Roque Santa Cruz has told Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez not to make promises he cannot keep.
Benitez stated last week that he could 'guarantee' Liverpool would finish in the top four of the
Premier League this season.
The Reds are currently eighth after a disappointing start and must improve considerably over the
second half of the campaign to ensure UEFA Champions League qualification.
One of the things I hate about people, life if you may, is when promises are broken. If you
can't keep 'em, don't make 'em! I once told my friend I'd visit him when he was living in a
different city. But due to one thing or another, I never got around to it.
If we are to believe what Ramsey has said recently, Wenger is looking to start him in 15-20
games this year.
This Saturday's Malaysia Cup final promises to be an absolute cracker Gromit. Yes, it does
Brian.
35,000 tickets will be on general sale from Friday at the Bukit Jalil Stadium from 11 am through to
10 pm.
Kelantan are recieving an allocation of 30,000 while Negeri Sembilan, much closer to KL, get
20,000.
The league authority would have a lot to answer and convince the large number of dwindling local
football supporters over the decision to admit another foreign club into the foray.
"Having foreign teams in the league would add colours and help to boast the standard of play in the
league." as what the league authority used to rationale the largely unpopular move, especially
among those remnant fans of those "sit-out" clubs like Tanjong Pagar United, Jurong FC and
Sembawang Rangers.
Bob Malcolm and Craig Moore will not play next week. Certainly in the case of Malcolm that is a
very good thing. He may be the worse import the A-League has had. Robbie Slater described his work
as the worst defending he had seen in the A-League. He caused the first 2 goals. The first bounced
off him to the Mariners (2nd time in two weeks) and the 2nd he decided not to tackle.
The oldest professional football club believe it or not faces the possibility of court
proceedings for non-payment of taxes.
Months after a Qadbak Investments, a Middle East company, whose owners remain largely
unidentified bought over Notts County, they are faced with a huge tax bill which had accrued under
Blenheim 1862, the former parent company.
Yeah, I know I said I'd post this last week. I'll live up to my promises once I get paid for them.

We're a month past the end of the Rapids season, 2 days past the end of the MLS season. Seems like
a good time to review how we did.
Goalkeeping: Matt Pickens was a solid yet unspectacular starter in goal for Colorado.
Or at least that's what his agent reckons.
Mario Mamic: that rare breed of sorts who's able to do his day job (whatever the hell that is)
without displaying the charms of a two-bit crack dealer who keeps a wrench under his pillow in case
‘Big Tony' should ever make good on his promises.
Following Liverpool's recent home draw with Manchester City, Rafa Benitez was emphatic and postive
about Liverpool's chances of finishing in the top four. In an ironic twist, the player in which he
seems to have the most faith does not seem to share his faith in the club's league chances.
After the City game, Benitez was clear about where Liverpool would end up in the league this
season:
"We will finish in the top four.
Darren Fletcher was robbed of his place in the European Cup final after the referee in the
semi-final wrongly judged him to have fouled Cesc Fabregas in the penalty area.
Barcelona's midfield ripped us to shreds and we will always be left to wonder what would have
happened if Fletcher had been playing.
Portsmouth 1 (Belhadj 74) Arsenal 4 (Eduardo 28, Nasri 42, Ramsey 69, Song
81)
(Premiership)
I have to admit that I have a soft spot for Portsmouth. Whether it is the proximity to where I
live (south coast), the fact they seem to be punching above their weight, or a memory of the day
they generously applauded our team off the field after we'd destroyed them in the FA Cup, I don't
know.
And so ends another year, and another decade, if you believe that decades run from years 0-9 (an
oddity given that there was no year zero).
As far as years go, it hasn't been half bad. For all the lack of a trophy, we've reached two
semi finals, outscored every other Premiership side, lost fewer games than anyone, and even started
to play a more expansive game since the switch to 4-3-3.
