One rumor making the rounds in the NBA has the Philadelphia 76ers interested in Amare Stoudemire
of the New York Knicks. Although Stoudemire is off to a slow start this season, another team may
want to acquire him and surround him with better players.
That said, that team is not the Sixers.
This early in the basketball season, it's easy to get caught up in the success and start to
overrate certain fantasy basketball players. With that in mind, here's our list of the most
overrated fantasy basketball players for the 2011-12 NBA season.
Dirk Nowitzki, Dallas Mavericks

1. Rashard Lewis, Washington Wizards
Although massively overpaid, Rashard Lewis can still play.
When former NFL head coach Jim Mora began his now famous "PLAYOFFS!?" rant, he wasn't discussing
the Indianapolis Colts actually making the playoffs, he was ranting about the media even thinking
about that happening. In the case of the Philadelphia Union, the outcry of the similar high
pitched, cracking voice that accompanies the three or four "PLAYOFFS!
In February 2008, Philadelphia was officially awarded a MLS franchise. Only a few months
earlier, the Philadelphia Eagles had finished at the bottom of their division. The Phillies were
still licking their wounds after being unceremoniously swept out of the MLB playoffs by a surging
Rockies team that would make it to the World Series before crumbling.

At halftime of the Philadelphia Union's 1-1 draw on Saturday, frustrated Real Salt Lake striker
Fabian Espindola lost his composure and made an unprofessional 'salute' to the Sons of Ben in the

One week after celebrating a monumental win against their heated rivals from New York, the
Philadelphia Union (3-1-0) will host a team from the other side of the country as the Seattle
Sounders (1-2-2) are coming to town for a 4:00 game that will take place during both a Philadelphia
76ers AND a Philadelphia Flyers playoff game.
The Chicago Bulls hadn't lost at home since Jan. 18 against the Charlotte Bobcats. On Monday,
the Philadelphia 76ers ended that streak by handing the Bulls a 97-85 defeat. The Sixers built a
big first half lead and then held on late to improve to 38-36 on the season. The loss dropped the
Bulls to 53-20.
Shaquille O'Neal has been out injured since February 1st with multiple right foot ailments.
Whenever he's able to get healthy and return, expect him to start at center for the Boston Celtics.
The question is when will Shaquille O'Neal be ready to go. The good news for Shaq and the Celtics
is it sounds like the Big Bostonian should be back within a couple weeks.

Quietly, Rudy Gay has been one of the most improved players in the NBA this season. He has
matured and is playing consistent, smart basketball. However, Rudy Gay will be away from the court
for a while after injury his shoulder. Rudy Gay's shoulder injury will have him sidelined for at
least a month likely longer.
Fans of the Indiana Pacers have long complained about how Jim O'Brien doesn't play young players
enough, how he utilizes an uneven rotation and how his team lacks consistency. On Sunday, those
were three of the main reasons why Larry Bird decided to fire Jim O'Brien. After firing O'Brien,
Bird named Frank Vogel as the team's head coach.
OJ Mayo has had a difficult season with the Memphis Grizzlies. He has lost his starting job and
has seen his name appear in countless trade rumors. Now, OJ Mayo has made things even more
difficult for himself. The Grizzlies guard tested positive for DHEA, a steroid precursor, and has
been suspended ten games by the NBA.
Bad news for the Charlotte Bobcats. Tyrus Thomas, who has arguably been the best player on the
team this year on a per-minute basis, is out approximately eight weeks after suffering a torn
meniscus. The injury, which is in his left knee, was discovered after his knee swelled up prior to
Thursday's game.
