Blackburn Rovers 3-2 Queens Park Rangers Premier League 11th February 2012
Despite the recent introduction of new boss Mark Hughes, along with the likes of Bobby Zamora,
QPR look set for a long relegation dogfight this season after going down 3-2 to one of their
rivals, Blakcburn Rovers, at Ewood Park.
John Terry, quien afronta
un juicio por presuntos insultos racistas que habría proferido, durante un partido de la liga
Premier (octubre 2011) a
Anton Ferdinand, defensor de Queens Park Rangers y hermano de Rio
(Ferdinand), su compañero de zaga en la selección.

Djibril Cisse could never be described as a shrinking violet, so it will come as little surprise
that the former Liverpool man was once again the centre of attention at Loftus Road, albeit for all
the wrong reasons.

There's something in the air at The Emirates Stadium. Arsenal Football Club has had a difficult
2012 so far, and patience for some, at least is starting to wear thin, leading to a protest that
has brought puzzled expressions from elsewhere. At this lunchtime's match against Blackburn Rovers
in the Premier League, a group of supporters plans to place black bin bags on seats at the ground
prior to the match.
Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes has slammed the decision to delay John Terry's racism
hearing until July. Terry was involved in an alleged racially-motivated clash with QPR defender
Anton Ferdinand, and Hughes is upset that the trial will interrupt his side's preseason plans.
"They've made a decision that impacts on one of my players, they've given a date which is slap
bang in the middle of pre-season," Hughes said.
In that special, unique way that only they can, the FA managed to set a dozen hungry cats
amongst the pigeons of the John Terry case this morning. Their announcement, that Terry had been
stripped of the England captaincy for this summer's European Championships but that he would still
be available for selection by Fabio Capello sends out a message so mixed that it would require an
FA-branded centrifuge to be able to properly decipher.

Clint Dempsey was once again the goal scorer for Fulham putting them in front in what turned into a
1-1 draw against West Bromwich Albion at Craven Cottage. Dempsey's 69th minute opener was cancelled
out in the 82nd. With Bobby Zamora transferred to Queens Park Rangers on Tuesday, Dempsey was used
as a striker.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said that lukewarm nature of the recently concluded winter
transfer window is a clear sign that European clubs are now unable to match their previously
sky-high spending levels.
The veteran Gunners boss compared the business conducted in January 2012 to the spending frenzy
that took place same time last year, when more than £100 million were splashed by Chelsea and
Liverpool on the purchase of just a handful of players.

When transfer deadline day rolls around, Sky Sports News' Jim White gets more excited than a
puppy attached to a leash made of bacon. So excited, in fact, that sometimes his mouth is so
overeager to spit out the latest transfer dealings that it creates a perfect sized opening for his
foot.
After acquiring Taye Taiwo from Ac Milan, Queens Park Rangers' continue to collect another
ex-Serie A base player by completing the signing of Djibril Cisse from Lazio for a fee worth around
5 million Euro.
Cisse, who also had premiership experience with Liverpool few seasons ago, has already talked to
the press about his arrival, revealing that coach Mark Hughes and the exciting project that QPR are
creating attracted him.
Former Manchester City manager Mark Hughes has told the Premier League leaders that his Queens
Park Rangers side can help them claim the Barclays Premier League title if they loan out-of-favor
striker Carlos Tevez to the West London outfit.
Hughes has entered the bidding for Tevez's services after the links to both Milan clubs, PSG,
and most recently, even Liverpool, broke down without significant progress.
The winter transfer window in Europe is set to close today, and teams are still scrambling to
fill vacancies and address needs for the second half of their respective seasons.
While we don't seem likely to have any megastars making winter transfer moves, despite resurgent
rumors of Carlos Tevez to AC Milan, there is still some serious talent changing addresses.
There's a slim chance Carlos Tevez (in sparkier times above) will be joining
Samuel Eto'o's Russian playground, Anzhi, before the transfer
window closes at 12am tonight. But don't bank on it chicos! Milan, PSG and
Inter all held discussions with him in the past months and everyone basically snapped
their fingers and said "NO", except for Anzhi who're apparently willing to pay £15m for him.
Former New England Revolution star Clint Dempsey could be changing teams before England's
January transfer window comes to a close at 6PM ET on Tuesday. The current Fulham FC midfielder has
been lighting it up in the Barclays Premier League with 15 goals through all competitions and could
see a dream move to one of the top clubs in the league before Tuesday's deadline.
Everton has leapfrogged West Ham, Queens Park Rangers, and cross-town rivals Liverpool in being
the front-runners to sign Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic.
The Toffees, who have scored only 22 goals this season a total that is only higher than
bottom-club Wigan are in search for a finisher with a proven pedigree and Jelavic offers an
affordable option to cover their needs.

