OADBY TOWN 2-1 AMPTHILL TOWNSaturday 21st January 2012FA Vase 4th RoundGreene King ParkAfter what feels like a long time since I saw Oadby in action this is to be the first of two
consecutive Saturday home games for the Poachers. The last time I was down here for a games was on
December 3rd when they hosted Tipton Town in the last round of this competition.
16 year old Romarinho, the son of one of the most prolific goalscorers in history, Romario,
scores a vital winning goal for Vasco's youth team in their opener against Sao Francisco.
Romarinho begins his career at Vasco, like his father, before he moved onto PSV and thereafter
Barcelona cementing his place as one of the world's most feared poachers.

King Park
Following four consecutive Saturday's watching other clubs in the East Midlands I am back at GKP
for the second in a run of four Saturday home games for the Poachers. After last weeks tough
victory against local rival St.
Manchester United were in action at the Liberty Stadium yesterday and for the third league game on
the spin it finished up one-nil to the champions. Javier Hernandez grabbed another poachers goal
just ten minutes into the game with help from Ryan Giggs and a howler of a mistake by Angel Rangel,
who gifted United's midfield veteran possession on the edge of the Swansea penalty area.
Sadly, this isn't makeup it's Klaas' broken nose. Tragically, it happened on November 3rd, days
late for Halloween and the most frightening natural makeup this side of Tevez's goal
celebrations.
Of course he also has a custom mask which looks to be made of leather with a snoutish nose and
is emblazoned with Hunter across the forehead, making this easily the best accidental
after-the-fact Halloween ensemble in the history of goal poachers for the Dutch national team who
also once played for De Graafschap.

Kerith Gabriel reports that Carlos Ruiz is headed to Mexican second division side Veracruz,
after all. The reason appears to be the simplest one of all: money. A source tells Gabriel that
Ruiz stands to make "upwards of $400,000-plus" in the move to Mexico. What remains unknown—and as
far as I'm concerned, this is the only thing that truly matters with this news—is what the Union
will gain in return.
Let me take you back to 14th April 1991 and the first ever FA Cup semi-final played at the old
Wembley Stadium. I had just turned 14 and was very nervous sitting in the crowd of 77,893 waiting,
in my shirt, scarf and hat, for my beloved team to take the field against an Arsenal team that were
on course to win the league (which they indeed did) and it was up to us to try and stop them
winning the possible double.

The summer transfer window has for Spurs so far been equivalent to a disconcertingly long and
awkwardly silent pause; occasionally, this peace has been punctuated with occasional panics
regarding potential sales of key players, with the most recent being the feted Chelsea move for
Luka Modric.
For the right to advance to the Finals, the US will have to avenge a group stage defeat to Panama.
In the first meeting in Tampa, the Red Tide came quickly out of the gates, catching the Yanks by
surprise and taking a 2-nil first half lead. The Yanks responded after the break with a 68th minute
header from Clarence Goodson, but Panama held on for the 2-1 upset.
In all the fuss over who's leaving The Lane, one increasingly likely transfer seems to have
slipped off the radar a little.
Perhaps no one can quite believe that after what seems like an eternity, but we might be buying a
striker. Maybe I should have told you to take a seat.
The best expansion team in the history of the league on the pitch, and the best off the pitch.
The Chicago Fire and Seattle Sounders will always be linked through that. Well, that and the fact
that Portland fans came up in support of Chicago in 2009.
Weather for this Saturday day game seems good for the time of year, and it should be a great
time for Seattle to put up goals and declare the early season string of unluck done and gone.
United are through to the quarter finals of the Champions League after knocking out Marseille at
Old Trafford on Tuesday night. It finished up 2-1 - for the most part, it was a nervy affair - but
it was always likely to be like that following the goalless first leg. Javier Hernandez grabbed the
headlines after scoring a real goal poachers brace - the young Mexican striker continues to give
