Gym members at Tyneside health club were left furious on Monday night after Hatem Ben Arfa turned up to do his workout in a PSG kit. Just two days after the Newcastle winger came on as a sub during the 6-0 hammering at home to Liverpool, he opted for the unfortunate choice of outfit as [...]
Not surprisingly its been popular with our inconsistent start of the season to question if the
coaching change was the right move. I supported the move at the time and I continue to support it
now. Apparently I'm not alone as the Burgundy Wave blog has a great Hero Worship article about the
flawed comparisons between Gary Smith and Oscar Pareja.
This 'ere is the work of artist James Hible, a couple of A1 posters entitled 'Football
Anecdotes: The Beautiful Game?' which documents everything about the modern game that fills our
James with venomous rage. As the man himself explains:
"Football is a big passion of mine and what these posters highlight is the problems affecting
the beautiful game.
The beautiful game of football was complimented recently by the stunningly beautiful work of
Zoran Lucić, who created these soccer themed posters. The posters combine images of great
footballers with interesting typography, graphic design and creative illustrations to create some
truly amazing pieces of soccer/football art.
People of Earth, welcome to the future. As of next season, Lyon are going to be wearing a '3D'
kit in their European games. Three dimensions. Up, Across and Back.
"But the very nature of our human perception of perspective renders all kits three-dimensional,
it's a basic concept," we hear you cry, to which we say "Nay, this, friends.
When I was a lad I read Roy of the Rovers every week. Aside from the main story, in which Roy
Race and Melchester Rovers went about their business, there were various other stories, too. My
favourite was always Goalkeeper, in which young Rick Stewart tried to make his way in the game.
(FYI: Rick was the son of the late, great, Gordon Stewart, who had been the focus of the story in
previous years.

These are showing up a bit late in the game(s) what with two remaining and all but with a
tournament featuring a gargantuan hog, some eye candy must be appreciated. These posters from David
Watson, one for each team plus more, are wonderfully simple and wonderfully easy on the eye.
Following ESPN's very successful and creative set of posters to commemorate World Cup 2010, ESPN

Euro 2012 kicks off tomorrow with co-hosts Poland taking on Greece and Russia taking on the
Czech Republic in the two opening Group A fixtures.
Teams and fans will travel long distances to play across Poland and Ukraine in the 8 Euro 2012

their luck), there are only 6 games to play if you are to win the tournament.
Tottenham announce that Harry Redknapp will be England manager - originally posted on

BREAKING NEWS: Today's news is completely broken. Tottenham have taken the bold step of
announcing that Harry Redknapp will be England manager for Euro 2012. The move comes as a surprise
because while many people (all of Harry's friends in the press) were certain that Redknapp would
get the England callup, the FA has been quiet about the whole affair.
I was wondering if this boy know who is this S.League footballer "in front" of himI would like to
apologize for the lack of update of late due to my heavy day job workload that has been piling up
in recent months (those who know me personally should know how my workplace has been under scrutiny
of since last December).
An artistic triumph for football fans living in university dorm rooms across the

Not since Franck Ribery started his underage prostitute charity program has one footballer seen
his value drop so precipitously in such a short frame of time. From a staunch tag of somewhere in
the £40m in the summer to, well, that poster on the left.
Home to all the greats, also known as the second division in Northern Ireland.
The posters are back Remember the heady days of the Manchester billboard wars of 2009? Well,
they're back. Salford's Photoshop freedom fighters have been spurred into action by the news that
released Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves has undergone a medical at Manchester City.
The England midfielder is no stranger to medical examination as [.

Brain sent me a response to the article the article he inspired concerning mental toughness
which I posted just last week. Half-Ref asked if I could get a response from Brian Baxter, the
Sports Psychologist I was able to sit down with early in the year. Brain sent me an email after
that and this is his response: (The Brian who responded was not Brian Baxter)
Here's my take on the article:
I like the answers that some of the other posters have given
In short, mental toughness can be taught, as long as the athlete(s) want to learn it.

The Hillsborough Justice Campaign have announced they are to follow up their campaign that saw
25,000 posters distributed at the Carling Cup Final with another 30,000 Don't Buy The Sun posters
for the FA Cup semi-final against neighbours Everton at Wembley.
The match takes place on the eve of the 23rd anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster, and
resulting boycott of the ‘newspaper' since.
Whether your speak Francais or not, it's not hard to pick up on the "Middle Ages Crusaders" theme
that new boys Montreal Impact are bringing to Major League Soccer. The intimidation and the
audacity is set pretty high, but why not?
The idea even reminds us of a little "Phun With Photoshop" we did on Impact coach Jesse Marsch a
few months back after he cleaned up at the Expansion Draft.
I rarely post photos on this blog that are not mine but these are an exception. Gary Rohman is a
fellow photographer that I sometimes work with and a friend. He is the team photographer for
Sporting KC so many of the photos you see used in ads, posters and the website are Gary's. In
addition to being a very good commercial photographer, he shoots the games and has captured some
great shots.
