Germany and Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm visited the FIFA Headquarters in Zurich earlier this week and gave an interesting interview, where he spoke about his charity foundation, the Champions League final and winning the World Cup next year (in Brazil?!)
On the Champions League Final
"Everything has to come together for a Champions League final.
Bayern Munich will travel to Turin, Italy on Wednesday to take on Juventus in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals with a two-goal advantage in hand.
The first leg in Munich saw Bayern score one of the fastest goals in Champions League history (26 seconds), and would later add another thanks to a Thomas Muller tap-in in the 63rd minute.
It's a crucial weekend for Bayern Munich and their Yogi Mascot above (possibly bowing to Jupp Heynckes in complete zen mode!)- who could be crowned Bundesliga Champions tomorrow with six games to spare if they beat Frankfurt.

On Friday, December 14th, Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich take on 8th place Borussia Monchengladbach with the hope of maintaining their 11-point lead over closest rivals Bayer Leverkusen.
Croatian striker Mario Mandzukic leads the way for Bayern with 9 goals in the league, while Thomas Muller and Franck Ribery have both contributed 7 assists so far this campaign.
Compiling a starting XI from all of the best leagues around the world is difficult. Taking in consideration the league a player plays in, as well as their ability level are at the forefront of the equation. However, just because a player has a big name like a Vincent Komany or Gerard Pique, does not pencil their names into the squad, nor even a spot on the bench.

Uefa chose last night's Euro 2012 semi-final between Italy and Germany to introduce their new
'Respect Divers' initiative. Michel Platini and co are fed up with the abuse that is being levelled
at players such as Ashley Young and Cristiano Ronaldo, and are taking decisive action to allow
football's diving community to go about their [.
Spain plays tonight with a challenge thrown to them. They are joint favourites with Germany and
the nationalmannschaft throws down the gauntlet with a dominating display which sent
Greece home. The 2004 winners tried to compete but once the Germans clicked into gear, there was
ever only going to be one outcome.
Glückwünsche! After a 4-2 win over Greece tonight, the Germans are through to the semi-finals
of Euro 2012, although admittedly, they were a shadow of themselves in
the first half. Lackluster finishing, passing (Ozil's fish diet clearly doesn't hide his
exhaustion) and poor defending almost cost them dearly, as did Joachim Low's
unexpected decision to field Miroslav Klose, who hardly touched the ball in the
first half.
1. Just call Joachim Loew 'Mr Muscle'. That's how easily he removed Greece from Euro 2012. 2.
Greece gave it a good go in the second-half, but in the end the Germans were 4-2 strong for them.
3. The Greeks briefly wiped out their deficit, but Germany came back with considerable interest. 4.

Germany overcame a wasteful first half performance to defeat Greece 4-2 in Gdansk and proceed to

The Greeks punished Germany's lack of clinical finishing in the first half by equalizing through
a quick counter-attack of their own, which ended with a Georgios Samaras goal in the 55th

On a day when Germany captain Philipp Lahm matched Thomas Hassler and Jurgen Klinsmann's record
of 13 European Championship appearances, he also scored a fantastic opening goal to give his side a
deserved 1-0 lead at half-time.
The Germans dominated the proceedings throughout a highly one-sided opening period but were
somewhat wasteful in their failure to open the scoring until the 38th minute.
Germany captain Philipp Lahm has spoken of his delight at the manner in which his national

