The John Terry controversies a complete list - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
John Terry on his day is one of the best central defenders in the Premier League, and certainly
an important player for Chelsea and England.
However, the 31-year-old is in danger of missing out on Euro 2012, after being stripped of his
nation's captaincy due to the ongoing allegations of racism against the Barking-born man.
An ode to Mario Balotelli: his notorious on and off-field antics (to date) - originally posted
on Soccerlens.com
Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli is without doubt one of the most interesting, but
controversial players in the current game. Flashes of brilliance for the Etihad Stadium outfit,
Inter and Italy testify to the 21-year-old's ability, but scandal and strange off-field behaviour
have never been too far away in the attacker's short career to date.

L'Impact Montréal, we love you and your Muppets
Over in Quebec (and the whole of North America), the Montréal Impact are starting to create a
steady buzz in the football community as they get ready to join MLS. I wrote a piece for The
Football Ramble on the unique challenges facing L'Impact.

His name on a Union lineup card results in instant vitriol on this and other websites.
His face in the Philadelphia locker room produces a very different result. Following a
spectacular three-goal turnaround that earned a 4-4 tie against the Revolution, Sebastien Le Toux
said with a laugh, "My teammates joke around with me, especially Stefani Miglioranzi, that in the
last ten games I'm going to score every game and help the team the best I can like I didn't do at
the beginning of the season.
Stat Attack: The Relentless Cristiano Ronaldo - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Just how 'good' is Cristiano Ronaldo? Earlier we shared news on the 'Cristiano Ronaldo: Tested
to the Limit' documentary which subjects CR to a series of innovate tests to measure his
performances. But that's still lab testing, off the pitch, not a true measure of a footballer's
abilities.

Is Sebastien Le Toux back?
Two goals from the run of play in two games, both spectacular in nature.
Is the cold streak over for good? Has the Le Toux we knew and loved returned to greatness?
With strikers, goals can come in bunches and disappear in vacuums.
When it comes to managing the football side of things, who is the most important person at Anfield?
Obviously, the answer is Kenny Dalglish, and I'm sure every fan would agree. However, according to
Liverpool's official website, Damien Commolli is (seemingly) top dog at Anfield.
I was browsing the LFC website earlier and came across the following on the 'First Team' page:
As you can see, Commolli's name comes before Dalglish's in the managerial hierarchy, which is
clearly in order of importance.
SPANISH FOOTBALL Club REAL MADRID continue fine tuning their team & "machine" with a 1 - 7 victory
over the current China Super League leaders GUANGZHOU EVERGRANDE in the first of their friendly

On the eve of the showdown between Brazil and the US, I thought readers might enjoy looking at a
couple early profiles of Marta - material produced before "that goal" (scored against the US in the
2007 World Cup).
John Turnbull's 2006 profile of the player is one of the best out there:
'Tis the season for tears: The extraordinary, untold story of Marta Viera da Silva (The Global
Game)
Almost everything on Marta tells the same story and was no doubt shaped by her press kit.
Switzerland's Xherdan Shaqiri put in another fine display as his side earned a noteworthy 2-2 draw
away against Group G leaders England on Saturday. UEFA.com profiles the exciting schemer.

you visit DateASounder.com. There you will find video dating profiles for Puget Sound's most

Maybe you heard, maybe you didn't. Fast Five somehow turned out to be not only a box office
success a given but a critical one as well. No shit. Myself? I haven't seen it yet, but plan on
enjoying the lush scenery, sharp dialogue and gripping storyline soon enough.
A new episode of Sports Show with Norm MacDonald airs tonight (Tuesday, May 3) at 10:30pm/9:30c
on Comedy Central and we've got a few clips from the show.
Filipino politician/pop-star/boxer Manny Pacquiao will engage in a spirited round of fisticuffs
with "Sugar" Shane Mosley this Saturday in, oh, let's say, Vegas.
Part of SBNation.com Soccer's preview for the 2011 MLS season are profiles and previews on
incoming international players. Philadelphia Union goalkeeper Faryd Mondragon was one of those
incoming internationals chosen to be previewed on SB Nation soccer.
Here's part of my preview on Mondragon for the site:

In his second contribution to the two unfortunates in as many weeks, Ben Barrett profiles Stephen
Henderson, scourge of many a League One striker. The role of second choice goalkeeper must be one
of the most frustrating jobs in football, yet being a back-up and then seeing your club sign an
England stopper must make your heart sick.
Shortly all the guess work will be done. Real players will be under the control of real teams.
Mocks will only exist to be mocked, and instead the timeline will move to training camps and roster
battles.
Like any major sports league the MLS SuperDraft starts out on ESPN2 (www.ESPN3.com if you must)

team uniforms and emblems, and a quick snapshot of details like foundation date and titles won.
