Juventus inaugurated their new stadium with a visual smorgasbord. In one of the classiest
gestures in living memory, they invited Notts County who gifted the Old Lady their signature black
and white pinstripes in 1903 after responding to a sartorial emergency which would have doomed the
Turin club to wearing pink and being confused for Palermo.
The pinstripes from Linz travel to Salzburg on Friday with a chance to get back in the race for
first place in the Erste Liga.
I suppose I should fear Rich's wrath in posting this (this may be my last post; in which case
"Toodels!"), but I want play devil's advocate regarding the shorts.
Perhaps it's just how I was raised, in an American sporting landscape where sports teams are
treated no different than a McDonalds, but the changing of uniforms is quite common.

Werder Bremen has certainly had some interesting designs over the years, and this one is definitely
an improvement on last year's look. The poor quality image doesn't help with the first impression,
but it's definitely continuing to grow on me even as I continue to write.

Italian footballers! Oh, how we love to love. And yet? Much like the rude arse Yetis placed
outside our favourite nightclubs whose sole purpose in life is to push us away from guest list
queue towards the one full of peasants, footballers' fashion choices often act in a similar,
aggressive shoving manner to our senses.

Blackburn, in their relentless search for a 'marquee' signing, have reportedly been offered the
services of Boca Juniors stalwart (and light of legendary Gol TV commentator Ray Hudson's
life) Juan Roman Riquelme on the cheap.
Riquelme's agent Barry McIntosh (you can almost smell the pinstripes) told the Lancashire
Telegraph:
"I have spoken with (middle man) Jerome Anderson, who is doing a lot of work for Blackburn
Rovers, about a deal for Riquelme and it is being thought about.
