Milwaukee Becomes Center of the Soccer Blog Universe

2
Milwaukee, Wisconsin has long been known as the home of the Cunninghams and Arthur Fonzarelli, the home of Harley-Davidson motorcycles and the beer capital of the world.

Tomorrow, albeit temporarily, Milwaukee adds another title: Soccer Blogging Capital of America. By sheer coincidence, at least six of America's soccer bloggers will converge on the Cream City. Click to continue reading...

Strong Opinion Piece Advocating QPR Protests

2
-
Ben Kosky/Kilburn Times - Stand up if you love Rangers
IT'S still unclear whether we can expect some form of organised demonstration of discontent from QPR fans at Saturday's game against Derby.
But if there isn't any, that says more about the way the club has changed than any number of fireworks displays, supermodels, or classy cuisine in the executive boxes ever could.

Rumours of Our Demise Have Been Exaggerated

Pitch Invasion still exists, despite the recent lack of updates. A myriad of events, including moving homes, being out of town and having no internet access at home has meant I've fallen way behind on updating and responding to email. I'll start working through the backlog shortly. Normal service will be resumed in the coming days, [. Click to continue reading...

What? You thought I forgot there was a little three decade-long grudge match tonight? Blogger please. I will not rest until I get a call from FSC's Mitch Peacock himself saying "you can stop now, we really don't have the bandwidth for an audience this size." And We're Back

6
MLS Underground is back, and under new management. This is Tom from a blog called Pitch Invasion, and we've been asked by the previous, much missed management to keep this ball rolling. We've decided to do this as the ethos of this blog matches our view on how fans need to approach soccer. During the 90 minutes of play, there's no friendship, just pure rivalry. With the regular editorial having made way a little while ago for my regular Pitch Invasion column, I've decided to put the page on HEGS to a slightly different use from now on. Soccer Blogs Beat Mainstream Media To News Stories

3
In the world of technology, the top sites aren't magazines or newspapers. They're blogs. Web sites such as TechCrunch, Engadget and Boing Boing lead the way with the latest breaking news and analysis, as well as receiving more visitors than some of the giants in tech publishing. Do The Jets Line Backers Moonlight as Security Guards?

1
If you were watching last night's U.S. game at home you may not know that there was a half-time pitch invasion by some Argentine fan. I don't think it's the best thing to do, but I would be a liar if I said I didn't find it more entertaining than I like to let on. It's sort of like going to Hooters but without the 'hooters'. VIDEO: Pitch Invader at LA Galaxy Match Seeks Out Beckham

8
If you watched last night's match between the LA Galaxy and Colorado Rapids you may have noticed the match was halted in the 83rd minute.

In what seems to be becoming a trend, yet another match was halted for a pitch invader. This time in LA. In this case he went onto the pitch to high-five and hug Beckham before being taken down by the Galaxy's Chris Klein. Click to continue reading...

REPORT: Was Red Bull Pitch Invader A Former MLS Player?

1
If one watched the Saturday Match between Red Bull New York at home to Kansas City Wizards, one might have seen a man in a Red Bull jersey and jeans jump over a considerable wall and on to the pitch without spilling a drop of beer to celebrate with the players after Danleigh Borman's goal in the 80th minute (shown below beginning at 1:00):

MLSR has learned that it is possible this man was former Red Bull, Tim Regan shown at right below:

An alternative explanation is that the man was one Borman's college room mates. Click to continue reading...

Rangers and Celtic of Glasgow are renowned for their historic enmity; yet the most notorious football riot of the pre-World War One days in Britain saw the two sets of fans united in a pitch invasion at the 1909 Scottish Cup Final.
