The French Daily l'Equipe is reporting today that Newcastle are lining up a move Aly Cissoko of
French club, Olympique Lyonnais, better known as Lyon. Aly Cissokho are Newcastle interested?
Newcastle were linked with Cissokho in the summer along with Dutch International left-back Erik
Pieters and since Pieters is not available in January, there could be some logic in Newcastle
turning their attention to Cissokho.
It would appear from various reports in the media that Newcastle United had hoped to resurrect the
deal to sign Erik Pieters from PSV Eindhoven during the January transfer window. However the Dutch
club are not willing to part with the Holland international according to quotes attributed to their
Sporting Director, Marcel Brand.
It's becoming clear that PSV have no plans at all to sell £6M rated Erik Pieters to Newcastle next
month, when the transfer window opens. Erik Pieters not for sale in January 23 year-old Pieters is
out injured at the moment with a foot injury, but he will return in February, and PSV Eindhoven
have told [.
News in the Daily Mail today that Newcastle will again go after Dutch International left back Erik
Pieters in January. Erik Pieters to arrive in January? The news is the Newcastle are hoping to seal
a £3M deal for the Dutchman in January, but we're not sure if this is just a made-up story
because [.
Last news... Sneijder took a knock during training. Bloody Van der Wiel!
Sneijder left practice and Van Marwijk mumbled: "We have lost a number of key players in Robben,
Afellay, Van Persie, Van der Vaart and Pieters so it would not be too good if we lose Sneijder
too.... We need [read more]
We have said a few times that we wouldn't be surprised if Erik Pieters arrives at Newcastle
in January. Erik Pieters Newcastle target in January Newcastle were apparently very close to
getting the PSV Dutch International left-back in the summer, and it's now clear that Newcastle
will further strengthen their squad in January, with the defense being one one area we expect
them to concentrate on.
It's becoming clear that Newcastle made some excellent buys in the summer. Erik Pieters could
strengthen Newcastle back four And it will take another closer look at the squad before January
rolls around, to see which players can be brought in to strengthen the squad. One area where
Newcastle looks very strong is in midfield, and players like Yohan Cabaye, Check Tiote, Jonas
[.
Ever since the transfer window closed there have been noises coming out of Newcastle that
Alan Pardew will be given a war chest of funds for January. Erik Pieters - wouldn't pay out the
money for this Dutchman But if that's the case, where was the war chest in the summer? It's
probably a PR move by the Newcastle Board to try to calm the Newcastle fans, [.
Newcastle United have smoothly concluded the signing of Inter Milan left-back Davide Santon on a
5-year deal.
The arrival of 20-year old Santon effectively ends the club's search of a replacement for
Spaniard Jose Enrique, who joined Liverpool earlier this summer.
Manager Alan Pardew had initially began negotiations with PSV Eindhoven over the services of
left-back Erik Pieters as Enrique's replacement but the lack of progress on that front prompted the
Magpies to pursue Santon instead.
Newcastle have been linked with five players today in the transfer market. Davide Santon due for a
medical at Newcastle The news yesterday was that Newcastle's advances for left-backs Erik Pieters
and Aly Cissokho looked dead in the water, because Newcastle would not pay, or even get close to,
the asking price for either player.
Erik Pieters' alleged move to Newcastle United appears to be dead in the water, interest in Aly
Cissokho is cooling, so Davide Santon seems the most likely to be our new left-back. It seems press
reports that Erik Pieters is 'close' to joining Newcastle are wide of the mark if the Dutch press
is anything [.
Newcastle's top two left back targets are Erik Pieters of PSV and Aly Cissokho of Olympic Lyonnais,
and both players are 23 years old and both have played for their countries, Holland and France
respectively. Aly Cissokho is he Newcastle's number one choice? But which one Newcastle will sign
before the transfer window closes [.
Newcastle United are still hunting for a new left-back with either Erik Pieters or Aly Cissokho
looking as if they're the most likely targets. There are confusing and contradictory reports flying
around about Erik Pieters and his potential transfer to Newcastle. Some of the British press seems
to be hinting that it's almost a 'done [.
There doesn't seem to be much new news this morning on the status of Erik Pieters. Erik Pieters in
Newcastle for a medical? The news yesterday was that finally Newcastle had agreed a fee with PSV
for their Dutch International left-back, and reports in Holland said that Erik was on his
way yesterday to Newcastle to have his medical.
Could it be that Newcastle United are indeed closing in on a 'double swoop' for a left-back and a
striker? And will Joey Barton leave or not? Rumours abound that we're close to finalising deals for
both Erik Pieters and Nolan Roux, although I think it's always worth waiting to see them at an SJP

There could be good news for Newcastle fans soon, yes that may come as a a big shock we know, but
it seems Newcastle have indeed made an improved offer for Erik Pieters. Erik Pieters - Newcastle
make improved offer The offer is still short of the asking price of around £6M, but the news is
the [..
Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has assured the club's fans that at least two more players are
poised to arrive at Tyneside over the next week as QPR-bound midfielder Joey Barton prepares to
follow Jose Enrique out of St. James' Park.
The Magpies also lost former skipper Kevin Nolan earlier in the summer and Barton's impending
departure means that Pardew desperately needs to bolster the squad despite his side's impressive
start to the season.
Newcastle fans may have to wait a few more days and even into next Wednesday, when the transfer
window closes, before any new players arrive on Tyneside. Erik Pieters - stalemate on the
transfer There seems to be a stalemate developed with Newcastle's move for Dutch International
Erik Pieters, with the Tyneside club unwilling to [.
