When was the last time FIBA had anything to do with NBA matters? Practically never.
The NBA does everything it wants with no input from FIBA publicly until now, apparently. FIBA, the
International Basketball Federation has determined that Kenyon Martin is a free agent, owing
nothing to any team from China.
Unusual court case got underway in London today that could have ramifications on the Premier
League title race as well as the England managerial position.
The government is claiming that Spurs manager Harry Redknapp and former Portsmouth boss Milan
Mandaric used offshore accounts to avoid having to pay income tax on more than £189,000 that he
received from the sale of two players.
Follow the yellow brick road, and there might be a powerful wizard at the end able to grant you
whatever your heart desires. Or, as so often we find, after having stumbled through the many
potholes on that road you come to the end of it only to be met by an eccentric myth of a person
capable only of offering up false promises and trinkets.
Bologna coach Pierpaolo Bisoli has quashed claims that Gaston Ramirez is already in talks over a
move to Liverpool, insisting the midfielder will look at his options in January.
Ramirez is yet another Uruguayan on Kenny Dalglish's hitlist for the next transfer period, with the
20-year-old starring for both club and country alongside Luis Suarez.
Just like walking in your grandparents making out, this one is going to get real ugly real fast.As
some of you may remember, Switzerland's FC Sion had illegally lured Egyptian keeper Essam El-Hadary
away from Al-Ahly in 2008 while still under contract and had been subsequently punished. Part of
that punishment is no player transfers may play for the club in competition.
For many Arsenal fans, Saturday brings a mixture of optimism and caution. Following the defeat
at Old Trafford, the future direction of the club has been questioned and debated in the press and
in the pubs alike. The collective voice suggests that Arsenal can no longer compete at the top
level for player transfers and wages.
With this week's focus properly set to the non-league game, it seems appropriate to also delve
into Scottish non-league football. Perhaps unfairly at times, the Scottish game generates
comparisons in several footballing matters to that of the game conducted in England. It must be
said, though, that often those comparisons originate from the nation's own prominent football
authorities, with success or failure being approximated in English measurements.
For all the talk of which player will be going where as the transfer window creaks to a close,
there can be little question that, for all the attention lavished upon player transfers, it is the
appointment of a new manager that can truly be the existence-changing moment in the entire history
of a football club.

As Queens Park Rangers look destined to enjoy the glory of Premier League
football next season a serious case of rule breaking, dodgy dealing and high profile characters
rumbles on in the background that threatens to rain on the Super Hoops' parade.

Player transfers were one of many things Liverpool managed poorly last summer, as Christian

So, people, turns out you can stop burning those Torres shirts in the street, as Chelsea coming
in with a bid Liverpool could never accept with four days left in the January market even if Roman
Abramovich had added a one to the front of it meant and means Torres isn't leaving in the January
market, full stop.
He's off to terrorise turntables
from Munich to Berlin.
After the summer entertainment that was Ryan Babel hopping in a helicopter and buzzing off to
all four corners of the British Isles in an attempt to find a new home only for nothing to happen,
a transfer deal for the enigmatic attacker has finally been done, as he'll be heading off to the
Bundesliga to join TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
This is the second in a series looking in detail at Manchester United's finance. In December I
wrote about the various sources of revenue the club has. This post looks at operating costs.
Revenue minus operating costs equals the famous "EBITDA" (earnings before interest, tax
depreciation and amortisation).
Today's Guest Post comes from a new Arsenal fan site called ArseneWenger.com. Being specialists in
Wenger's thoughts hopefully they will be able to help us all interpret the great mans psychological
musings in the future..... Wenger's New Player Options for Arsenal's 2010-2011 Defence January is
usually the time when Premier League teams conduct player transfers.
