Tomorrow, as I posted earlier today is the Supplemental Draft. KC will possibly add 5 more players that would be coming into preseason this year.

I'm about a week late on this (which has been a trend over the offseason, I promise I'll be better during the season), but FCD has released their preseason schedule, which includes training dates, as well as their annual trip to Florida for the Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic. Check out the schedule below and let me know if you're headed out to any of these events.

Good afternoon! Even more snow today, in RBNY Land, and the last batch hadn't even fully melted yet. But nevermind that, let's get to some news.

Theirry Henry recently had a training stint with London's Arsenal FC, as he wanted to get a head start on pre-season training. Now comes word that Rafa Marquez will also do the same by training with Mexican First Division club Atlas starting this coming Monday.

Some video of Monday's training. Physicals are done and the teamwork begins. I hope Edson Buddle's nerves settled down once he got some touches on the ball. Yesterday the poor guy looked like a deer in headlights that was trying not to look like a deer in headlights.

Training at Princeton...

The first day of pre-World Cup training is in the books. The guys did 75 minutes of work on the field, playing in some small-sided games and finishing up with fitness. Overall the mood was one of excitement. Guys were happy to get back onto the pitch with each other but also cognizant of the hard work that needs to be done between now and the game on May 25 (a week from tomorrow).

The boots are hung up, the exit physicals are done and the Colorado Rapids players get some much needed time off to rest up over the holidays before coming back into the rigors of preseason at the end of January. Some people who may not be resting quite as much include Gary Smith and Steve Guppy.

Looks as though the Troy Perkins ship is about to sail to Norway. All that stands in the way is some pending physicals and signing some paper work. The money side of this will come about once the transfer is complete. Perkin's new club in Norway, Valerenga IF has already posted this on their website (sorry it's [.

Houston Moves, Where Are The New Signings, and 2011 Roster Rules

Fire Confidential | ChicagoNow at related • 0 views

MLS announced today that the Houston Dynamo are moving to the Eastern Conference to make way for the inclusion of Vancouver and Portland in the West. The new conference alignment keeps the balance of power in the West, so not much has changed in terms of the Fire's standing in the East.

East : Chicago, Columbus, DC, Houston, New England, New York, Philadelphia, Kansas City, Toronto

West : Chivas, Colorado, Dallas, Los Angeles, RSL, San Jose, Seattle, Portland, Vancouver

Houston suffered through a down year last season and their current state is not much different than the Fire's.

A Roster Look

Preseason for KC starts tomorrow with entry physicals and there's certainly a lot to be decided with the expansion of the rosters and the spots that have opened up as well. With it only a day away I figured I'd take a quick look at the roster as it is now, the trialists and the draft picks, broken down by positions.

(No) Body Fat

Amongst the many tests done during yesterday's physicals is the body fat percentage measurement, which is pretty much what it sounds like. The average percentages amongst athletes vary depending on the sport - long distance runners versus football linemen, for example. In soccer, they tend to be on the lower side.

The first training session of the January camp is done and dusted, and all the nervous energy and anticipation will start to give way to better focus and sharper soccer. All of the 22 players currently in Carson took part in the nearly 90-minute long session which included a lengthy warm-up, technical exercises, simultaneous small-sided possession games and finally 6 v.

A couple of stories today:

First, there doesn't appear to be much in the way of news on either Schwarzer or Squillaci, although all reports are that Squillaci is basically a done deal just waiting to be announced. I suspect it will be confirmed by the end of the week.

But this has been a bit fascinating for me, mainly just watching how the internet reacts to these stories.

FC Dallas starts training this Monday, February 1st, with players undergoing physicals in the morning and a 6 PM session that evening on field #4. FCD will then train twice a day for roughly two weeks before going to Orlando to take part in the inaugural Walt Disney World Pro Soccer Classic. Of much more interest are the four missing names on the announced preseason roster.

Does playing Computer Games make you better at Football?

Now let's discount your archetypal spotty fat loser computer geek here. I am talking about normal people who play football and also play computers latterly Pro Evo, FIFA and harking back to Super Kick Off, Sensible Soccer, European Club Soccer, Actua Soccer, and so on.

I appreciate I have offered no reasons why they might help you on a cold Sunday morning on Hackney Marshes, and the obvious thought is that sitting in your bedroom bashing a pad won't do one jot for your fitness.
