Football, or soccer, is one of the most popular sports in the world, so naturally football betting
would be one of the most popular forms of sports betting around. Betting on various aspects of a
football game adds an extra dimension of suspense to the game, since you have a very real stake in
the outcome, win, lose or draw.
Wes Welker was arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL this season. The New England Patriots
star with cat-quick reflexes was a big reason why his team made it to the Super Bowl. However, in
the biggest moment of his life, Wes Welker dropped a pass a became a Super Bowl goat.
Check out the Wes Welker dropped pass video below to see the play for yourself.
Sportsmail strikes again. Though we may have to start giving the masked man/woman/thing a little
more credit on the back of breaking the Willian negotiations last week. This time around, the
Daily Mail's journo in the field, with a little help from the Mirror,
suggests Chelsea are ready to make key moves for both Paul Pogba and Gregory van der Wiel.

Football betting can be a great investment or a waste of money, with an ever-increasing number
of people deeming themselves football experts and putting their money where their mouth is on a
daily or weekly basis, only to see their hard-earned cash taken from them.
Dipping into the SPL for transfer targets is always a gamble and while a player's record may
look good north of the border, moving into the premiership will always represent a tougher
challenge. If you need any evidence of that, you could always contrast Gordon Durie's scoring ratio
after he'd moved from White Hart Lane to Ibrox.
Instead of a preview, I thought I'd look at some classic Arsenal matches against this week's
opponents. And when those opponents are Man Utd, there's a lot of games to choose from. So, rather
than one game, I thought I'd look at a whole season: 2004-2005. That year, we played United in
three games that can genuinely be described as epic (we also opened the season by beating them in
the Charity Shield).
Wigan midfielder Maynor Figueroa sent Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini's blood boiling after he
inexplicably handled the ball thus denying Sergio Aguero and clear run on goal. City were leading
1-0 at the time with just two minutes left on the clock before a hopeful punt up field by Nigel De
Jong was about to [.
Ruddy nora and crikey hell! What about that, then? An absolute thunder-punt from everyone's
favourite Smart Car-driving, Oyster card-carrying Evening Standard columnist/community
support worker/international superstar footballer/all round good egg. If I was describing it using
the medium of retro beat 'em, Street Fighter II, I would conclude thusly: sonic boom +
flaming hadouken x hurricane kick= that goal.

Liverpool are 1.12 to beat Oldham tonight and progress into the next round of the FA Cup, and it
really should be a case of how many they win by despite their poor home record.
The Reds have won all three previous meetings between the two sides in this competition, and
although they have been eliminated at this stage in each of the last two seasons it's 88 years
since they went three consecutive seasons without making it past the third round.
Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard scored from his own half against Bolton but was unable to prevent the
Toffees slumping to a 2-1 home defeat. Howard casually received the ball inside his box before
launching a down-the-pitch-punt hurtling towards the Bolton goal. A rather surprised (and frankly
clumsy) Adam Bogdan could only scamper backwards as the [.

It's not been a good few days for Manchester United? Four days after slumping to a home defeat
against lowly old Blackburn, United found themselves on the end of a relative 3-0 tonking at the
Sports Direct North East Regional Distribution Centre which gave their title aspirations yet
another toe-punt in the undercarriage.
If Carroll starts he'll be looking for those delicious crosses from
Gerrard...Liverpool travel to the City of Manchester Stadium on Tuesday evening to face
Mancini's side for the first of three times this month. The Reds will be looking to take advantage
of City after they lost to Sunderland on Sunday.
Will Carroll get a start?...
Liverpool make the short trip to the DW Stadium on Wednesday to face a
rejuvenated Wigan side. Martinez's team are still hovering around the bottom of the table but some
inspired performances of late have given them some much needed confidence.
United travel to London to take on QPR this weekend, and are a top priced 1.5 with Betfred and
Paddy Power to win at a ground where they haven't lost for 22 years. They have won eight and lost
none of the last 11 meetings with the Hoops in all competitions and come into the game on the back
of thrashing Wolves 4-1 to extend their unbeaten run in the league to eight (won 5, Drawn 3).
Rumours abound that Liverpool may be looking to sign Nicolas Anelka in the January Transfer-Window,
either on loan, or to buy him for around £4 million.
The former Liverpool striker, under Gerrard Houllier, is out of favour and soon out of a contract
at Chelsea.
Since the arrival of Villas Boas and the purchase of fallen-Red, Fernando Torres, Anelka has found
himself way down the pecking order, behind young Daniel Sturridge who is beginning to find the net
quite frequently.

I don't mind admitting it absolutely galled me that the sycophantic tools on the Match of the
Day sofa just flat-out refused to acknowledge and/or call-out Wayne Rooney's petulant slash at a
prone Fabricio Coloccini last night, despite watching replay after replay of the United meathead
poorly masking his errant boot as an attempt to prise the ball out from underneath the Newcastle
centre-half.
Manchester United have an unbelievable record against Newcastle, so it's no surprise to see
bookmakers make them long-odds on favourites to win this weekend's game at a top priced 1.4.
The visitors have never won at Old Trafford in the Premier League losing 11 of their 17
visits.
It's a similar story overall, with United having won 13 and lost none of their last 17 matches
against Alan Pardew's side.
Personal transfer fee Sone Aluko has revealed that he, his friends and family had to stump up
£200,000 to complete his move to Rangers. The 22-year-old's transfer was on the verge of collapse
when the champions refused to stump up the compensation being demanded by his former club Aberdeen.
According to the Daily Record: Faced [.
Why Spain game marks Capello's transformation from arch pragmatist into wild risk
taker
Fabio Capello is not an obvious risk-taker, not the sort you would associate with taking a punt.
A pragmatist, yes. A disciplinarian, certainly. A man who thinks he is always right,
undoubtedly.
Will Roy have a case of facerubitus on Saturday?...It's West Brom on Saturday for Liverpool, the Reds return to see Roy Hodgson as he looks to
continue building his start to the season. West Brom are currently 12th in the league with
Liverpool in 6th.
Injuries for West Brom mean that one of their star men; Shane Long will be unavailable for kick off
on Saturday.