It looked to be another long afternoon at the Emirates after Arsenal found themselves down two
to Aston Villa at halftime and on the verge of going out of the FA Cup. Relief came quickly,
however, as the Gunners scored three goals within 10 minutes to move on to the fifth round.
With just a day left in the transfer window, the normal last minute rush that has been so common
in past years looks non existent with many clubs choosing to remain very quite in this January.
Carlos Tevez's big money transfer that we were all keenly looking forward to failed to
materialise after City refused to back down on their €30 million buying price.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas has urged the Stamford Bridge crowd to seek inspiration from
the club's traveling support at Loftus Road on Saturday to change the anxious vibe at the Blues'
home ground.
The West Londoners were nearly unbeatable at home not too long ago but have appeared extremely
vulnerable under Villas-Boas, who is hoping that the recent return to form improves the atmosphere
at the Bridge.
Chelsea's succes in overcoming Queens Park Rangers on Saturday apparently brought some
negativity for them as one of their important players, Ramires, was forced to leave the pitch with
what looked to be a knee injury.
This situation is apparently worrying for the Blues' manager, Andre Villas-Boas, who tried to be
optimistic with his Brazilian midfielder's condition, hoping that it won't be a very serious knee
problem for the ex-Benfica man.
It wasn't pretty. Hell, it was downright hideous. But it's a win, one that puts us in the
fifth-round draw. Hey, that's good enough for this guy.
A united front
I guess we should have expected this. All the hype, all the controversy it simply overstated
what was bound to be on display at Loftus Road on Saturday.
We of course don't have the official prognosis yet, but on the strength of quotes from both the
player and Andre Villas-Boas it looks like we may have dodged a massive bullet.
Worrying moments
Ramires went down in serious pain during the second half of today's FA Cup fourth-round tie at
Loftus Road against Queens Park Rangers.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas made headlines yesterday when he came across as extremely
non-committal in discussing prospective signings such as Genk's Kevin De Bruyne and Shakhtar's
Willian.
The Portuguese manager has followed up by explaining that his stance stems from the unappealing
nature of the January transfer window.
The magic of the FA Cup. The combined furor of two players and thus two clubs and two sets of
support groups embroiled in an alleged race row.
And, of course, handshake gate revisited.
Not again
Saturday's FA Cup fixture between visiting Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road is
brimmed with subplots.

It's FA Cup weekend again in England, and the field is down to 32 teams.
Liverpool are well out of the Premier League title race, and their Champions League hopes are
diminishing quickly, but fans will find some solace in the domestic cups, especially after the club
reached the Carling Cup final earlier this week.

Mexico seemed ready to settle for a draw with Venezuela, but two late goals coming in a span of
a minute lifted El Tri to a 3-1 victory over the South Americans.
Fielding a squad largely comprised of players competing for a spot on the Olympic qualifying
team, the Mexicans won on Wednesday night courtesy of goals from Rafael Marquez Lugo and Oribe
Peralta in the 88th and 89th minutes, respectively.

Liverpool and Queens Park Rangers have been alerted to the availability of former Arsenal
midfielder Alexander Hleb, with Barcelona ready to make the out-of-favour Belarusian a free agent,
after talks over cancelling his contract.
The move comes two weeks after Hleb returned to Barcelona following a failed loan spell with
Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg, who had asked to terminate his season-long agreement six months early,
after the 30-year-old struggled with form and fitness, making just four appearances this term.
So far the 2011-12 season's FA Cup campaign has been a high quality tournament. Just 32 teams
remain in the competition and are all fighting the claim their spot in the Fifth Round of the cup.
In this article I shall be talking about the up-and-coming matchup between Premiership side Queens
Park Rangers and their league compatriots Chelsea.
Taye Taiwo has finally been officially unveiled as Queens Park Rangers' new signing this January
and the player express his gratitude towards the club's manager, Mark Hughes, who reportedly was
then one asking for the Nigerian international.
The six months loan deal with possible buy out clause at the end of season was actually done few
days ago, but it's just got active after Taiwo received his working permit, a basic conditions for
foreigners to play in the premier league.
Queens Park Rangers apparently can't afford Alex. Paris Saint-Germain, meanwhile, certainly can.
I guess that solves that then, in my skewed mind at least.
A reunion?
The protracted transfer of Alex away from Chelsea drags on.
News today arrives in two parts.
