My my, The Figos look absolutely perfeito in that photo snapped in
Paris last week! In many ways, it's good that the Portuguese midfielder decided to retire from
football completely... He could teach dear Guti below a thing or two about wearing proper

Newcastle United are interested in Portuguese under-21 forward Ukra. Well, maybe. It comes from the
Daily Mail, which is to newspapers what 'Snakes on a Plane' is to film history, and it doesn't
quote anybody saying they're after anyone, so take a large pinch of salt with your porridge this
morning on this one.

2 days. That's the time Fergie took to seal the fate of Nani. Recently, Nani had a stupid public
outburst against Sir Alex Ferguson and it is rumoured that the Portuguese may be on his way to
Italy. The Portuguese winger did not mince his words in an interview with a newspaper and that has
probably left Ferguson furious.

Portugal have defeated Bosnia at the Estadio da Luz today 1-0 to take the first leg as the teams
now move to Bosnia for the second leg on Wednesday. Portugal was clearly the better team in this
game but was also the lucky team as Bosnia hit two crossbars and a post in this clash.Portugal
started the attack early when Raul Meireles shot wide a common shot for the Portuguese on this

With Roman Pavlyuchenko today insisting he must leave Tottenham, it made me think back to
players of years gone by that have arrived with big reputations only to depart before making any
impact whatsoever.
Pavlyuchenko cost £14m just over a year ago, that's serious money in today's market for a
player that isn't English.

developing at the top of the Table for the Premier Division.

Gabriel Obertan impressed for much of his début against Barnsley before looking tired in the
final fifteen minutes or so. He kept the ball really well, ran at the opposition with speed and
showed off his silky skills. He looks to be the real deal, regardless of what Larry White
thinks.
He's only had one game so there's no point getting ahead of ourselves, but some sections of the
press have already questioned what impact Obertan's arrival and début might have on Nani.

With the Ballon d'Or nominations finally releasing this weekend, the headlines have mostly been
devoted to the fact that world champions Italy have no representation whatsoever. But why blame the
press for paying excessive attention to an irrelevant detail? After all, the award itself is
destined to be heading Lionel Messi's way, which means very little is there to be talked about in
terms of debating the winner, right?

Another away match, another defeat. Overall, in losing to a good Aston Villa side, Chelsea
didn't actually put in a bad performance. But errors both in defence and attack, and a worrying
lack of leadership from Ancelotti, were enough to get me concerned.
Even in deserved defeat, there were some positives.
