I cannot believe the negativity that has come from "Chelsea fans" on
here and Twitter to me after the game.
Some of you lot need a kick up the arse and to get a sense of realism right now.
Remember Yuri Zhirkov? The man with a big reputation as one of the upcoming stars of European
football joined Chelsea for a fee of around £18m in 2009 and being honest, did little really to
cement his place in the team or force his way in. I think we could realistically, count on one hand
the amount of games he played well in for Chelsea.
Tottenham have slapped an astonishing £150million price tag on coveted winger and current PFA
Player of The Year Gareth Bale in a bid to ward off suitors. So any attempt to nick Bale from White
Hart Lane will, in total, smash the current £80million world-record transfer Real Madrid paid to
secure the services of former [.
Did you know that the name Joey Barton is an anagram of the word "Wanker"? I know, it took me a
while to figure it out as well. Anyway, I think its fair to say that I have long considered that
this odius character should have been banished from the footballing world and his latest actions
have done nothing to alter my opinion.
This week sees the longest ever rant from Twiggster, after being interrupted during the
recording, by the news of our captain apparently moving to Norwich!
Apart from that, we have news of trialists at our club, U.18 and reserves wins and of course
listener emails! And it seems like the Robbie Rogers deal is going ahead!
Swansea 3 (Sinclair pen 16, Dyer 57, Graham 70) Arsenal 2 (Van Persie 5, Walcott

(Premiership)
Two weeks ago, the Arsenal fanbase was pretty content. A win over QPR had lifted us back amongst
the top four at the turn of the year, a remarkable turnaround given the position we were in after
seven games.
Fantastic the football on the weekend.
Tucked into two games. Victory and Adelaide and Brisbane v Sydney.
What treats.
Harry Kewell turned back the clock with a wonderful performance, again. If Archie or Danny could
have finished one or two of their Harry inspired chances Victory would have won.
Robbie Slater has taken Craig Foster to task over Fozzie's article/analysis of Melbourne Victory's
Coaching appointment.
Fozzie's article is intelligent, well thought out and something we need in this country - even if
you don't agree with it's sentiment.
It adds to our football intelligence, it makes us think.
Tottenham midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has sent a warning to Manchester City that Spurs are
ready to launch a push for the Premier League title after a 2-0 win over Everton. Spurs moved up to
joint second level with Manchester United and crept to within three points of table toppers
Manchester City after a [.
Winter of discontent Former Premier League referee Jeff Winter has got a few questions to answer
this morning after a strange sectarian article appeared on his official website. Winter has been
blogging his travels around Australia and New Zealand over the festive period. But one of the blog
posts takes a very peculiar take on [.
Well Florent Malouda is doing his best to keep in favour with the manager isn't he!. After reports
of AVB's cull at the club of the older players coming to the end of their contracts, Florent
Malouda has spoken of the situation here and that fact that we should be winning things year in,
year out.
Nude pictures of Robbie Savage stripped naked for Cosmopolitan Magazine to publicise testicular
cancer awareness and send women everywhere drooling have been released. The former Leicester City,
Birmingham and Derby ace-turned-BBC-pundit and columnist threw his kit off in a bid to raise
awareness for testicular cancer.
Surely the media have something else better to do than to make up total rubbish to put to print to
attract readers to their articles. I admit, from time to time the right headline grabs attention
but in doing that, you have to have a basis and substance to engage the person reading your article
to remain interested in it, not to dis-regard it within the first couple of lines.
'Arry angered by sock butchery Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp is said to launched a dressing room
rant at his players over their new craze for cutting the feet off their socks. Football's latest
fashion fad has seen many Premier League players opting to play in tennis-style ankle socks,
believing it gives them better traction inside [.
After watching Fernando Torres' performance yesterday for Chelsea I thought to myself "He's had a
good game today". Then I saw the report of Ex-Liverpool Phil Thompson on Skysports "Soccer
Saturday" and couldn't believe what I was reading!. Thompson is quoted soon after the game
saying:
"He's not anywhere near.
It's headlines like this we wake up to this morning with
The Sun claiming from their so
called "Chelsea source" that there is player unrest and AVB has lost the dressing room.
The basis of this information has come about because apparently Nico Anelka was banned from the
club's Xmas do by AVB so the players organised a separate one and didn't tell AVB for Anelka.
You could see it coming a mile off couldn't you!. Once again we struggled to break a side down that
comes here and lines up with ten men behind the ball. It's all well and good having the majority of
the possession of the ball but you HAVE TO do something with it.
How many fucking times am I saying the same thing over and over again?
I shook my head in disbelief when I read an interview with Florent Malouda featured in The
Telegraph. Malouda, who has struggled to reach anywhere his best form for two seasons now is quoted
as saying:
"I'm not getting enough playing time, It's too limited for the ambitions I
have.
Everyone has an excuse when it comes to losing in FIFA 12. I reckon my shameless excuse is
blaming the superhuman AI, particularly in FUT. But, you know, whatever.
Danny Sturridge took a much different route when explaining his dismissal from the Chelsea FIFA
12 pro player tournament, an event we posted video of a few weeks back.
I really am beginning to wonder about Fernando Torres now. The game on Saturday night was a blatant
example of the fact to me anyway that there seems to be "issues" between AVB and our Spanish
striker.
I stand by my match report and everything I said there. Why on earth we go 1-0 up, see that
Drogba is not having his best game and keep him on the pitch, ask Torres to warm up and then not
even use him is beyond me!
I simply cannot believe the fact that we have let two important points slip away for two reasons.
First of all the calamitous error from Petr Cech to simply gift Wigan their equaliser and secondly
the use of our substitutions during the game.
We came into this one on a high after three real important wins against Newcastle, Valencia and
City and being honest should have really taken the game to Wigan and got this won early doors.
Mario hates poor passing The training ground scrap between Manchester City team-mates Mario
Balotelli and Micah Richards was started by a stray pass from the England international, Mirror
Football reports. Balotelli was unhappy at the accuracy of Richards' passing and told him: "If you
won't pass to my feet, I won't move.
Just like I said yesterday, AVB has come out and rejected claims made by the media the other night
that
Chelsea were prepared to listen to offers of around £20m for Fernando Torres.
He said:
"It's not true, he is not available at any price.
Everybody wants to be involved all the time but Fernando is pushing for a place with Didier
Drogba.
I posted earlier this week a rant AVB had about the
media coverage of Chelsea and
quite rightly so. We had previously see him defend Fernando Torres' form in pre season by claiming
that they were "
turning him into an obsession".
Last week, we heard him
defend David Luiz and his position in the Chelsea side
again, because of focus from the media.
It's refreshing to find out that reality's not actually a thing worth acknowledging, as the
narrative carrying the day focuses on the fact that Kenny Dalglish is now Rafa Benitez, because who
in their right mind would use actual evidence to back up a statement that a decision by a governing
body known for not entirely correct decisions might not actually be entirely correct?
Facts fly in Rafael Benítez blitz on Liverpool grievances against FA
Rafael Benítez's exasperation at Liverpool's treatment by the authorities was fuelled by the
actions of a certain Mr Ferguson Kenny Dalglish's outburst on Thursday was reminiscent of Rafael
Benítez's rant about Sir Alex Ferguson in 2009.
A horror show from Arsenal goalkeepers Vito Mannone and Łukasz Fabiański condemned Arsenal to a
3-1 defeat to Olympiakos and proved once again that Arsene Wenger must sort out the team's
goalkeeping problems. Unbelievably bad, pitiful and far from reliable. How else can one describe
the current crop of Arsenal goalkeepers currently vying for Wojciech [.
We have all got used to the negativity that surrounds Chelsea from most of the written press and
the media. We accept that as soon as something doesn't go our way it will be jumped on and dragged
through the papers for days. I have mentioned on here about old dried up ex-pro's who have nothing
else better to do even getting involved.
As a United fan, I must say life has been pretty dull of late. I don't remember the last time we
scored more than one goal in a game (of course I remember the 8-2. Shameless Plug
alert) or winning a game when we did go ahead and score 2 or 3. Not winning is definitely
a bummer, especially when it closely follows home-ground hammerings at the hands of the rich, evil
super-villain (also note lack of plug here).
After speaking to World Football Daily prior to the Liverpool game I was back on the radio
yesterday speaking of another defeat, questions about our manager and what I think we need to do
from now on to turn things round.
Check it out here.

