But sometimes guys just have to party. As these three did. With some journos at a hotel. Click to continue reading...

Ukraine-Poland 1:0. The Only Way Is...Down?

3

Poland lost to Ukraine 0:1 after a very poor display. We tried new, 5-2-3 tactics today, but without much positive effect. No new players proved better that the old ones and the old ones repeated their Euro performance. Fortunately, it was only a friendly where players' main aim was not to get hurt.

Respect the Refs, Damnit.

2
This one's for you, Ashley Cole. And Poland. Refs who aren't on the payroll of Italian teams have a rough job, as it's not one most people brimming with sanity would take. When they're perfect, it's nothing more than the basic expectation. When they're wrong, it's armageddon. So damnit, the English FA wants them the [. Click to continue reading...

New qualifiers and a new team? Not exactly, but there are some changes in Poland's squad after Euro 2008. The most noticable is the absence of our captain Maciej Zurawski. Jacek Krzynowek, on the other hand, remains a member of the team.

UEFA Euro 2012: One Month to Shape Up

This is not a stellar time for the upcoming hosts of international soccer tournaments. While much of the focus has been on South Africa's struggles to put together a credible World Cup in 2010, major concerns have developed over Ukraine and Poland's ability to host Euro 2012. With Euro 2008 complete, the focus turns to the future hosts, who clearly have a ways to go. Click to continue reading...

Our U-19 Team Is From Abroad.

1

One interesting thing I observed when checking last call ups to the U-19 squad. It turns out that 9 out of 13 players play abroad. The squad, of course, will be later supplemented with guys from Poland, but nevertheless the number of 'stranieri' is quite impressive.

Poland To Organize Euro 2012 Alone?

3

After reports during Euro 2008 that Poland and Ukraine may lose Euro 2012 Michel Platini's visits to both countries were treated as enormously important by organizers. Platini didn't say much while in Poland, which can be read as a good sign, whereas he criticised Ukraine severely when meeting local officials.

So here we are, then: Day 19 of 19 at Euro 2008. The day of the Final, the day this whole tournament has been leading towards. This is the day where Euro 2008 comes to an end by crowning its new champion.

Setanta says we're one of a number of clubs looking at Poland midfielder Mariusz Lewandowski. This is he: Also, someone on TiFF says that they have solid information that we've signed Steve Finnan.  So that's nice, if true.  The archetypal understated fullback.  We shall see though.   Pre-season starts next week I think, so I guess we'll see [.
