Wednesday night at Red Bull Arena for the 2011 MLS All-Star Game, the electricity was floating
in the air and you could feel it, sense it and smell it.
Before the game, the streets near Red Bull Arena were filled with games. Hardest shot contest,
Soccer tennis, playing X-Box with FIFA 2011, writing signs for your favorite players and of course
a picture next to the Philip Anschutz trophy (MLS Cup) so you could have a keepsake.
By Clemente Lisi - NEW YORK, NY (Jan 27, 2011) US Soccer Players -- As far as team owners go,
Philip Anschutz doesn't want to be a household name. He doesn't hold news conferences, is rarely
seen in public, and as a result has been able to maintain an aura of privacy despite being at the
helm of a vast sports and entertainment empire.
Commentary
I am happy that the NASL is taking a pro-active stance after the USSF revoked their preliminary
sanction for D2 soccer last week. The NASL under Aaron Davidson and Traffic Sports is currently
working with the USSF to regain sanctioning in time for 2011 action as the D2 league in the United
States, Canada and the Caribbean.
