So we comfortably dispatched of Wolves in the end, the first 20 minutes or so were a little
nervy but Diaby picked up a calf strain bringing Alex Song into the fray, we never looked back as
minutes later one of two slightly fortuitous goals was scored.
The final two goals were class though, the first involved a lung busting run from Cesc Fabregas
to get on the end of a move, his finish was coolness personified.

Another home game, another win, another game with over three goals. Nearly three months into the
season and we have not scored less than three goals in a home game in any competition, it shows
just how strong we have been at home this season and any team visiting the Grove will be aware of
this record and aware of how strong the squad we have is.

It looks like we have shut the Spuds up for another few months then with a performance that left
even the most hardy Spurs fans noting that they had some way to go to catch up with us.
I had a very good feeling before the game, a feeling I hadn't had since that 5-1 beating we
took. Maybe it was confidence or just a sign of what was to come, whatever it was I liked it and
enjoyed every second of this North London Derby.

So the big game is here at last and oh how lovely it would be to give these spuds a damn good
mashing, we haven't done so for a while and it would make it rather sweet.
You may think I'm wrong in calling the 4-4 game a defeat, but after getting so close to beating
them only to see them haul it back, it felt like a defeat.

I officially have no voice. It is not very nice and I am resorting to writing insults down and
showing them to the intended recipient rather than just shouting it at them. Some people might say
its karma, I just call it a bloody annoyance, and a painful one at that.
So we make the short trip to Upton Park today and it has been the scene of many a hardfought
game over the past few years and on a few occasions we have come out of it with a big fat 0
points.

I'm back after a hectic week that is set to continue on Monday as I take a jaunt down to the
Grove. I missed most of the game yesterday but caught the highlights in the evening and from what I
saw it was a pretty decent post interlull performance.
Robin van Persie looks to be causing havoc at the moment and I would say he is in as good a form
as he has ever been in his Arsenal career, its on par with the spell he had earlier on in the year
when he was winning us games and keeping us in the top four single handedly.

Well that was bloody fantastic.
It was probably one of the best attacking displays I have seen and the scary thought is that at
the start of both half's it took quite a while for us to get going, if we had been at that
intensity for 90 minutes Blackburn and their fat manager would have still been totting up all the
goals 24 hours on.

Well, the game kicks off in half an hour, I need to get a shift on.
Blackburn and their vile manager are visiting the Grove this afternoon and after United slipped
up yesterday we need to take advantage and close the points gap, especially with Liverpool and
Chelsea playing each other. This season is certainly shaping up to be an interesting one, teams
lower down the table believe they can beat any of the top 4 teams this season and we have had a
fair few suprises in a short amount of time.

Afternoon all,
this was supposed to be written this morning but you know how it goes, you wake up...snooze for
another five minutes...wake up again...snooze for another five, then your alarm goes off just as
you are comfortably in that dozy warm phase and in a moment of madness you punch your phone as hard
as possible and it no longer makes any sound.

Some people wanted a defender and a striker brought in in the summer, it looks like we got both
in one Thomas Vermaelen.
Two fantastic goals, his third and fourth of the season for us pretty much secured the three
points in a game where we were brilliant one minute and infuriatingly sloppy the next.

Afternoon.
Ive just about calmed down now. The performance from us was poor, be it a post interlull
hangover I don't know, but the urgency, pressure high up the field and overall hard work was just
not there and a scintillating start to the season has been turned on its head. Played 4, won 2 lost
2.

This is slightly later than planned so sorry about that. I had this dream last night, I was
playing for Derby County against Arsenal and it finished 4-4, even though I was playing for Derby
(yes I know, my brain doesn't know what side its bread's buttered on), I wanted Arsenal to win of
course.
Strange one.

Morning all,
well yesterday was interesting, through pure stupidity we managed to lose a game we were winning
comfortably. We conceded a penalty that wasn't, but Almunia seemed to want to do everything to
convince the ref it was a penalty by flying off his line to the feet of the already falling Wayne
Rooney and Diaby seemed to get confused as to what end he was supposed to be playing towards.

So after all the fuss about Eduardo these past few days, will there be the same outcry about
Wayne Rooney's tumble in a much more important game and by a widely coined honest English
player?
The only difference from Wednesday night is that Almunia didn't keep his arms close to his body
like Boruc did.

Morning all,
it feels a little strange having a game of this magnitude so early on in the season but it could
be key for both teams in the rest of the season. A winner would not only boast bragging rights but
it gives the chance for Arsenal to put the shameful defeat of last season to bed and fill the team
with confidence.

I'm going to start doing a few new things on Sunday to liven up the days blog, if you have a few
spare seconds it would be fantastic if you could leave me a comment at the bottom of the page
giving me a little bit of feedback... After all, today is the first birthday of this blog!
Arsenal 4 1 Portsmouth
So, yesterday saw us take on Pompey at home, and by all means it was an impressive performance,
4 goals and an easy win by all accounts.

Alright all,
we host Pompey today for the first home game of the season in our new Arsenalised stadium. There
is a chance the team could remain the same for the first three games of the season, I'm expecting
an unchanged side of:
Almunia, Sagna, Gallas, Vermaelen, Clichy, Song, Denilson, Fabregas, Arshavin, Bendtner, van
Persie.

Not in the mood yet?
Well we have been waiting for this day since May, even before that after last season fizzled out
but we do not have to wait much longer. I love the little video above, Eduardo's Arnie like "I'm
back" in particular.
We have been written off by everyone it seems, I think all the top four teams are weaker apart
from us.
