By Dominika Gawron, Polish Futbolita Last Friday, my country witnessed the most important match in
its history Poland vs Greece. It was only the beginning and I don't even want to know how it will
end. The Polish roller-coaster ride has been crazy, fast....and sometimes beautiful all at the same
time!
Match between 8-year-olds in Poland abandoned due to crowd trouble.
Remember when you were eight years old kicking around without a clue about tactics or even how
to play in different positions? Remember when 500 supporters showed up with flares and streamers
showed up to ... ahem.

The current transfer window in Poland is far more interesting that I expected. First of all, the
'eternal' talent of Polish football, Paweł Brożek, finally left Poland (together with his brother
Piotr) to play for the Turkish league leaders Trabzonspor. Even earlier Sławomir Peszko decided to
capitalize on his impressive Europa League performances and moved to his dreamt of Bundesliga.
We're not avid followers of the Polish Ekstraklasa here on Pies, but we've seen this following comedy of errors described as 'Polish football in a nutshell'. If it's all this hilariously woeful then we may need to up our interest tenfold.

The bar for European Championships theme songs was set extraordinarily low with Shaggy's Euro
2008 anthem 'Like a Superstar', which is good news for Poland and their Euro 2012 ditty 'Koko Euro
Spoko'.
The Poles were given the right to choose their Euro 2012 song on an X Factor-style TV show on

On Saturday night, FC Koln's Slawomir Peszko and Anderlecht's Marcin Wasilewski partied the
night away in Cologne, Germany. After last call, they got into a witty, drunken exchange with a
taxi driver that ended with the pair being dropped off at the police station.
We continue our look at Polish football with Part Two of Catching Up With Polish Football. Last

This week we look at the bottom half of the table to see who's fighting to avoid the drop.
I think it's called loyalty...or insanity Every now and then a video comes along that makes me
chuckle under my breath for hours, whereas other people watching it merely sort of raise an eyebrow
and half a smile. This may be one of those. When Tottenham Hotspur Under 12s travelled to face Lech
Poznan Under [.
Polonia Warsaw's owner Józef Wojciechowski makes sure that the Polish football is interesting.
After multiple transfers and announcements that he's going to fight for the championship title next
season, he decided to sell his top player Adrian Mierzejewski to Trabzonspor. JW probably wouldn't
do that if it wasn't for the record transfer fee offered by the Turkish club (5,3M).
