Wenger needs to buy five new players now, and five experienced ones at that...
Where would we be without Twitter? It provides us all with a never-ending conveyor belt of
controversy and quirkiness, which us lazy writing types can quickly and easily fashion into a nice
little story.

Short and sweet. Our nation's prematurely balding monarch-in-waiting Prince William an Aston
Villa fan by trade (look, he even has a hat!) giving a heckler his honest and
frank assessment of former Brum manager Alex McLeish's appointment as Villa boss back in the summer
while clambering into his car.
Roaring Royal A few months late, this video has risen to prominence after being spotted by the
Birmingham Mail. It shows Aston Villa fan Prince William appearing to let out a hysterical laugh
when asked about Alex McLeish on the day the former Birmingham boss took charge at Villa Park last
August. The Duke of [.
FIFA President Sepp Blatter is facing what could be the toughest phase of his career as football
head in the more than 10 years since he took over from Joao Havelange.
The president recently came out to say that England are still bitter at him for their failed
attempt to land the hosting rights to the 2018 tournament.

It could have been a rough week for John Terry. Fabio Capello's decision to include his captain
in the squad against Spain and Sweden in the upcoming international friendlies was gearing up to be
the talking point of the build up.
I originally published this post here back in November 2009, talking about the crusade to try to
shame all Premier League clubs into attaching a poppy to their playing shirts, but the current
furore around FIFA's refusal to make an exception and allow the English football team to display
the same emblem on their shirts in this week's international match against Spain is essentially the
same argument being repeated again.
utilizarlo.

Charles Boehm wrote recently about how the new USSF curriculum that was created by Claudio Reyna is
starting to make it's way into our youth soccer setting here in the United States.
Last year U.S. Soccer hired Claudio Reyna as the federation's youth technical director, tasking
the former Men's National Team star with evaluating and revitalizing the nation's approach to
player development from the ground up.
A personal view -
One story has been suffocating all other news in Britain this week - the phone hacking furore
surrounding Rupert Murdoch's media empire.
Journalists have been arrested, senior policemen have resigned, politicians of both main parties
are scrambling to deny their links to News International, Hugh Grant has led the prosecution and
tonight comes news of the sudden death of a whistleblower.
Japan's win over USA in the Women's World Cup final set a record 7,196 tweets per second (TPS).
It was followed closely by the 7,196 TPS generated by the Brazil vs Paraguay in the closing minutes
on the same day.
In comparison, the previous record set on New Years Eve in Japan in 2010 produced 6,939 TPS at
its peak.
"I say, one believes Vancouver to never get a NutCan. God Save Me."Two days later and
we've still got NutCan buzz! Some have advised to seek medical attention, possibly an ointment, but
we care not. It's thrice as nice! Yes, in the grand scheme of world football winning the Voyageurs
Cup isn't exactly the Jules Rimet but for suffering Reds supporters it was a sweet and almost fated
victory.

The LA Galaxy looks set to lose another key player for Saturday's match against Toronto FC.
Galaxy midfielder Juninho will miss the club's match with Toronto FC on Saturday to get married
in his native Brazil. Juninho is added to a list that includes Landon Donovan and Donovan Ricketts,
who are on International duty.
SPARTAKUS CSKA Moscow 0-1 Spartak Moscow (30:04:11) Liverpool fan Nick Kelly joins the Royal
Wedding avoidance party - in Moscow.... Upon the announcement in November that Prince William was
to marry Kate Middleton, my overriding thoughts were not of joy for the happy couple, but of nausea
and a desire for escape.
"The time has come," the Walrus said,
"To talk of many things:
Of shoes and ships and sealing-wax
Of cabbages and kings
And why the sea is boiling hot
And whether pigs have wings."

In the run up to Blatter's coronation we've had all kinds of lurid tales including some
concerning our unsuccessful World Cup bid: principally the suggestion that the FA Cup could be

With two days to go until the biggy, we reckon it's high-time to begin ramping up the Champions
League fever so, to that end, here's a whopping batch of brilliant photos from the last time
Manchester United met Barcelona in the final the Catalans eventually running out 2-0 winners at the
Stadio Olimpico in Rome, May 27th 2009.
David Beckham's decision to attend the Royal Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton last
month was controversial, but at least defensible. He was an invitee of the Royal Family, which is a
huge honor, and Beckham is among other things a deeply loyal citizen to his country. Personally, I
felt he should have declined so as not to put the Galaxy in a difficult situation, but I can
understand his desire to attend the wedding.
When the boys' soccer teams from Manassas Park and George Mason met earlier this season, the hype
inside the Prince William school rose to a level that the players had never before seen.

NVSC Press Release:
The Northern Virginia Soccer Club is pleased to announce Bill Lanza as the NVSC Technical
Director of Coaching (TDOC). Bill brings to NVSC a unique combination of local, state, and
national-level soccer experience to the club. Bill has been a member of the Northern Virginia
soccer community for over 27 years, both as a player and as a trainer/coach.
At first glance, Soccer appears to be quite distant from anything related to this week's Royal
Wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. But there's more to it than meets the eye. The
English Premier League is, of course, one of the greatest club Soccer leagues in the world and has
been for many years.

For some reason, this year with the added amount of teams in the leagues and new faces shifting
all over the place, I've had a spot of trouble keeping track of all the league DPs. Who are they
all? What was the last team they played for? What should I expect from this bunch?
