PICTURE: Berbatov Wearing United’s Number 9

The official Manchester United site has already added a player profile for our new signing. It has been announced that he will be wearing our number 9 shirt, which was vacated by Louis Saha who left for Everton. "PICTURE: Berbatov Wearing United's Number 9" was originally published at The Republik of Mancunia. Click to continue reading...

Frankie Hejduk, Chemist. Adam Moffat, Charmer.

Membership in the Crew Soccer Nation has its privileges. As a season ticket holder I was invited to a Chalk Talk with Sigi, Mark McCullers, and Brian Bliss before the FC Dallas game. Sigi took questions from a group of around 50 fans. There were a few questions about Pat Noonan and some talk about [. Click to continue reading...

Philipp Lahm + Marko Marin = A Slap in Jogi Löw's Face

2
OK, this is admittedly a bit of sour grapes over some poor Euro 2008 decisions by Löw - where poor, for example, could equal David Odonkor. I mean, everything had been in place. I had written a Marin player profile, dug up a highlight video on YouTube to win over Click to continue reading...

Pat Noonan signed by Columbus

2
MLS announced today that Pat Noonan was signed to New England and traded to Columbus.  From MLSNet.com:   "At this point he's probably more inclined to play wide midfield for us while Robbie and Ekpo are gone," [Sigi] said. "He can play Alejandro's position in a pinch. He can play Guillermo's position and he can certainly play both [. Click to continue reading...

RailHawks find little big man in Nunez (News & Observer)

0
An oddly timed piece in today's News & Observer: A player profile on Martin Nuñez.
With the RailHawks in the midst of a 4 match scoreless streak, picking up only 1 point on a critical West Coast roadtrip, plummeting down the table to next to last place on points earned per game, and our chances of making the playoffs falling for 9 straight weeks, it seems there might be something a little more topical to write about. Interview with Robbie Rogers and Other News

Hey All, Don't get too excited. This is just a goofy interview that I found. It is pretty entertaining, but it reminds me of a MySpace or Facebook quiz. The interview Also, it looks like over the weekend, Eddie Gaven gave the U-23 men's national team the game winner over Honduras. The goal [...] Click to continue reading...

Robin Van Persie Arsenals Rising Star

2
Arsenal's Number 11, the 24 year old Robin Van Persie is a rising star these days. He has made an impact on the game like many other youngsters. He is easily in the same category as Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez and Robinho. On August 6, 1983 he was born to Bob and Jose Ras, sculptor [...] Click to continue reading...

Rumor: Figo Revs DP?

10

Soccer by Ives and MLS Rumors are reporting that the Kraft family is going to shell-out the cash to buy Portuguese legend Luis Figo. The 127-times capped right winger won the Euro player of the world in 2000, and the World Player of the Year in 2001. He beat out ...

NEWS: Dorman moving on?

20

According to this article at MLSNet.com, Revolution Midfielder Andy Dorman will not be signing for more time with the Revs. Though there is no mention of a specific timeline in the article and also no reciprocal mention of the news at the Revolution's website, a lot of us felt this was going to happen sooner rather than later.

Noonan and Nicol: from the same cloth?

Steve Nicol: 100 Players who Shook the Kop

Pat Noonan's Goal against Houston

The first goal from Nicol in the top link looks almost exactly like Noonan's goal from the Houston game this Sunday. More than anything, this gives me fuel for further support for Noonan in the face of what it seems at times is waning support from the majority of fans.

John not on T&T plus New tryout for Revs

1

Boston.com notes on Revs

The link above points to an article about Avery John filling in for Michael Parkhurst for the next two weeks or so not being able to play in the CONCACAF Gold Cup this year. Apparently, he and some team mates have been blacklisted from the Trinidad & Tobago team for expecting to be paid what they feel they're owed for the World Cup 2006 performance.
