Long time readers will remember my Weekend Roundup posts on the 4 overseas teams I follow. This
past offseason was very busy for the Rapids so I stopped doing the regular updates, but I figured
I'd do an end-of-season Roundup on them.
Queen of the South - Scotland Division OneQoS had a rough year due to the bath weather in
Scotland.
There's been controversy and drama at both ends of the table in the Scottish first division this
week.
At the bottom end, with Stirling Albion already relegated, Ross County and Cowdenbeath now face
a straight fight to avoid the play-off spot, and County took a three point advantage this week by
winning their game in hand the twice abandoned game against Queen of the South which finally went
ahead at a neutral venue.

And on the week Jens returns to the limelight, we shall have howlers.
This is a bit less Jens and his moments of madness and more a moment of lacking self-awareness.
The awareness that the man at hand, David Hutton, is not aware of his abilities as an outfield
player in that he doesn't have any.
Following the high profile signing of Malaysian national team striker Safee Sali, Pelita Jaya are
now thought to be hot on the heels of Scottish defender Christopher Doig, currently with A League
side Central Coast Mariners.
Doig, who turned 30 last week, represented Scotland Under 21s about a decade ago and has also
played for Queen of the South (who are actually a football team and not a Twitter account),
Nottingham Forest and Northampton Town.
The delays caused by the Scottish winter have really been hitting home these past few weeks. A
long run of postponements that was started by a refereeing strike, continued by an early snowfall,
then frost, then waterlogged pitches has left some clubs without a home match for almost three
months, and that's going to be a struggle for even the most prudently run clubs in lower
leagues.
Today the Strikers announced the re-signing of two key defenders, It's a good sign of things to
come for Striker Likers!
Here is a little about them:
English defender Martyn Lancaster. Lancaster was born November 10, 1980 in Wigan, England.
He began his career playing for Chester City in the English Football League and Football Conference
between 1998 and 2003.
Thai Port have signed a Scottish player for the 2011 season. His name is Steven Robb and he used to
play for Dundee, Dundee United, Raith Rovers and St Mirren.
For those people who don't know Scottish football was first invented by English pools companies to
fill out the coupons. The one proviso they insisted on was that the team names must be as daft as
possible.
