First of all dear reader, I would like to apologise. I meant to have this posted yesterday evening.
However, due to a certain bearded Newcastle United shirt sponsor, his chronically unreliable
Broadband and constantly engaged customer service (who's existence I am beginning to doubt), that
sadly wasn't possible in the end.
Hatem Ben Arfa has been talking about some of the problems he's faced in his career and how things
are shaping up for him at Newcastle United. Hatem Ben Arfa spoke to the French press yesterday
about some of the problems that have plagued his life and footballing career to date and how
they're being [.
The "Henry comeback" Leeds defeat in the FA Cup at Arsenal is obviously the main point of this
weeks show.
But not to undermine our Championship players full credit and plaudits are also broadcast to them.
Especially to our young kids in defense! Manager and player interviews and fan at the game reports
about the Arsenal game and listener email comments too!
Glory Glory Leeds brings a mixed show this week despair at a hammering at Barnsley, more doubts
over the manager's future and a massive sigh of relief at the win against Burnley to start 2012! We
have loads of listener emails this week to read out (again thanks to all who take the time to send
them!
COMING IN 2012 (This isn't the complete list, chicos!)

Newcastle United centre-back Mike Williamson nears fitness and, whilst an alleged bid for a West
Ham defender fails, it seems that Modibo Maiga is actually heading to Tyneside. With our central
defence currently emptier than a Mackem's head, there's some welcome news that Mike Williamson
managed 45 minutes for the reserve team against Bolton yesterday [.
Comments from Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew appear to indicate that Danny Simpson is now at
the 'take or leave it' stage in contract negotiations. Further to my article a few days ago in
which I mentioned the contract situation with Danny Simpson, it seems the club is toughening its
stance a bit more if [.
Available now for the first time in Kindle format, Chelsea here Chelsea there, the critically
acclaimed, best selling Chelsea title from Gate 17 takes you back to a mystical magical world
before mobile phones were the tool of choice for arranging "meets" - before the M25 became a
match-day carpark - when winning trophies was just the stuff of True Blue dreams (curiously as it
has now become for Arsenal supporters) -
Where you one of the 1000's of Blues fans who crammed into the Highbury library back in August

Galaxy-Dynamo preview at SI.com
I haven't heard a thing over two days of post-training player interviews and press conferences
here in L.A. to change the way I originally thought this thing would go. I see a close game -- and
I'll write more about my prediction Sunday morning. For now, here's my preview at SI.
Yeah... we're just as surprised as you, but the Free Beer Movement will be at the 2011 Major League
Soccer Cup Final as credentialed media.
What that means is a whole lot of coverage from us throughout the days leading up to Sunday's final
from the Home Depot Center in Carson, California.
A remarkable recovery by Leeds after the Blackpool beating, saw our favourite club come back to
beat the bogey of Leicester! A happy and upbeat show this week with some great results from Leeds
Ladies and our U:18 team as well, adding to the mood! All the game reports, plus manager and player
interviews, listener emails and of course Twiggsters views only on CSRN!
Is the Africa Cup of Nations going to cause serious problems for Newcastle United, particularly in
relation to Demba Ba? The Africa Cup of Nations (ACoN) has its first group game on the 21st January
and the final is on 12th February, which means that players will be away from their respective
clubs for potentially [.
Newcastle United defender Steven Taylor talks about the excellent team spirit at the club,
including good relationships all the way up the hierarchy. I was alarmed to see a headline in The
Telegraph that said 'Newcastle have Europe in their sights'. Admittedly the author of the article
intimated that European football is more likely in [.
Newcastle United have a big test of their ability to bounce back from defeat with a tricky game
away at Stoke on Monday. I do actually manage to squeeze in some references to the game in an
article even more rambling than usual. The mid-week League Cup defeat was disappointing but without
a time machine* [.
Newcastle United lost 4-3 away at Blackburn last night in the Carling Cup, which probably ended the
club's best chance of lifting a trophy this season. I've never really been one for the League Cup,
seeing it mainly as the poor relation to the FA Cup, but when a place in the last 8 is [...]
Two totally different games are the main features of this weeks show a dominant destruction of
Doncaster last Friday and a clueless cock up against Coventry at home, last Tuesday. Hear the the
"fan at the game" match reports and the manager's thoughts on both games plus listeners email views
on the games and some player interviews as well!
Good news for Newcastle United as both Demba Ba and Hatem Ben Arfa look to be in contention to play
on Sunday. Some good news for Newcastle fans. The first bit of good news is that Demba Ba is
reportedly fit enough to play on Sunday. He picked up an injury during his last outing [...]
Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye fears he may have ligament damage to his ankle. Yohan
Cabaye is worried that he picked up a bad ankle injury whilst on international duty for France on
Friday. France were playing Albania and by all accounts Cabaye had put in a tidy first half
performance but he was substituted [.
Newcastle United goalkeeper Steve Harper says he's content to keep the bench warm for now and has
nothing but praise for Tim Krul. My esteemed colleague recently wrote an article about Steve Harper
asking whether he is content playing second fiddle to Tim Krul at Newcastle or whether he may
consider moving elsewhere.
Davide Santon looks to be fairly fit after playing the full 90 minutes of a reserve game against
Swansea and does Jonas's interview indicate that Colo is angling for a longer contract? Davide
Santon completed the full 90 minutes of our reserve game against Swansea last night, which we won
5-3. Santon only had his [.
Jonas signs a new contract with Newcastle United, much to Alan Pardew's relief. It seems that Jonas
Gutierrez has managed to see eye to eye with the club in a way that Barton and Nolan couldn't
because the club has signed him up for another four years. He's previously expressed an interest in
playing in [.
Demba Ba talks about his hat-trick for Newcastle United and how a happy squad is one of the keys to
good performances on the pitch. Shortly after yesterday's 3-1 win over Blackburn the BBC
interviewed Demba Ba and this is what he had to say: Interviewer: Demba, your first goals for
Newcastle and your first [.