- I have a right to be anxious)
What do you think?
As usual after a defeat and lack of Chelsea goals, you can imagine reports, headlines and comments
that people are making about Fernando Torres and it's doing my head in, it really is. Even Chelsea
fans are having a pop and stating that he is "dried up" and not the player he used to be.
You see, he hasn't been the player he used to be because he is constantly having to drop deeper and
deeper to get the ball because he isn't getting the service he needs.

I have to say that I am finding it increasingly difficult being a Chelsea fan at the moment. I have
been and will be a Chelsea fan all my life and will support them through thick and thin. I have
seen good times in recent seasons and plenty of bad times at this club. I stood on the old shed end
and supported Chelsea week in, week out when we were in the old second division so I know just how
bad it can be.
Well it's happened again and at Stamford Bridge. It was good to see Ryan Bertrand, Josh McEachran
(who was later replaced injured at the end of the first half), Oriol Romeu get another start and
Romelu Lukaku get a run out. Oriol Romeu and David Luiz were the stars of the show as far as
Chelsea were concerned but that was about it.
One thing that winds me up about the media, especially after a poor Chelsea performance and result,
is the fact that they dig up any old tom, dick or harry who has some kind of affiliation with the
club to comment on the situation.
There are a couple out there who like to give their opinions but one person in particular is making
himself a career out of pointing out the complete obvious and that's Tony Cascarino.
First of all and believe me I really hate saying this, but credit to Liverpool for their
performance yesterday. In the first half they rattled us, pressed high up the pitch, fought for
every ball and looked dangerous every time they went forward.
Second half they dug in, rode their luck on occasions but continued to work hard all over the pitch
and took all three points with a fantastic goal from a great first touch and dribble in the box
from ex-Chelsea man Glen Johnson.
