The best player for Newcastle on Sunday afternoon against Aston Villa was Danny Guthrie. Danny
Guthrie proving he' s very good player for Newcastle Danny got 47% of the vote for Man of the
Match, followed by 17% for Tim Krul and 11% for debut boy and scorer of that wonder goal Papiss
Cisse - and then James Perch is on [.
In the poll we've been running since late November, Tim Krul is the most improved player at the
club this season, with over 3200 votes in. Tim Krul Newcastle's magnificent goalkeeper after Villa
win Tim is on 50% of the vote, with Ryan Taylor on 12% and his name-sake Steven on 11%. Here's the

Sky TV were quick to give the champagne to Scott Parker last night and while it's hard to argue
with that assessment, were there other, more worthy candidates at the heart of Spurs defence?
Speaking after the game, TV pundit Gary Neville pointed to a previous ‘soft centre' in the
Tottenham side which would have seen us lose a match like that in the past and that's why he agreed
with the Parker decision.
By quite a large margin, Danny Guthrie was our Man of the Match in our poll for yesterday's game.
Danny Guthrie - give this lad a new contract And it's not the first time that Danny Guthrie has
been outstanding for Newcastle this season, when he has deputized for Cheick Tiote, and if
Danny keep splaying like he did [.

Let us know who you think Newcastle's best player was against Aston Villa today.
Last month, I conducted a survey on this site asking if Liverpool fans would be happy if the club
signed Carlos Tevez, and over 63% of fans who took part in the poll voted yes. Liverpool legend
Steve Nicol was asked yesterday if he would like to see Tevez at Anfield, and he gave a completely
different answer.
Let us know who you think our best player was at Ewood Park tonight where Newcastle came away
2-0 winners.
Liverpool boss, Kenny Dalglish has come out and said that there will be no signings in or out of
Melwood this window.
After two great results against the Manchester clubs this week, it is easy to think that we have no
need to find a striker and a midfielder in the January window.
However, we are seventh in the League, behind unfancied Newcastle and six points behind Chelsea in
fourth place.
Let us know who you think Newcastle's best player was this afternoon at the Amex Stadium, when
Newcastle went down 1-0 in the 4th round of the FA Cup.

As we near the beginning of the second MLS campaign in Portland Timbers history, we find
ourselves saying goodbye to one of the most unintentionally polarizing players from our first
season in MLS: Kenny "F-ing" Cooper.
Please use this thread to share your memories, both positive and negative, of Coop's time in
Portland.
Benoît Pierre David Assou-Ekotto, or Mr Consistency to a growing number of Spurs fans always
scores well in our polls but did his performance last night finally secure our man of the match
award?
BAE's most telling influences on the game came in attack with the raking diagonal ball that set up
Aaron Lennon and the pile-driving second half strike that doubled his tally in a Spurs shirt.
Rumors are doing the rounds today both in papers and online that Liverpool are looking to
offload striker Andy Carroll, just one year after he was signed for a club record of £35million.
Personally I think this is just talk to feed the rumor mill.
Sure he hasn't lived up to his over inflated deadline day transfer just yet, but people need to
remember he is still only 23 and if it wasn't for a few great saves or the cross bar being a couple
of inches higher he would have an extra 3 or 4 goals this season and things wouldn't look all that
bad considering the minutes he has actually played.

Well it's that time of the year again when managers sit down and access his playing squad. With
injuries, suspensions and some players not living up to the reputations or price tags there should
be a few transfer dealings to help push Liverpool back into the top 4.
Remember all the action of 2011 January transfer window?

Let us know who you think Newcastle's best player was against Blackburn this afternoon in
Newcastle's 2-1 win?
One of the most pleasing moments to see in our game is a goal being scored from a dead
ball situation, or primarily, a free kick. Over the course of history there have been numerous
occasions where a player will simply make your jaw drop in striking a perfect shot past a flailing
goalkeeper's hands from 20-35 yards out.

Let us know who you think was Newcastle's best player at Liverpool tonight.
We are only days from the opening of the January transfer window. The rumor mill has already
been spinning out of control over the past few weeks but, of course, as the new year approaches the
links with a Chelsea clearly in need of something special will reach new levels of absurdity.
So, with that being said, why not take the absurdity to new heights ourselves?
Arsenal are set to offer club legend Thierry Henry a two-month loan deal but is coach Arsene Wenger

Are there any other contenders for this accolade besides the amazing Gareth Bale? After the
Welshman's two goals inspired Tottenham's win, manager Harry Redknapp was typically effusive in his
praise.
"I played him in a free role," Harry said. Him and Rafa, rather than on the left. He pops up in
positions in-between the midfield and defence, it's difficult to pick him up and once he turns and
runs, like he did for the second goal, he's unstoppable.

One of the more interesting rumors of the holiday season in Europe surrounds Thierry Henry's
potential return to Arsenal on a short-term loan in January. Nobody at Arsenal is publicly
admitting it is in the works (Arsene Wenger said he has yet decide whether to pursue it), and there
is no guarantee that the New York Red Bulls would be willing to let their star player go on a loan,
but the idea remains an intriguing one.
