Conmebol's Copa America is the oldest international continental tournament in soccer, and 2016
will mark its 100th birthday.
That could also be the year that many American soccer fans have a dream come true.

Just stumbled across this WAG gold and it would be remiss of me not to share.
Here's a suited-and-booted Sami Khedira looking very dapper in a DJ and posing alongside his
incredibly beautiful German model girlfriend, Lena Gercke the salient point being that the lovely

The Houston Dynamo are still actively trying to improve their forward options, and they took a
step in that direction by swinging a trade Wednesday night.

Even though TSG 1899 Hoffenheim was unceremoniously dumped out of the DFB Pokal quarterfinals by
second-tier Greuther Furth on Wednesday, the match carried significance for one American.
U.S. Under-23 winger Joe Gyau, made his first-team debut for Hoffenheim, entering as an
80th-minute substitute for U.

With our penchant for crap hats and whips, you might say we're the 'Indiana Jones's' of the
fluffy football world.
With this in mind, we ventured into the depths of the Copa Libertadores last night and found
this photo of Wagner (r) being tackled/molested (depending on how loose your definition
on on-pitch discipline is) by the magnificently named Hugo Nervo.

United States fullback Eric Lichaj has completed his return from a hip injury that kept him out
of action for the better part of the last five months, making the bench for Aston Villa's first
team in its last two matches. Despite Lichaj being a candidate to go on loan upon his return, Aston
Villa appears to be remain committed to seeing what he can do for the club, even if that means
moving him to a new spot on the field.
Tony Pulis' Technical Area Tony Pulis was so unhappy with Robert Huth's red card against Sunderland
that he emailed Match of the Day attaching a photo showing that the big defender's boots didn't
make contact with David Meyler. Quite why the Potters boss thought MOTD would be lacking camera
angles of the incident is unclear, [.

A few details worth noting: Each shirt is made from 13 recycled plastic bottles and contains a
raft of 'hidden accents', including an 'inspirational statement' (lord, how I love marketing
speak) for the players stitched inside the green cuffs reading 'Nascido Para Jogar Futebol' (Born
To Play Football) in 'Pichacao' a type of scribbly Brazilian graffiti.

Remember on Tuesday evening? When Benoit Assou-Ekotto very nearly carved Franco Di Santo's leg
in twain with a disgusting, over-the-ball leg-breaker of a horror tackle?
A tackle, it's perhaps worth noting, that apparently didn't merit any form of punishment for BAE
from either the referee at the time (as the blood sopped through the Argentine's sock) or the FA's
disciplinary committee?

In an interview on MLSsoccer.com's ExtraTime Radio podcast, Sebastien Le Toux tells Union fans
who are angry that he was sold to Vancouver that it is important that they continue to support the
Union: "To have you in the stands—it is always great to play in front of you and all of the guys
who played with me are wonderful players and they need you.
A picture speaks a thousand words. This photo, circulating Thursday afternoon of former U.S.
National Team coach Bob Bradley who is now in charge of the Egyptian National side, proves that
point. The new Egyptian National Team coach was so moved by yesterday's tragedy in Egypt where 74
people were killed and a thousand were [.

The Los Angeles Galaxy and Philadelphia Union both made their fair share of headlines this week,
so it is only appropriate that they combined for another one.
Los Angeles acquired central midfielder Kyle Nakazawa and a second-round pick in the 2013 MLS
SuperDraft from Philadelphia Wednesday in exchange for an international roster spot.
Buddle returns: The forward Galaxy fans never wanted to leave has returned to the club (Daily
Breeze file photo). The rumors were true. Edson Buddle has returned to the Galaxy after spending a
year in Germany where he scored 10 goals for second tier Ingolstadt. "I am thrilled to be

Chris Vito's (of the Delco Daily Times and The Times Herald) fantastic interview with Seba. Check

Arsenal have been hit with a huge blow after midfielder Jack Wilshere was ruled out for the entire

Late in the first half of today's Everton - Manchester City match at Goodison Park in Liverpool,
an individual invaded the pitch and handcuffed himself to a goalpost. Not sure why this man was
handcuffing himself to a goalpost, but it only took a few minutes to get some bolt cutters and
remove the man from the pole.

While the Vancouver Whitecaps are busy stockpiling forwards, the New England Revolution's quest
to find any reliable strikers continues.
That quest became a bit more difficult after definitive word that Rajko Lekic has returned to
his native Denmark to join Lyngby after spending the 2011 season with the Revs.

But if you see me walking by,
And the tears are in my eyes,
Look away, baby, look away.
If we meet on the streets someday,
And I don't know what to say,
Look away, baby, look away.
Don't look at me;
I don't want you to see me this way.

With the news of Sebastien Le Toux joining the Vancouver Whitecaps on a trade today. It has to,
no, it must be pointed out exactly how stacked these Whitecaps are on offense.
Just look at these names currently on the roster (and in camp):
- Camilo
- Eric Hassli
- Atiba Harris
- Omar Salgado
- Darren Mattocks
- Davide Chiumiento
- Lee Nguyen
- Long Tan
- Sebastien Le Toux
- Etienne Barbara (not currently signed)
Holy smokes.

If Sebastien Le Toux makes an appearance at PPL Park this summer for his second MLS All-Star
Game, he won't be representing the home team. He'll be doing it as a member of the Vancouver
Whitecaps.
The Philadelphia Union officially announced that they have dealt Le Toux to the Whitecaps,
acquiring an undisclosed sum of allocation money in exchange for its leading scorer and 2010 MLS
All-Star.

Five months is all that separates the U.S. men's national team from the start of its World Cup
qualifying campaign, and a friendly against Scotland appears to be in the works prior to then.

Superstitious Manchester United fans will be glad when the transfer window closes after TV quiz
Countdown seemed to predict Wayne Rooney's departure from Old Trafford. The word game through up

just hours before the transfer deadline day circus gets [.
It's hard to take Pele seriously these days with the quality of stories he's
been sharing with the children at your local playground. The Brazilian legend who hates
Maradona and would never give him a "lift on a rainy day" (thankfully
Kun's got that problem sorted) has attempted to go back on the "Cuando
Messi" saga.
Brazil's Internacional fans know what they're talking about when they mention D'Alessandro,
their talented playmaker once hailed as 'the next Maradona'. Unfortunately, Shanghai Shenhua are
coming in quick for him... so there isn't much time, chicas! / Photo via Gettyimages

The U.S. women's national team cruised through the Group Stage of Olympic qualifying and now
just needs a win on Friday against Costa Rica to reach the Summer Games in London.
There's one problem: Hope Solo might not play.
High up on the list of things no to do with football fans is to promise the unveiling of a big
new signing and then fail to follow through. Worse is to promise a big signing and then come
through with someone who won't even find the end of the bench on the reserves. Like Bayern did this
afternoon, requesting their fans tune into an official press conference to unveil the signing,
which turned out to be the photo of the fan who'd logged in via facebook.
Saw this photo over at Stadium Porn. Good gravy this one looks nice. The inside may not have the
bells and whistles that LIVESTRONG Sporting Park or Red Bull Arena have but I do believe this one
will go right in line with the rest of the new(ish) stadiums in MLS.
Well done Houston.
