- Barca's upcoming match against Rubin Kazan is no small deal. Weather conditions are looking to be
pretty harsh, with the climate there at this time of year much colder than what our players are
used to, and measures have been taken... from the team traveling to Kazan two days before match day
to get used to the cold a bit, to the special gear designed by Nike to keep the players warm.

the film he helped to fund. Another one of the men to fund this film was Chelsea's
Ashley
Cole who was also there.

For reasons that we don't know or really care about, the mayor of Barcelona, Jordi Hereu, wants
U.S. president Barack Obama to visit the city. How does he intend to achieve this? By having sent
Obama an invitiation... accompanied by two FC Barcelona shirts!
The way Señor Jordi sees it, the Barca shirt is the "most internationally recognized symbol of the
city" which makes it in order to gift a pair of them to the president of the United States.

book is the result of the success of a television program by TV3 under the same name, which was

- Apparently, Gerard Pique has been turning down modeling deals repeatedly from various renowned
international fashion designers, insisting that his focus is on football - which is just too bad,
considering that the photo shoots this man does are simply made of sizzle. Word is that he may

- Former Barca manager Sir Bobby Robson unfortunately passed away today at the age of 76, after
he's been battling cancer for a long while. He coached the team for the 1996-1997 season, achieving
such titles as the European Cup Winners Cup, the Copa Del Rey as well as the Spanish Super Cup. He
will be greatly missed by the footballing world, may he rest in peace.

- The team's off to L.A. today! The second step of Barca's preseason, after the Wembley Cup, is the
United States tour, which will kick off in California (against LA Galaxy - hello there Becks)

- Leo sends everyone greetings from Barca's training camp, Bisham Abbey, London, and begs for
someone to please make Pep take it easy on them. The coach's been working the boys extra hard
today, with two training sessions involving a mixture of physical and tactical exercises. They
focused on ball skills, defensive pressure and building stamina, with Pep in the midst of
everything making the sure the players were doing things right, and interrupting frequently to
correct them (pictures below).

- We've all been missing Gabi Milito terribly since he got injured, and now, over a year later, his
recovery isn't looking any nearer. It's strange, how complicated this injury has turned out to be,

- Barca players link hands and frolick together on the Mini Estadi, the stadium that has been, for
a while now, the first team's training ground and the youth teams' match ground - but not anymore.
The club will be using the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper instead, while the Mini Estadi will be sold
so that the land can be converted into flats, a hotel, a series of parks and gardens, a nursery
school and secondary school in addition to a health center.

Lionel Messi spent his last day of vaycay in the United States in LA, California, where he picked
up the ESPN Deportes Latino Athlete of the Year award. He'll be spending the rest of his holiday in
Cali with his family, before it's time to head back to Barcelona for preseason.

As it turns out, Barca coach Pep Guardiola was at the kickoff concert for U2 on Camp Nou last
Tuesday. He and lead singer Bono are pals now - at Bono's request, the two were introduced and held
a short meeting in the singer's dressing room, where Pep presented him with a Barca shirt bearing
his name and the number "1".

- Yesterday U2 kicked off their 360° world tour on Camp Nou before 90,000 viewers, opening the
show with the song "Snow Patrol". They also dedicated one song to recently passed away Pop star
Michael Jackson and sang bits of two Jackson songs. Read more about the full concert here.
-The band are scheduled for another concert on Camp Nou tomorrow, before travelling to Milan, Italy

Barca's Daniel Alves has just won the Confederations Cup with his home country, Brazil! The game
didn't start out very well for the Brazilians, after the score quickly became 2-0 in favor of
opponents USA, but Dani and his teammates were able to fight back and score three goals in the
second half, after Dani was subbed on.