The news today is that Newcastle are ready to increase their offer for PSV left-back Erik Pieters.
Erik Pieters increased bid for Dutchman That follows on from yesterday's news that Alan Pardew was
seen at the PSV game on Sunday sitting alongside Pieter's representative Hakim Slimani. The
Eindhoven side won that game 3-0 at [.
It looks like even though Newcastle beat Sunderland on Saturday, Mike Ashley will still not pay our
decent money for good players. Erik Pieters Ashley offering only £4M Newcastle got around £6M for
Jose Enrique from Liverpool 10 days ago, and Jose was on £45K/week at Newcastle so you would think
that Newcastle could [.
De Tekegraaf in the Netherlands have reported that Newcastle United will only pay a maximum
"ransom" of €5 million (around £4.3 million) for PSV Eindhoven and Netherlands left back, Erik
Pieters, which falls far short of the £6-7 million PSV are looking for. However they also state
that the reason is that moneybags Manchester City [.
Alan Pardew may have had a bit of a hangover on Sunday morning, but that didn't stop him from
flying to Holland to watch Newcastle target Erik Pieters in action at left-back for PSV Eindhoven.
Alan Pardew on Saturday And news today in the Evening Chronicle (Lee Ryder) that chief scout Graham
Carr, whom we [.
Newcastle United still appear to be pursuing Modiba Maiga, who missed out on his weekend league
game again, and Erik Pieters, who Alan Pardew allegedly went to watch on Sunday. It seems that
Newcastle think striking striker Modibo Maiga is still a plausible target despite his club Sochaux
insisting last week that he [.
It seems that Newcastle have identified Lyon left back Aly Cissokho, Dutch left-back Erik Pieters
and former England International Wayne Bridge, as priority targets to replace the departed Jose
Enrique. Aly Cissokho - Lyon left-back However, it would appear that Mike Ashley's well known
thriftiness is preventing any deals from being made.
Newcastle left-back target Erik Pieters will be on PSV Eindhoven's flight to Austria for their
Europa League clash with SV Ried tomorrow night. Erik Pieters - in PSV squad for tomorrow's game As
we reported earlier today it seems the £6M transfer fee is holding up the move for Pieters, and
Mike Ashley seems to [.
Newcastle United are allegedly considering a move to take Wayne Bridge on loan if they fail in
their attempts to sign Erik Pieters. This is one from the Daily Mail. They claim we'd consider
paying £80k/week to bring Wayne Bridge to Newcastle on a season long loan if we don't manage to
sign Erik Pieters.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Newcastle United may bring Wayne Bridge to Newcastle on loan, if
they cannot sign a top left back outright before September. Wayne Bridge to Newcastle on loan?
Newcastle are trying to sign Dutch International Erik Pieters, and if the news if to be believed he
will cost £6M [.
News today is that PSV Eindhoven want £6M for their Dutch International left-back Erik Pieters.
Erik Pieters - £6M and £30K/week not bad at all And the player's wage demands are said to be
around £30K/week, which is less that Jose Enrique's £45K/week he was getting on Tyneside for four
years, and of course [.
Reports in Paris today are suggesting Newcastle are set to move for Lyon defender Aly Cissokho. Aly
Cissokho capped last year by France Newcastle are in the hunt for a new left back to replace Jose
Enrique, after he finally left for Liverpool last Friday. And although Erik Pieters of PSV seems to
be [.
Newcastle United have allegedly increased their bid for Erik Pieters and still have Nicklas
Bendtner in their sights, and Derek Llambias confirms the need to add further players to the squad.
Good morning. The Toon headlines are still pretty much dominated by the Joey Barton/Gervinho
'Slappergate' incident, which is beginning to make my Earl Grey [.
Alan Pardew was interviewed in today's Sunday Sun, and he seems upbeat about the chances of having
one and maybe even two new players in, before the Sunderland game next Saturday. Erik Pieters
Newcastle left back against Sunderland? It seems that Newcastle are indeed close to tying up Erik
Pieters of PSV, and the [.
PSV's Erik Pieters has today talked about a potential move to Newcastle, but don't believe all the
headlines you read he has not dismissed the move at all. Erik Pieters - in mourning for his
grandmother Pieters is currently the Netherlands first-choice left-back, and has been identified by
Newcastle as the full back to [.
Erik Pieters is looking all the more likely to join Newcastle United after his recent comments but
the hunt for a new striker is looking a bit glum just now. It looks like PSV's Erik Pieters is one
step closer to becoming our new left-back as PSV boss Fred Rutten is almost conceding defeat in
[...]
We felt upbeat about things when Gabriel Obertan signed for Newcastle earlier this week, and felt
almost the opposite yesterday as Jose Enrique left for Liverpool. Erik Pieters bring him in quickly
But life goes on, and so does Newcastle, and hopefully Newcastle can now bring in Erik Pieters from
PSV quickly, and then [.

It seems that Newcastle are not going to be caught short-handed again, as they were when they sold
Andy Carroll to Liverpool on the last day of the January transfer window, and didn't have time to
bring in a replacement. Erik Pieters - would be great buy for Newcastle The news today is that
Newcastle [.
We're not sure the Newcastle club will be too pleased that their Dutch International goalkeeper Tim
Krul has told the Dutch press that Newcastle are interested in PSV left back Erik Pieters. Tim Krul
Pieters coming and Enrique going And while Erik Pieters was due to join the Dutch squad for their
game against [.
