Coming at the end of a long season, which Manchester United had to struggle to deal with countless
injuries, City's increasing financial assets, a disappointing early exit from the Champions League,
and the final heartbreak of City taking the League title with 2 goals in stoppage time, there was
one player who had no negative [.
The month of September saw promising signs from the Blues and some excellent individual
performances from certain players. Here's your chance to have a say in our poll and listen to me
babble about my choice for September's star player.
April is considered by many to be the craziest month of the year  as the weather is unstable and
subject to swift and sudden changes. Unfortunately for Manchester United, this year madness
characterized April not just in meteorological terms, but also in footballing ones as the Reds
opened up a seemingly unbridgeable eight-point lead before [.

March proved a productive month for United; but only in the Premier League. On the European stage
they were arguably made to look like boys against men after suffering back-to-back defeats both at
home and away to Athletic Bilbao in the Europa League. Domestically, where the (now more than ever)
more important matter of winning [.
According to many managers and players, February is one the crucial parts of the season as, while
not part of the run-in, it can nevertheless shape the last few months of the campaign. Manchester
United came through some difficult tests last month and, should the title go back to Old Trafford,
the points earned in [.
As we enter March we take another step closer to 'squeaky bum time'. This February threw up tricky
looking fixtures in the Premier League with trips to Stamford Bridge to face a 'transitional'
Chelsea, and to Carrow Road to take on the relatively high-flying Norwich City. Sandwiched between
those league games United welcomed hosted Liverpool [.
I'm not sure if I'm in possession of a broom strong or wide enough but I'm
going to try and sweep the tawdry efforts in the North West this weekend under the carpet. After
the heroics of our encounter with Europe's finest four days beforehand, it was an outright slag of
a showing.
Another month of Premier League action is behind us, and the Premiership has announced the
winners of the Manager of the Month and Player of the Month awards. Everton manager David Moyes
took home the managerial award while influential Spurs midfielder Rafael van der Vaart capped off
an excellent month by picking up the Player of the Month honor.
I am a little late to this, got distracted at the end of the month and forgot to post my player of
the month for August. In August KC went 3-2, scoring 9 while allowing 6 goals in the 5 games, all
held at LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. The leading scorer in the month was Kei Kamara, who scored 3
goals in the month.
The first month and a half or so of the season is over for KC and it's time to look at who should
be the player of the month for the March/April time frame.
During the stretch, KC went 1-4-1, the one win coming on opening day against Chivas USA. A draw in
Vancouver was KC's only other point so far this season.
A little over the first month of the season has taken place at this point, and it's time for the
first player of the month award. The Wizards went 2-2-1 in all competitions in March and April,
beating DC and Colorado, while drawing with LA, and losing to Colorado and Seattle. Unlike a few
months last year, there are plenty of players to choose from this month on both sides of the ball.
With tomorrow being the first game on August, it's time to take a look at the July player of the
month. The Wizards went 2-0-4 in league play in the month of July. There was also the disappointing
2-0 loss to Richmond in the US Open Cup, as well as the 0-0 draw with Newcastle. KC scored 10 goals
in July while allowing 7 in league play.
The Wizards season is over, but before I hand out my year end awards, I have to first hand out my
final player of the month award for this season for the month of October. In October the Wizards
went 2-3, scoring 7 goals and conceding 5 times. Here are some of the stats for this month:
For me, stat wise, no one really stands out, yes Diop's hattrick against San Jose was nice, but
other than that he didn't really do anything in the month.
September was a pretty good month for the Wizards as they worked to make their way back into the
playoff race. The Wizards went 2-1-1 in the month of September scoring 8 goals while conceding 7.
KC had 5 different goal scorers in the month, here are some more of the stats from this month.
The month of August is nearly over and that means it's time for another player of the month award
to be handed out. The Wizards went 2-1-1 in the month of August, continuing their good run of form
that they started in July. Wins over New England and LA also helped the Wizards start to pull
themselves out of the goalscoring slump they've been in basically all season.
Unlike in July there's actually some good to talk about the Wizards when it comes to the Down the
Byline player of the month award. The Wizards went 2-2-1 in the month of July in league play along
with a 2-1 win over Manchester United in a friendly at Arrowhead. The leading scorer for the month
was Teal Bunbury who had 2 goals, both game winners for the Wizards.
June ended yesterday so it's time to award this month's player of the month award. The month of
June was cut short in MLS play due to the World Cup break that the league took, but the Wizards
still managed to get in 3 games in the month. The Wizards went 1-1-1 in June, drawing in Toronto,
winning at home against the Philadelphia Union and closed the month with the loss to New York.
The month of May was not kind to the Wizards this year, and with it over, it's time to look at who
is going to be named the Down the Byline Player of the Month for May. As I mentioned, the month of
May was not kind to KC, the Wizards went 0-4-1 in the month of May, scoring 4 goals while giving up
12 in those 5 games.
A banner month for Sporting KC as they went 3-0-3 in league player, with another win in the US Open
Cup. All three draws for KC were 0-0 results, with a win in Dallas and three home wins vs San Jose,
Vancouver, and Chicago PDL. When it comes to the player of the month for June, you could make
arguments for a few players, including Aurelien Collin, Matt Besler, CJ Sapong, and Graham Zusi.
Another month of the season is in the books for Sporting KC. In the month of May, KC went 0-2-1 in
league play, and added a win against New England in the US Open Cup qualifier. KC scored 2 league
goals in the 3 games, with Ryan Smith and an Omar Gonzalez own goal accounting for those goals. CJ
Sapong and Chance Myers added a brace in the Open Cup game, with Aurelien Collin adding a goal as
well.
Forgive me for the lack of posting today, I'm just a tad caught up in some things. But I did want to post my vote for the MLS Player of the Month award for March out there.
Today, it was announced that LA Galaxy forward Mike Magee was named the league's first player of the month in the 2013 season.
It's been a long time since what happened, happened. It's taking time to come to terms with the
unspeakable truth, but slowly and gradually, day-by-day, it's becoming easier and easier to pretend
it never happened at all! I can, hand on heart, promise you that I haven't been able to read a
newspaper since May, [.
D.C. United announced today that midfielder/forward Dwayne De Rosario has been named MLS Player of
the Month for May by the North American Soccer Reporters.
So why are us United fans mourning the loss of our winger, Luis Antonio Valencia Mosquera, who
sustained his injury whilst creating the second decisive goal against Ajax? Our Ecuadorian winger,
(born on the 4th August 1985), has just ‘TERMINATED' the opposition in Januarys' Player On the
Month Award with Our Red Rants Readers, winning [.
The Danish striker Nicklas Bendtner has been used to taking the flak from Arsenal fans (including
me!), but he has retained his confidence and carried on trying to prove them wrong. Well it seems,
with his last gasp winners against Hull and Wolves, coupled with his first ever hat-trick for the
Gunners against Porto, that the [.