German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, was invited to dinner with the German national squad at the
squad's hotel in Sopot, Poland yesterday. She stopped to talk to everyone from Mesut
Ozil to the chatty Bastian Schweinsteiger and sat next to Captain
Philipp Lahm throughout the session.
Germany heads into its Euro 2012 opener against Portugal on Saturday with little to no momentum
on its side following a 5-3 exhibition defeat to Switzerland and a drab 2-0 win over Israel. But an
even bigger concern, undoubtedly, remains the lack of leadership that is needed to claim glory at
the highest level.
Welcome to your Champions League Final Bumper Post, brought to you by the
squinting Fernando Torres and his post-flight mop. He brought just enough clothes
for the post-match dinner in Munich, so it looks like that epic house rave and beer fountain party
Jupp Heynckes has planned will only be attended by Mario Gomez (2
more goals, tipo, "zwei tore!
Members of Bayern Munich's squad and staff have aimed to settle debate surrounding whether or
not they are favorites for tomorrow's Champions League final against Chelsea.
In recent days, the likes of Michael Ballack and Petr Cech have stated that Bayern have an
emotional advantage as hosts, while Bastian Schweinsteiger has argued that the Blues' determination
to erase their 2008 heartbreak gives them the emotional edge.
Bayern Munich captain Philipp Lahm has conceded that the prospect of losing two finals within
the span of a week will be unacceptable for his side after they conceded the Bundesliga crown to
Borussia Dortmund a few weeks ago.
Next Saturday's Champions League final against Chelsea at home is a spectacle that everyone in
Munich is eagerly anticipating but tonight, Lahm and his teammates must face the in-form Dortmund
in Berlin for the DFB Pokal.
Bayern Munich skipper Philipp Lahm has admitted that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo
cannot be stopped for the duration of an entire 90-minute match and hopes that his teammates can at
least limit the damage that the Portuguese winger can cause.
Unlike Barcelona defender Dani Alves' disrespectful remarks towards Chelsea, there has been a
lot of mutual respect exchanged between Real and Bayern players in the last 48 hours.
Lahm, Dani Alves, Marcelo, Assou-Ekotto... A Statistical Analysis of Europe's Attacking
Full-Backs is a post from: Just Football
In the past, a full-back's traditional role was to defend from wide positions, track opposition
wingers and prevent crosses coming into the box. However over recent years the role has evolved to
be almost more an attacking position than a defensive one.
verrückt!! There's nothing quite like a goofy footballer pretending to be an overzealous
fan and you can count on Germany and Bayern Munich's Thomas Mueller to do it! As
the Euro 2012 approaches, the German National Team have been hard at work rolling out campaigns to
drum up home support, launching new jerseys (ironically, it's back to 1972′s away green kit!

by Lothar Matthäus, but it's close to the truth.
Right, we know Gossip Wednesday takes place tomorrow but this was just too difficult to pass up!
Every football club needs to do Oktoberfest, like Bayern Munich (bitte! /
pleeease). Forget all those gala nights and red carpets (here's looking at you, Man
United) just arrive in your finest Bavarian suits and dresses- like Thomas
Mueller and his wife, Lisa, above - and you're all bloody well good to
go!
Ah yes, if it isn't the guys of Bayern Munich in their traditional Bavarian
costumes! On a wet, rainy Monday yesterday, Thomas Mueller, Arjen Robben, Manuel Neuer,
Philipp Lahm and co' arrived at the training ground for the club's annual photo shoot with
a beer company.
Bayern Munich beat Barcelona 3-0 in the second leg of their Champions League semifinal to advance to an all-German final with an astonishing 7-0 aggregate score. The only goal Barcelona managed to score in the tie was a Gerard Pique own goal in the 72nd minute, which he drove into the net with an attempt to clear a Philipp Lahm cross that went off his knee.
It may seem odd to suggest a club needs defensive help when they have conceded a mere eight leagues goals and perhaps seems even stranger when you consider the presence of world class defenders such as Philipp Lahm and emerging players such as David Alaba. However, Bayern need to look to strengthen the defensive side [.
Bayern Munich rested half a dozen stars but still romped to a 6-1 win at home to ten-man Werder Bremen on Saturday to go 18 points clear at the top of the Bundesliga. Chelsea will defeat Bayern Munich to lift the Champions League trophy tomorrow. That's the verdict
of a match-predicting llama. The llama operating very much in a similar spirit to Paul the Octopus

The fullback positions, right back and left back, have emerged as some of the more important positions in world football, but when one thinks about the best footballers in the world, one rarely recalls a right back. With the emergence of the 4-2-3-1, the fullback positions have given added width as they're given the lease of the field to overlap with the wide midfielders.
Arsenal have dug themselves a hole so deep that it's going to be nearly impossible to climb out of after dropping a 3-1 decision at home on Feb. 19 to Germany's Bayern Munich in the first leg of their round-of-16 tie in the European Champions League. It was a rather sloppy affair in the first half with the Gunners improving greatly in the second 45 minutes, but they were simply beaten by a better side on the night.

See how the Alpha male, frenzied by the scent of estrogen in the air, drags his chosen mate to
the floor and mounts her vigorously. It may look unnecessarily violent to you and me but this is
nature's will at work...
