When former NFL head coach Jim Mora began his now famous "PLAYOFFS!?" rant, he wasn't discussing
the Indianapolis Colts actually making the playoffs, he was ranting about the media even thinking
about that happening. In the case of the Philadelphia Union, the outcry of the similar high
pitched, cracking voice that accompanies the three or four "PLAYOFFS!
Sean Avery is a lightening rod for controversy. The latest incident happened on the ice during a
preseason game between the New York Rangers and the Philadelphia Flyers. After physical play, Wayne
Simmonds of the Flyers called Sean Avery a homosexual slur.
Simmonds couldn't deny what he did because cameras caught him in the act.
Year two for the Philadelphia Union has brought along on-the-field success, but also
off-the-field success as well. Various celebrities have visited PPL Park so far this season, almost
all of whom have stopped by the River End at some point during their trips to watch the Union
play.
Earlier in the season saw United States Men's National Team (USMNT) midfielder, Stuart Holden,
actually come into the River End and play the drums, plus cheer alongside the Sons of Ben.
Tonight, the New England Revolution will take on the Philadelphia Union at Gillette Stadium.
It's a battle of basement versus best, as the Revs sit at the bottom of the Eastern Conference
table while the Union currently reside at the top.

During the Sons of Ben tailgate for today's Philadelphia Union - Vancouver Whitecaps game at PPL
Park, 'Stache Bash will be taking place. 6abc will cover the event and will have something on the
event in the upcoming week.
Jeremy Sharpe, whose mustache began the push towards 'Stache Bash, has provided a full update of
what will be happening this Saturday on his blog. The Sons of Ben tailgate will have all of the
'Stache Bash events, which can be found by heading to the location denoted by the picture to the
right.