Is there a case for giving Dan Gosling a run in the Newcastle United midfield instead of Cheick
Tiote who, this writer argues, isn't having the best run of form? In a recent interview, Cheick
Toite has been saying he's been enjoying his new partnership with Yohan Cabaye in the centre of
midfield. Tiote said: [.
Newcastle United midfielder Danny Guthrie hopes for a start on Monday while Joey Barton has nothing
but good things to say about Toon fans. Danny Guthrie apparently had a good run in the reserves'
4-3 defeat to the mackems this week and hopes he might be in Alan Pardew's plans for Monday.
Guthrie said: "The [.
Newcastle United midfielder Yohan Cabaye muses on the English game and is looking forward to
playing against Joey Barton in our next league game. Things seem a bit flat of late. By which I
don't mean that they've been run over by a passing steamroller, but rather since the transfer
window closed and without [.
STARTERSAfter we got the rumor yesterday that the USA would take on Ecuador on Tue Oct 11 in New England in
an exhibition, we get official confirmation today of a different friendly game:
-
USA v Honduras - Sat Oct 8 at Sun Life Stadium in Miami FL at 5pm CT on FOX Soccer and
Univision
-There are 2 more international dates in November that will more than likely be filled.
After all the fuss and bother of the past few days, the now ex Newcastle United midfielder, Joey
Barton, has finally mulled things over, and signed a deal for West London club, Queen's Park
Rangers. There seems to be some confusion as to whether Barton has signed for three or four years
at his new [.
Venue: Glanford Park, Scunthorpe. Date: Thursday, 25 August. Kick-off: 7:45PM. Referee: Graham
Salisbury. Scunthorpe united await the Magpies this Thursday night as the two sides meet at
Glanford Park in the League Cup second round. The match is scheduled for live broadcasting via Sky
Sports 1, kick-off is at 7.
News has come into the offices of NUFC Blog Interntional that an Argentian International full back
is currently on Tyneside and is ready to play for the Magpies! His name is Jonas Gutierrez, he is
currently 28, and is known for his daring and mazy runs down both flanks. Gutierrez is not entirely
unkinwn to [.
A red card fiasco against the Smoggies and a crushing of Hull are the main topics this week.
Match reports from both games as usual, along with manager and player interviews. Carling Cup news
and a new signing also feature as well as some interesting listener emails and an interview with
Ben Kates about "sexy football" and of course everything you need to know about Leeds United.
Not the best start to the season, losing our opening game but a Carling Cup victory takes away some
of the disappointment. Lots of listener emails this week, as well as manager and player
interviews, game reviews and everything you need to know about Leeds United.
The new season is upon us! A great final pre season win has fired us up ahead of the first
Championship game at Southampton this Saturday! A last minute new signing to talk about this week,
plus some great listeners' emails and the first tweets to the show! Along with match reviews,
manager and player interviews and of course Twiggster's views.
Newcastle United new boy Yohan Cabaye talks about his first impressions of the club, how hard it
was to leave Lille and life in England in general. This interview appeared on Lille FC's site and
all I've done is to transcribe it and do my best to correct some dodgy Franglaise returned by
Google Translate.
Match highlights, with goals from Shola Ameobi (9mins), Fabricio Coloccini (53 mins) and great goal
from substitute, Haris Vuckic in stoppage time. The sending off of the Columbus Crew goalkeeper
didn't help the cause of the home side. As usual, Cheick Tiote also picked up a yellow card for a
wreckless challenge.
In the second of their three-leg American pre-season tour, Newcastle United face Orlando City
tonight. Our pre-season tour of the States continues with a game against Orlando City Soccer today.
With much of America gripped in a heatwave and Florida's pretty hot and humid in normal
circumstances anyway the game will be another [.
Three games into preseason and Leeds are undefeated! Post game reviews along with manager and
player interviews feature this week. Exciting news about three new trialists, but also some
devastating injury news that Twiggster has a serious rant about. And Leeds have banned their
players from posting on Twitter!
Newcastle United striker Leon Best shows a good attitude towards fighting for his place in the
squad and this humble author feels he deserves another season at the club. Leon Best's career has
been a mixed affair in terms of his goals to games ratios. Between 2004 and 2007 up until he was 20

The new Newcastle United captain receives interest from Spain about a possible transfer. According
to the Spanish press, Seville are interested in trying to take Fabricio Coloccini from Newcastle
but please see my footnote regarding this story. Seville face a few problems in this respect, the
first being that Newcastle don't seem to want to [.
Newcastle United midfielder Cheik Tiote says he has committed himself to the club and has a
positive attitude towards the coming pre-season games. I can only presume all the gloom with Toon
supporters is due to my unplanned absence from article writing of late (more of which later). Or
possibly not. Anyway, there is some [.
