Mexico's World Cup qualifying victory clearly shook the US Women's National Team to their core.
On Tuesday night, the US settled the score, reminding Mexico, and the world, that there is still an
enormous gap in class between the two sides. Were at not for some shoddy finishing and a whole lot
of five-alarm defending, the score line could easily have been doubled as the US controlled the
match from the opening whistle and were rarely troubled throughout the 90 minutes.

A report from The Bolton News on Friday quotes Wanderers' manager Owen Coyle on Sebastien Le
Toux, "I've had some decent reports on him. He's very industrious, hard working and looks a very
good team player, which is what I'm all about.
There are many cool things in the world, but I think it's safe to say that none are as cool as
this graph of the Philadelphia Union's pass attempts and accuracy that the Tumblr blog
Propagandarama put together from the stats PSP's Ed Farnsworth compiled. For those who like to

USWNT Coach Pia Sundhage has said she wants to coach the Swedish national team when her contract
with the U.S. expires in 2012. It would be a big loss for the U.S., but understandable as Sweden is
Sundhage's home.
Sundhage told Swedish news agency TT on Sunday she would gladly say "yes, thank you!

Peter Nowak says, "The playoffs are not about worrying who won their last 10 or 20 games, it's
going to be who wins this series.
So, we don't need to worry too much about how the Union played against New York, right?

Four days remain until the close of the transfer window...
The Union will host its first Supporters Summit on Wednesday, August 17 with Union CEO Nick
Sakiewicz, Peter Nowak, Faryd Mondragón and MLS Commissioner Don Garber answering questions. If,
as Sakiewicz said, "hearing from a wider audience than usual" is the reason for the summit, the
fact that only registered members of the Sons of Be will be allowed to attend is rather mystifying,
particularly if topics for discussion will include "the Union's style of play, the League schedule,
game-day experience, ticketing, stadium expansion, single table alignment and playoff
structure.
By Puck Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back into the Happy Hour. Hopefully, you have recovered from
the USWNT drinking game I put together for the World Cup Final; I know it did the trick for me. I
was dragging ass all day Monday for two reasons. First, I was hungover. The WWC Final was a [...]

By Puck Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back into the Happy Hour. What a week it has been for soccer
fans across the country. If you are one of the seven people left in the US not paying attention to
the Women's World Cup, there is still plenty of room left on the bandwagon; jump on [...]

This series will... ahem... explore the musical side of soccer and beer.
Today is an expected relevation that U.S. Women's National Team soccer coach Pia Sundhage often

Abby Wambach says the US is ready to face Japan.
The USA v France Women's World Cup semifinal was the fourth most watched USWNT match ever. An
average of 3.35 million people watched the match on ESPN, another 450,000 on ESPN3. Philly was not
one of the top-five markets for that or any of the games.
By Dr. Raf Crowley By now, we all know the situation – win, and this team escapes the shadows of
the '99 squad. Lose, and while this tournament will be deemed an "impressive" performance,
especially compared with two consecutive semifinal exits, disappointment will reign supreme. In
light of this, let's talk tactics from France and [.

Abby Wombach scored in the dying moments. It was almost as though a script was written to bring
women's soccer and the U.S. Women's National Team back into the limelight. If there was such a
script, then the team played out there roles perfectly.
It was in dramatic fashion that the United States took the lead in the second minute of the match,
only to find themselves down a player and two goals into the last minute of the second overtime.

By Neil W. Blackmon Let's just get the disclaimer right out of the way, shall we? What follows

Dance. The essence of movement. The embodiment of rhythm. A fine, practiced discipline designed
for entertainment and expression. Football, it's own form of dance. Two teams, two styles. Style
deeply rooted in culture, passion, and attitude. An attitude that defines the way in which we play

Emotional day today for USWNT, Amy LePeilbet, and myself. In sport there are always winners
and losers. Today, Sweden the winners and USA the losers. In life there is always death. Today
marks a death in the history of US Women's soccer.
The USA celebrated Independence Day (July 4th) weekend with a USWNT defeat over a young
Colombian side. This was the first ever meeting of the two nations in history of women's soccer.
An early 12′ goal, an upper-v beauty, by Heather O'Reilly set the tone for the match. The USA
entered the halftime break dominant but with only a one goal lead.
Pia Sundhage's at it again. Just a few days after starting Lauren Cheney over Megan Rapinoe,
she's mulling another move.
On Thursday morning she announced that she is considering swapping out either Shannon Boxx or
Carli Lloyd in favor of the Philadelphia Independence's Lori Lindsey at center mid against Colombia
in the USWNT's second group stage match (Saturday at 11:30am on ESPN).
Pressure is a privelege. That's the perspective of our Women's USA squad this World Cup. Ranked
#1 according to FIFA world rankings, the United States Women's National Soccer Team are the team at
the top. We are team to defeat. This, however, is a new era. An era that follows the staunch
legacy of 1999's Michelle Akers, Mia Hamm, and Brandy Chastain when the USA hosted and won the
World Cup claiming World Dominance in women's football.
As the Women's World Cup approaches, the goal is for everyone on the team to stay healthy.
Unfortunately for the WNT, a key player went down in last night's game against Japan:
CHICAGO (May 15, 2011) U.S. Women's National Soccer Team midfielder Lindsay Tarpley, a member of
the USA's Olympic gold medal winning team in 2004 and 2008 who was also a member of the USA's 2007
FIFA Women's World Cup Team, tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee with 15 minutes
remaining in the match against Japan on May 14 in Columbus, Ohio.
By Puck Ladies and Gentlemen, For those of you paying attention, and if you haven't you certainly
should be, the USWNT Roster was released earlier in the week. Before hitting you with my quick
thoughts, we should take a look at who made the squad. Forwards: Amy Rodriguez, Lauren Cheney, Alex
Morgan, Abby Wambach.
