Mitt Romney is so far removed from how conservative Republicans perceive their representative for
the party's presidential nomination should be that his winning could spur a break-off
candidate.
Newt Gingrich looks the part to take this on if Romney wins the Republican nomination.

For some time, Texas has been considered untouchable for Republicans. Major elections have been
owned by them. Texas has voted Republican for President, Governor and Senators for years.
But, Rick Perry is pushing hard to give Democrats a chance in these next elections by acting like a
person confounded by his beliefs, tongue-twisted with his verbal skills and unaware of the impact
of his actions.
Don't you just hate those arrogant, talented, supremely handsome Americans? Me too. Well, this
American had the pleasure of writing for and speaking with some friends from across the Atlantic,
and the results were marvelous. At least in my humble imperialist American opinion.
First, I penned a piece for the excellent 200 percent.

The 8th of September 2011 marks an historic date for the old lady of Italian football. The
opening of a new state of the art stadium is every bit reflective of the new lease of life she has
had breathed into her.
Some scattered thoughts on the season just gone, which like a good adventure movie had its highs
and lows before the uplifting, happy ending.
the boardroom and the locker roomFor all the talk of a steady transition, the election of Sandro Rosell bought about a revolution in
the board room at the beginning of this season.
Prince Nawaf bin Faisal, the president of the Saudi Arabia Football Association, reportedly sees

Sepp Blatter is going to be the president of FIFA for at least four more years.
Technically, he's running for office this year, but as is customary, he's running unopposed.
There are a wide variety of reasons why this is a bad thing, and the problems with Sepp have been
outlined in a variety of places by a variety of people.
Qatar may lose the World Cup.
A Fifa inquiry into persistent claims of corruption during the bidding process could lead to the
FIFA executive committee making the unprecedented move of redoing the vote that gave Qatar the
victory.

Following the latest events linked to the Football Association of Indonesia (PSSI), the FIFA
Emergency Committee decided on 1 April 2011 that, in accordance with article 7 paragraph 2 of the
FIFA Statutes, a Normalisation Committee will take over from the current PSSI executive
committee.
The FIFA Emergency Committee estimated that the current PSSI leadership was not in control of
football in Indonesia as proven by the failure to gain control of the run-away league (Liga
Premiere, LPI) set up without the involvement of PSSI or by the fact it could not organise a
congress whose sole goals were to adopt an electoral code and elect an electoral commission.
Fifa and Uefa have suspended Bosnia-Herzegovina from world football, because its federation refuses
to replace its three-member presidency with a single leader.
That's what FIFA members are going to be asked to choose between on June 1. Sepp Blatter or
Mohammad bin Hammam. And surprisingly, it's not an easy decision. Here's the deal. Everyone knows
Sepp is corrupt. And for his part bin Hammam has stated that his corruption will only last two
terms... I mean, his presidency, will only last two terms.
Grant Wahl is everywhere at the moment, from Bloomberg TV and CNN International, to BBC and
international outlets of the soccer/football variety. He was also kind enough to give me some of
his time to talk about his candidacy for the presidency of FIFA, a conversation that covered just
how serious this thing is, how making himself the story fits with his role at SI, the various
planks of his platform (including the two women he believes are qualified to be General Secretary),
and the response to his bid from around the world.

Blatter as FIFA's leader" journalist Grant Wahl has announced his intentions to run for FIFA's

falling on June 1.
Likely inspired by events in Egypt, Tunisia, Yemen, Bahrain, Jordan, Algeria, Libya, Iran....
Grant Wahl, US soccer journalist, wants to shake up FIFA. He doesn't want you to take to the
streets. He just wants a little bit of support.
And to run against Sepp Blatter for the Presidency of FIFA.
Chung Mong-Joon, the former FIFA Vice-President, today tweeted that his close friend and
AFC President Mohamed Bin-Hammam is to challenge Sepp Blatter for the Presidency of FIFA in
June.
"It seems he will challenge the FIFA presidential election in June," wrote the Korean
who was unseated by a Blatter loyalist Prince Ali Bin Hussein of Jordan at the AFC Congress in Doha
in January.