SPANISH FOOTBALL finished with the last match of Round 8 of LA LIGA with an exciting game of
Football palyed between ATHLETIC CLUB BILBAO & OSASUNA. The "Lions" got their game finally together
after some difficult past rounds matches & won 3 - 1 in front of their roaring fans ( no punt
intended ). However it was Osasuna which got off to a flying start & shook Bilbao whos keeper
Iraizoz had to

else is at the match. Here goes nothing...
Well then. For eighty minutes, the Sounders were flat in front of a record crowd at CenturyLink
Field, allowing the visiting San Jose Earthquakes to grab a 1-0 first half lead and never really
looking like recovering.
As far as the rumour mills are concerned, the race is on for Spurs to find the new Ledley King
and after on-going target Gary Cahill has been linked with Barcelona today, there is a suggestion
that the club could look abroad.
One name mentioned is that of Lorient centre half Bruno Ecuele Manga, a 23 year old Gabonese
international with 20 caps for his country to date.
Javier Hernandez is fit to face Stoke at the Britannia this weekend, and that's the last news
that the Potters would have wanted.
Chicarito has scored three goals in two appearances against them and netted in the 27th minutes
in both games.
He was lucky to escape serious injury following Ashley Cole's horror tackle in United's 3-1
defeat of Chelsea, and it was terrific news when the gaffer revealed on Thursday that he was
available for this game.
An own goal AND a sore head This bizarre own goal comes from the US college game between Mid
America Nazarene and Oklahoma Baptist. The Oklahoma keeper attempts to punt the ball downfield, but
succeeds only in locating the back of a defender's head. The ball knocks the player to the ground
before looping back [.
Molde FK are a 100 year old Norwegian club that most of you probably hadn't heard of until they
sold us a 23-year-old striker in 1996. He had scored 31 goals in 38 games and had attracted
interest from a few clubs across Europe. Åge Hareide was the manager at the time and offered the
Norwegian striker to his former club, Manchester City, we well as Everton, for £1.

Defoe 66'

Unlike last week's loss, today held absolutely zero grasping-at-straws positives. An unhelpful,
card-happy referee was the least of Liverpool's concerns. Nothing went right. No one played well.
Tottenham won at a canter; a four-goal scoreline barely flatters an insipid opposition.

A trip to the German Champions in their mighty fortress was always going to be a difficult game.
We went with a team that is still getting to know each other's first names so the writing was on
the wall and every pundit pre match was predicting we would be lucky to escape with a draw.
Dallas Cowboys fans hold their breath whenever Dez Bryant is returning a punt. Not only because
he has a chance to return any punt for a touchdown but also because there's more of a chance that
he could get injured. In Week 1 of the 2011 NFL season, the downside already came into light when
Bryant suffered a bruised quad.
When Joe Cole was available on a free transfer from Chelsea last summer, I was one of many
United fans who thought he'd be worth a punt. Turns out the club weren't interested but I was not
alone in thinking he might be worth the wages with him coming without a transfer fee.
Cole, who claimed to be a lifelong Chelsea fan, rubbed salt in the wounds of blues upon signing
for Liverpool.
Owen Hargreaves looks set to sign for Manchester's other club Manchester City after struggling
with injury in recent seasons. Despite the lack of regular first team football Mancini seems set to
take a punt on the holding midfield player.
Ferguson obviously isn't able to promise Hargreaves what he wants to keep him at Old Trafford,
but what can City offer him that United cannot?

After spending the summer making a decuplet of signings that all rate somewhere fairly high on
the 'impressive' spectrum (Wes Brown, John O'Shea, Connor Wickham, Seb Larsson, Craig Gardner,
etc), Sunderland are about to add an eleventh and, perhaps, this one is the most impressive of them
all.

Kiev Full-Back on Dalglish's Radar
Brazilian defender Gerson Magrao has caught the eye of Dalglish and Comolli in terms of a
transfer, according to talkSPORT. The Dynamo Kiev left-back could be brought to Anfield in a step
to strengthen the back-line – with three goals being conceded each game by the Reds during
pre-season.
While rumours are gathering pace over a bid from Spurs for Roma's Mirko Vucinic, a new target
has emerged today in the shape of Hamburg striker Paulo Guerrero.
Earlier in the week, the Peruvian forward made one of those obscure comments that the press like
to jump on from time to time,
"I am on holiday and it is a fact that I am still under contract at Hamburg," he told the German
press.
After Spurs completed the signing of Souleymane Coulibaly, the rumour mills continued to link
the club with young players from across Europe.
Whether this is a significant shift in our transfer policy or not, some of these names are
definitely interesting and Alan Gatagov is one who could make an impact in the Premiership.
He is talented but hugely unlikeable and not just because of his stint at Arsenal. I couldn't
understand a word that came out his mouth during the World Cup when he was helping diversify the
BBC's panel of pundits. He puts in 110% for a few games a season but is largely lazy. I think that
pretty much sums up Emmanuel Adebayor.
