Benfica 21 year old striker Nelson Oliveira could be moved out on loan as the Eagles are said to be
offering his services to French clubs Bordeaux and Saint-Etienne. The Portuguese U21 year old
international is not currently getting much playing time at the Luz and with the signing of Djalo
will have even less first team action.

Real Madrid 4 Athletic Bilbao 1
Welcome to La Liga Lunes! As you may know, Mourinho's formidable Los
Blancos defeated Bilbao 4-1 last night, despite Llorente's opening goal in the 13th minute.
Unfortunately, the Portuguese was also at the receiving end of jeers from the Madridista
crowd, who were allegedly annoyed that he wasn't able to pin down Barcelona
earlier in the week.
Rumours are circulating of a serious training ground dispute between coach Jose Mourinho and
vice-captain Sergio Ramos on Friday.
According to Madrid-based sports paper Marca, Mourinho accused his playing staff of betrayal
following their post-match press reaction on Wednesday night.
No better source than the kid's own mouth.
Glad to see that the club has finally wrapped this deal up. It's been a highly disappointing
season for McEachran thus far, with the player finding it damn near impossible to break into the
first team at Chelsea under Andre Villas-Boas.
The draw that Chelsea achieved against Fulham on Monday, puts their chance in challenging for
title becomes difficult again and this situation is also being admitted by the club's manager,
Andre Villas-Boas.
The Portuguese tactician doesn't want to say that everything is already over, since the
competition is still long, but the ex-Porto coach admitted that it's much more wiser for his team
to focus on their results first before looking at the top teams ahead of them.
In the summer, Chelsea were heavily linked with a potential transfer move for Luca Modric and
Gary Cahill and with the winter transfer window set to open, rumors obviously spreads again
regarding that possibilities.
However, the club's new manager, Andre Villas-Boas, immediately squashed the rumors as the young
tactician noted that those players are not in his mind again this season, since he is pretty much
satisfied with what he has at the moment.
Some interesting news coming out of Andre Villas-Boas' press conference post-Newcastle. The
Portuguese confirmed that the club has received transfer requests from both Nicolas Anelka and
Alex, and that both have been accepted. Cue more January transfer window speculation.
No more of this then.

A great match for the Europa League generation Portuguese side Maribor must have thought they were

Harry Redknapp told us over the weekend not to expect any transfer activity at the Lane this
winter but that was never going to stop the rumour mills from continuing to turn.
However, it may be as a result of the exit rumours concerning Vedran Corluka that Portuguese
right back Joao Pereira has now been linked with a January move to the club.

Real Madrid currently occupy third place while Barcelona are on top but only by a point with
Levante separating the perennial contenders in Spain. One of the main reasons behind Real's 24
goals in 7 La Liga matches is the presence of key player Cristiano Ronaldo, but the Portuguese star
is not the only reason behind this tally which is second to Barca only.
I am surprised that AVB has said that he believes the arrival of Juan Mata has had nothing to do
with the return to form of Fernando Torres. When he was asked about it he said the following:
"[It has] Nothing to do with it, in my opinion. We don't add in terms of nationalities
for every player, for people to get involved socially outside of the pitch.
Chelsea have offered striker Salomon Kalou a new deal to replace his current contract that ends
next summer. The 26 year old striker has in the recent past become surplus to the squad after the
arrival of Mata, Toress and Lukakhu.
Of course, there are very many different views as to whether Kalou deserves to be a Blues
player, however, the truth of the matter is that his talent cannot be doubted.
It is now more then 24 hours since the disappointing loss to Denmark, a loss that has sent our
National side to the playoff zone and one final attempt to qualify for Euro 2012. Portugal will
face either Turkey, Bosnia, Montenegro or Estonia in a home and home in November and the Quinas
should not take any of these countries for granted.
Portugal's loss to Denmark yesterday is almost like a deja-vu from World Cup 2010 qualifying as the
Danes took the group and Portugal needed to defeat Bosnia to reach the soccers main stage. Portugal
can thank the Dutch for losing to Sweden costing the Portuguese an automatic spot in Euro 2012 as
the best second place finisher, so as seems the norm of late, Portugal will need to qualifying
Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo faces a nervous two-legged play-off tie in order to seal his

Both teams came out the tunnel to an amazing atmosphere in Copenhagen, Denmark. You could sure tell
that the crowd was up for it. It was 'winner takes all' and Denmark deservedly took the plaudits
and prize. The Dane's played 1/2 touch football all night, the Portuguese struggled to get near
them in long periods of the game.
So Ricardo Costa is miffed that he isnt being played. He recently had an interview in

What have we been telling you about for weeks? Months, even? Have you been paying attention? Do you
know what's happening this week? If you guessed that all hell was breaking loose in the rankings
then you've been paying attention.
A few weeks ago, when English and Portuguese clubs had last season's numbers drop out of the
equations, it didn't cause a huge tremor in the rankings.

Since the loss of Cristiano Ronaldo to the Spanish La Liga, the Premier League was searching for a
new world class player who could be as brilliant as the phenomenal Portuguese. Fernando Torres
threatened briefly until he started sulking more than scoring, Didier Drogba could never be that
star face as he is all brute force but Carlos Tevez could have been that world class marquee player
that the Barclays Premier League needed.
FC Basel's warm-up mats are ridiculously organized but they won't know it from

Just as last season, Manchester United's winger, Luis Nani, had a promising start into the
season, becoming one of the most influential players for Sir Alex Ferguson's team especially in the
premier league, where they managed to keep a perfect record so far.
This good condition encouraged Nani to dream big this season as he is eying to become the best
player in the world, but before achieving that ambition, the Portuguese winger understand that
first he needs to provide more titles for his club.

In which Cristiano Ronaldo is seen doling out the old middle-finger salute while boarding the
Real Madrid coach after getting a pretty rough reception from fans gathered at Santander
Airport...
It's all a bit 'Meh' in this humble scribe's opinion, but Ronaldo's gesture seems to have caused
a wee bit of a stir in Spanish media circles, with a couple of outlets admonishing such a heinous
act of aloof petulance while pro-Real spout MARCA are unsurprisingly claiming that the Portuguese
greaser was in fact just flipping Pepe the bird an explanation that seems entirely plausible to
me.
