In an effort to bring more of a community feel to the site, and more activity to the fanpost
area, I'm introducing Union Meeting. This fanpost, and future versions of it, are for off topic
discussions, aka nothing involving the Philadelphia Union. The purpose of this fanpost is to allow
everyone to get to know one another a bit better and encourage more discussion throughout the
site.
Laconic: We did not get any points this weekend.
Reality: I would say that this is just about the darkest day in the history of Arsenal Football
Club.
That turd is smiling 'cause he's a Spurs fan.
When I write my match reports, I usually start on them during the match, in order to save time
and get more info and thoughts on the match written down before I lose them.
I want to take this opportunity to inform our newest readers that not only can this site be
blunt at times, but there may be sparse usage of profanity as well.
I'm certain some people find this outrageous or just off-putting and that's ok. This is simply
my way of saying this blog is probably not for you, and it might be best to unsubscribe.
Marc Narducci's column for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Philly.com has brought outrage and
hatred from Philadelphia Union fans, especially the Sons of Ben.
The Union beat reporter wrote a somewhat nonsensical piece for the Inky that criticized the
Union fanbase for booing the team and for using organized chants that are laced with profanity.
It's no secret. Tim Howard was not pleased with how the Gold Cup awards ceremony played out.
For those of you who haven't seen, this is what he had to say:
CONCACAF should be ashamed of themselves. I think it was a [expletive] disgrace that the
entire postmatch ceremony was in Spanish.
U.S. men's national team goalkeeper Tim Howard caused a stir following Saturday's Gold Cup final
loss to Mexico when he lashed out at CONCACAF for the format of the post-game ceremonies at the
Rose Bowl, which were held mostly in Spanish.
Howard's comments were a reaction to what Howard felt was a slight by CONCACAF of the host
nation, and he was clearly upset during his profanity-laced tirade.
KYW's Greg Orlandini and the PSP's Dan Walsh are talking Union, the Gold Cup and about the
controversial expulsion of New England supporters in this week's edition of the Philly Soccer
Show.
In part one, Greg and Dan look at the loss in Vancouver and preview the games against Kansas
City and Chivas USA.
The Sons of Ben and Philadelphia Union have butted heads on profanity in chants a couple times
this year, but the front office of the team did not go anywhere near where the New England
Revolution went with their own supporters groups on Saturday.
Words from the Union came after the use of the popular USA men's national team supporters "You
Suck, ***hole" chant was loudly heard on ESPN, CSN and abc6, along with throughout the stadium
earlier this season.
First of all, "X" has been blocked from making comments on this site. All of his comments have been
deleted. Second, I will not tolerate profanity in the comments. AT ALL. I take pride in making
comments about soccer as calmly and intelligently as possible, and I expect my readers to do the
same. That this is the first time that I have to had to write such a post is a testament to the
quality of readers that I have.
Coca-Cola has terminated their relationship with noted English beverage enthusiast Wayne Rooney.
Surprisingly the reason they cited is his since-since forgotten dalliance with trash Manchester
hookers while his wife was pregnant and had nothing to do with his weekend profanity seminar.
However nothing quenches the thirst you work up while kicking a dog while its down better than a
Coke Zero!
